What''s up with The Today Show & their annoying bumper music?!?

I switched from watching GMA to Today several months ago and while it''s a bit dry and not as glossy as GMA, it''s better and more informative and not everything is about mommies & promoting somebody''s book or movie.\ \ However, what the hell is up with the bumper music? They play some dumb ass song for everything. Just because there''s a segment called "Financial 911" or whatever doesn''t mean they need to BLAST some hip-hop song yelling "9-1-1!!" If there''s a photo of a glass of wine, there''s a wine-themed song blaring through the TV speakers. If you''ve watched, you know what I''m talking about. It just comes across as cheap and silly not to mention annoying. Why?

• Of course, a fashion segment focusing on the model''s purple fall sweater requires a three minute play of "Purple People Eater". It''s like the show is produced by a junior high school a/v class.

• Hoda Kotb was a fantastic journalist but she gave it all up. I guess she makes big bucks being the butt of Ms. Gifford''s zingers.

• I made the opposite switch due to Meredith and Matt''s interviewing style. They do their fake hard hitting interviews where they act uptight towards their interviewees & constantly cut them off. I find it annoying. \ \ George & Robin are more low key, which works better for me early in the morning.

• I went looking for this thread wondering if I'm the only one who's annoyed by this. Glad to know I'm not (even though the thread is two years old). What the hell is up with the constant loud music they play during segments? It overpowers whatever the hosts are saying. And yes, they also wear out popular songs. The completely ruined that 'Carry On' song by Fun by playing it over and over again. WHY do they do this?
