Morocco is a really popular UK hoilday destination for singles and families. Marrakech is the most gay friendly town and you'll often see gay tour parties from the UK, Sweden and Germany in the major hotels. I do not get the "magic of Marrakesh". People love it in theory, but everyone I know who has been there couldn't wait to leave. I stayed with a friend in a beautiful riad in the Medina b/c my friend had to be in the center of it all. We smuggled in alcohol and just drank on the rooftop in the evening and then went into the new city for dinner/partying. The St. Laurent gardens were beautiful and a camel ride was run.
