What the fuck is wrong with him?
by Anonymous | reply 86 | January 30, 2021 8:27 PM |
According to [italic]Esquire[/italic], he needs to shave.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | August 18, 2010 12:53 AM |
And bathe.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | August 22, 2010 2:42 AM |
Nothing's really wrong, it's just a combo of drugs, and being an attention whore.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | August 22, 2010 2:47 AM |
Cocaine's a hell of a drug.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | August 22, 2010 2:48 AM |
Isn't it just a big piss take?
by Anonymous | reply 5 | August 22, 2010 2:49 AM |
I thought that was some shtick for the film. You know, one of those method actor things?
People on the OP's website are writing shit about him ending up dead.
Am I confused here?
by Anonymous | reply 6 | August 22, 2010 2:51 AM |
Why did the pretty brother have to die?
by Anonymous | reply 7 | August 22, 2010 3:55 AM |
Crazy people can do piss takes, R5.%0D %0D Or they can try, anyway. Since they have no proper frame of reference or sense of humor, the results are as weird as Phoenix's recent antics.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | August 22, 2010 4:01 AM |
Harelip trauma - the shame caught up with him.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | August 22, 2010 4:52 AM |
No real sense of humor. Huge ego. Drug dependent.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | August 22, 2010 4:57 AM |
His co-star Casey Affleck is involved in a couple of sexual harassment lawsuits from women who worked on that film
by Anonymous | reply 11 | August 22, 2010 5:00 AM |
Probably raped as a child. His parents were in that Children of God/The Family cult and the leaders advocated child sexuality.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | August 22, 2010 5:00 AM |
I've always been intrigued by him. R12 makes me very curious; his parents--extremely flaky people--might have advocated drug use, but allowing their children to be sexually abused is something they hopefully drew the line at. However, it would go a long way towards explaining why he and his brother were/are so fucked up.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | August 22, 2010 5:29 AM |
Sadly, River Phoenix was molested when he was a child, probably by a cult member. It wouldn't surprise me if the same thing happened to Joaquin (whose first name used to be "Leaf").
by Anonymous | reply 14 | August 22, 2010 5:34 AM |
I thought "I'm Still Here" was hilarious, but the entire time I felt cringey that no one was offering to help him or asking if he was OK. I mean, I figure Casey and the British guy were in on it, but I'm not sure about the other people who came into contact with him.
And even though he seems back to "normal", he still has nothing in the works per IMDB.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | January 24, 2011 9:57 PM |
Any gossip on him?
by Anonymous | reply 16 | January 29, 2015 6:14 PM |
Yeah, he's brilliant.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | January 29, 2015 6:19 PM |
I was just about to post what R17 did. Great actor.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | January 29, 2015 6:19 PM |
Joaquin Phoenix
Shia La Douche
James Franco
can all take their ridiculous, smug yet desperate, attention-craving selves to a deserted island and perish for all I care.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | January 29, 2015 6:23 PM |
What's his next movie?
by Anonymous | reply 20 | January 29, 2015 6:23 PM |
I think he's really hot. "Tell Merrill to swing away".
by Anonymous | reply 21 | January 29, 2015 6:25 PM |
Does he have the AIDS?
I guess, unlike you lot, he was smart enough not to get a disease which is 100% preventable.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | January 29, 2015 6:25 PM |
He looks so old.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | January 29, 2015 6:44 PM |
He's not "brilliant." In fact, he seems kind of mentally challenged. He is a good actor, though. But that doesn't take brains.
I guess he's the way he is due to bad genes. Both his parents are nutjobs. His poor brother River was so damaged by his upbringing that he ended up dying of a drug overdose on a sidewalk outside Johnny Depp's sleazy Viper Club. Joaquin seems quite mentally ill himself. I guess it's due to heredity and growing up with dipsy-doodle hippie parents who belonged to a sex cult called The Children of God. No wonder he's a mental mess.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | January 29, 2015 6:51 PM |
I feel sorry for him.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | January 29, 2015 7:30 PM |
R21 Loved him in that movie. Lately looks like he could use a good scrubbin. Maybe he and Jonny Depp could pool their money and buy a bottle of shampoo and a bar of soap.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | January 29, 2015 8:29 PM |
There's nothing wrong with him. He sees Hollywood for the giant cesspool it is and is probably embarrassed he makes so much money in such a sleazy business.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | January 29, 2015 9:39 PM |
I think he has a pretty low IQ + he probably isn't all there. No problem for actors. People only think Daniel Day Lewis is some kind of a genius because he is careful to only give highly supervised interviews. He's dumb as a box of rocks and also mentally ill.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | January 29, 2015 10:30 PM |
Why do you say that, R28?
by Anonymous | reply 29 | January 30, 2015 2:21 AM |
Spill, R28.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | January 30, 2015 2:26 AM |
"There's nothing wrong with him."
His behavior suggests there is.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | January 30, 2015 3:36 PM |
What behavior?
by Anonymous | reply 32 | January 31, 2015 11:17 AM |
Joaquin is one of the best actors today. He's a bit awkward, especially in interviews, and he's perhaps a little quirky, but he's actually very bright, he's sweet and goodhearted, and like his brother River, he's what one may describe as undereducated.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | January 31, 2015 11:25 AM |
I love his ass
by Anonymous | reply 34 | January 31, 2015 11:32 AM |
He comes from a really fucked up family.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | January 31, 2015 11:37 AM |
I think he's cute

by Anonymous | reply 38 | May 16, 2015 11:59 PM |
He never bathes and that build up of smegma has turned septic.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | May 17, 2015 12:05 AM |
Joaquin's extremely emotionally needy and often indulges in overwhelming crying fits. Supposedly it drove Liv mad. Perhaps he dates pre-pubescent looking girls because they put up with that shit?
Likes to hang out at porn sets during his free time.
Also remember when Joaquin and Casey filmed that dumb documentary? The lady that wanted to sue them stated Casey had sex with another woman in front of Joaquin. I thought it was a little odd since he's married to his sister.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | May 17, 2015 12:27 AM |
Didn't Ted C claim he's gay? Moniker: Walkers crisps or something like that.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | May 17, 2015 12:30 AM |
Against all odds - because the trailer looks like the usual laughable, tiresome bullshit - Joaquin is getting great reviews for Woody Allen's latest movie.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | May 17, 2015 12:31 AM |
Nah, the film's had some terrible reviews too. Phoenix really can't play a romantic lead. No man or woman wants to fuck that guy.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | May 17, 2015 12:43 AM |
He used to be fuckable. Not so much now.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | May 17, 2015 1:02 AM |

Crisp Lisp. Everyone thought it was Phoenix but eventually Ted eliminated him.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | May 17, 2015 1:05 AM |
Saw him once drinking at a restaurant bar in nyc, he was drinking a beer by himself several years ago. I think he claimed to be sober at that time, not sure. But it was definitely him, it was well lit.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | May 17, 2015 1:06 AM |
I'm close to someone who has a small role in one of his upcoming movies. He was out there. Not friendly to anyone but the famous director and co-star. Didn't acknowledge anyone else on the set.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | May 17, 2015 1:18 AM |
Too bad. I'm so sick of cunty actors.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | May 17, 2015 1:27 AM |
Not hot enough for gay rumors.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | May 17, 2015 3:58 AM |
He's a mess. He threw an ungodly tantrum about holding a vegetarian egg roll. No one asked him to take a bite of it; all he had to do was hold the bitten egg roll as if he had been eating it. Since it couldn't be guaranteed that the wrapper didn't contain egg, that wasn't going to happen. Never mind that he'll even wear leather for directors with more backbone.
In the end, a crew member had to call a local relative who is a vegan cookbook author. She made the egg rolls for him and - as is usually the case in these instances - the scene didn't make the final cut. And then people wonder why time and budgets are constantly blown?
If you're wondering why he couldn't just have spring rolls like a normal person, it's because they were deemed far too upscale for the uncultured simpleton he played.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | May 17, 2015 4:48 AM |
If I were the director, I would say, "hold the fucking egg roll or I'm going to knock you on your ass. We have work to do."
As a man, wouldn't he get embarrassed? It's such a poncey concern.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | May 17, 2015 4:53 AM |
And I'm vegan
by Anonymous | reply 52 | May 17, 2015 5:06 AM |
"He's a bit awkward, especially in interviews, and he's perhaps a little quirky, but he's actually very bright, he's sweet and goodhearted, and like his brother River, he's what one may describe as undereducated."
"Undereducated?" He and his siblings got NO education. I guess they were able to learn some rudimentary reading and writing skills but that was it. Their wacko hippie parents didn't think formal education was of major importance. But then they're no alone in that. The children of celebrities not infrequently are uneducated, especially if their parents drag them all around the world with them. Elizabeth Taylor's children were like that. So were Marlon Brando's. It's quite tragic.
by Anonymous | reply 53 | May 17, 2015 5:16 AM |
Joaquin watched his brother die on the street in front of the Viper club when he was just 19. Listen to the 911 call:
by Anonymous | reply 54 | May 17, 2015 5:25 AM |
Doesn't take a rocket scientist to see how screwed up the Phoenix clan is.
Those kids had no stability to fall back on growing up. Living in a cult with two nutcase parents, then being ushered into the exploitive world of Hollywood probably fucked them all up beyond repair. As grown ups they're all weird eccentrics now--and not in a good way.
I wouldn't be surprised at all if Joaquin is mentally ill. Years of abuse (both experienced and witnessed probably), watching his older brother OD at 19 due to his own mental demons, and then living life in a cesspool of fame, money, drugs and sex with no real support system...that'll fuck anyone up mentally.

The girlfriend looks like one of the stick figure characters in the original I Love Lucy Philip Morris commercials or the credits of The Lucy Show. With tiny tits added.

I saw some recent photos of Joaquin together with Reese W. They seem to be friends. Anyway, she was sort of guiding him around like she was his mother or something. Weird.
by Anonymous | reply 59 | May 17, 2015 10:26 PM |
R55 why is that weird?
by Anonymous | reply 60 | May 17, 2015 10:28 PM |

Joaquin bitched about Reese on Dave Letterman.

A conceited druggy who is also fugly.

I read on lipstickalley that, years ago around the time he had his drinking problem, that he use to tell women he only started dating that he was molested and would break down and cry. this one chick said she was totally weirded out by him - he sent her a gift to apologise. I feel bad for him. I know what it's like - same with River.
Does anyone know what he's like now? Also read on crazy days and nights (yeah i know) that him and Rooney involve other women during sex? Something like that. I can see it. Though talk surrounding Joaquin is sad, due to his childhood experiences, current gossip is boring and predictable. I'm gonna need some new material!!

Teaser trailer for [bold]Don’t Worry, He Won’t Get Far On Foot[/bold]. Comes out in May 2018.
Also starring Jonah Hill, Rooney Mara, and Jack Black in the true story of cartoonist John Callahan. Van Sant wrote the script based on Callahan’s autobiography.

Anyone who would name their kid River, would molest them for sure.
by Anonymous | reply 71 | January 16, 2018 4:42 PM |
He's getting the same backlash Jakey got:
Joaquin Phoenix's casting as a disabled man in a new movie has been criticised by a disability rights group.
The Ruderman Family Foundation called out Don't Worry, He Won't Get Far On Foot, which tells the story of quadriplegic cartoonist John Callahan.
The group argued that the movie should have cast a genuinely disabled actor instead, and called on Hollywood to include more disabled actors in leading roles.

HIs harelip will be the real star of that film.

[bold]Joaquin Phoenix in Talks to Play the Joker in Todd Phillips’ Standalone Movie[/bold]
Joaquin Phoenix is in talks to play the Clown Prince of Crime in Warner Bros. and Todd Phillips’ untitled Joker origin movie.
While studio negotiations are not yet underway, Phillips has made it clear that Phoenix is the top choice to star and sources now tell Variety that, after thinking it over, Phoenix has agreed to the role. WB had no comment.
Phillips is on board to co-write and direct the movie. Phillips had met with Phoenix before the new year and was just waiting for the studio’s go-ahead, sources say.

Rain is a better actress than him imo. She was excellent in ‘Harry + Max’.
