That is fascinating I haven''t heard anything about this case either. I wonder if there is any book about this case? or something? Thank you OP threads like this are the best.
I have a novel that uses Spangler''s disappearance as the major story point. It''s called ''The Song Is You''.
you are welcome. i always have interesting links. wasn''t sure anyone would be interested.%0D\
now i know. kisses
The Song is You is a terrific book, by Megan Abbott. I''d never heard of Jean Spangler''s disappearance before I read the novel. She comes up with a pretty interesting "solution" of what happened to her, and makes the case feel as creepy and urgent as the Black Dahlia case.
is it non fiction, the book i mean
Creepy. Kirk Douglas & N. Wood - yeesh.
She got to feel Kirk Douglas shoot inside her.
Okay, reading that note sent chills down my spine. Did the authorities ever figure out who Dr. Scott was and why Spangler was going to see him/her?
i found a link to google books if anyone wants to preview
And the Black Dahlia herself was going to meet a "Kirk" when she was murdered.%0D\
Geez, what the fuck was he up to in the forties and fifties?
In Kirk Douglas''s autobiography he talks about hate fucking this anti semitic woman who owned a hotel he worked at.He allegedly raped poor Natalie Wood, who knows what else he did.
Kirk was one of the most hated people in hollywood in his day.
Don''t you fucking LOOK at me!
Kirk Douglas, 1949
I''ve posted here before that he hit on me a few years ago and was menacing even on a walker.
lol @ R16???
I remember you saying that R16.
She''s not that attractive.
Do you think the DNA evidence would be totally obliterated after 70 something years in the Georgette Bauerdorf case? Or with break through technology in forensics they may still able to take the DNA evidence of what is available, and find out who was the murderer?\
BTW, Georgette%C3%A2%C2%80%C2%99s apartment building is beautiful.
[quote]She got to feel Kirk Douglas shoot inside her.
Didn't we all?
She was seen with Ronald Reagan shortly before she disappeared as I recall.
With Reagan? I thought it was with Douglas.
It was Douglas. Jean had a bit part in "Young Man With a Horn" at the time she disappeared.
There is a book about the Black Dahlia purportedly solving the murder written by an ex-cop who claims his father was the murderer. It is full of bizarre gossip but some of it is simply what he saw as a kid growing up with a pretty strange father. I cannot remember the name of the book but if you go to amazon.com and look into the Black Dahlia books, you'll find it. Fascinating stuff - the daughter of the doctor was raped by her dad and was a friend of Michelle Phillips, pre-Mama and Papas fame. Anyway, Spangler is mentioned as one of the young women who disappeared at the time of the BD's murder.
The book is by Steve Hodel. He gets kind of nutsy at the end and loses his credibility, but the autobiographical stuff - growing up with his family and the celebs who frequented his father's sex parties - is very interesting and very creepy. I'd already heard about John Huston the pederast, but I hadn't heard about Man Ray.
