I hate the crowd there. Much ado about very mediocre food.
No. That is what happens when you cannot act and are not appealing enough to Hollywood power brokers to blow for bit parts in movies.
If you are really good looking (and he is) aren''t you expected to walk around like a big old snob?\
I think it''s written into their contracts. Something about - it makes us want them all the more. It kinda works.
How bad can his acting be?
He''s hotness personified.
Hate the pursed lips thing, but love everything else:
Actor and model.\
Google is your friend here.\
I thought he was great in "Eating Out 2", to be honest.
Well if you want to see his snobiness in person go to toast in LA on Saturday mornings. Seriously he must be a really bad actor if he is this good looking and has to wait tables.
R12 = Marco Dapper''s mother
An aspiring actor who waits tables between acting gigs!\
Wow. That never happens in LA.
Marco isn''t gay, has gone to great lengths to make it known.
I thought he was [bold]great[/bold] in "Eating Out 2"\
Really? Isn''t "great" a bit much. He was fine, maybe, but great?
Hot guy. Wonder if he escorts on the downlow?
He wouldn''t be at Toast if he escorted. The man is not a whore.
Thanks for posting R10. Those are some hot pendulous balls.
Op- so what? My, what a snob you are. I''m SURE you''d throw him out of bed over it!
No one outside of a very limited demographic has ever heard of Marco Dapper. Of course he''s going to be a waiter.
Doesn''t another Eating Out / Desperate Housewives favorite of yesteryear (Ryan Carnes) work as waiter nowdays?
I have watched and jacked off to the scene where he gets his nipples licked too many times to count.\
Need to eat at toast soon!
Not even enough talent for the soaps.
I read at dreamcaps that male model Kerry Degman works at a Starbucks in L.A. These guys aren''t truly famous or stars or anything like that, and they have real lives. It''s sort of cool to know there are still 20 somethings out there who are young, broke, struggling, and just hanging out being normal.
I read that John Bregar (Dylan - Marco''s on and off boyfriend from Degrassi: The Next Generation) works at Toronto''s Hard Rock Cafe.
Even though someone might be considered a superstar in the gay universe for posing for photographs nearly naked it doesn''t mean the rest of the world acknowledges their "awesomeness." And most male models make hardly any money from their work, esp. if they''re just posing for a photgrapher just to get some portfolio shots out there. The vast majority of shoots Marco has been on have paid nothing.
Kerry Degman works at Starbucks? That''s very surprising. I could see Dapper waiting tables but don''t male models of Degman''s status make more than actors?
Supposedly, Degman is trying to break into acting, hence the barista thing.
Toast is overrated--if you want a good LA breakfast, go to Square One or Nickel Diner.
No ''tude, just good food
There is dignity in labor. \
At least, they''re making a decent living. \
They could have easily taken the easy route of whoring themselves out as hustlers.
Dapper isn''t gay, when asked about the scenes in Eating out, he said: "I''m not gay and I don''t have tendencies."
R34- Sure he''s not. Wink. The one profession that never attracts gay men is acting. Also, florists.
in other breaking news, Sheila Levine is Dead and Living in New York.
Well his good friend waiter at toast is as gay as a goose.
It''s hilarious that he thinks he''s straight (or can pass for straight).
Good looking doesn''t pay the rent. Waiting tables does. It''s an honest living.
Guess that means his acting career is (say it with me, everyone) ...... toast.
I''m here all week .....
That''s a very snotty and self-indulgent response he gave, R34. He may not have ''tendencies'', but at least most of us have something that he doesn''t: a well-paying job.
Doesn''t another Eating Out / Desperate Housewives favorite of yesteryear (Ryan Carnes) work as waiter nowdays?\
Carnes has a pilot for a series based on The Phantom that''s airing on SyFy this weekend, and may get picked up if the ratings are worth it.\
Unfortunately, he is foregoing spandex.
OP here, I''m not saying it isn''t a noble thing that he is waiting tables making an honest living. I''m just pointing out his acting abilities. Sheesh. Wondering why someone SO good looking and with a resume can''t get another acting gig. Must be a BAD actor.
Acting jobs are very very few and far between. It is a rare and lucky person who is able to support themself solely as an actor.\
Marco Dapper did a few movies and all of them low budget.
OP, there are tons of good-looking men and women in LA and NYC trying to make it into show business. He''s lucky he has made a couple of low budget movies. Others, who are more talented and better looking, have not had the same opportunity.\
There is a lot of luck involved in the business. Most actors and actresses are just average to above average in looks and have mediocre talents. What can I say? Life is not fair.
Yes, he''s gay. I don''t think his inability to get work has much to do with the one gay movie he did. Many successful actors have played gay in their early roles. \
He accepted another gay role in a gay movie, and then I believe he backed out, but I don''t think that movie was ever completed.\
Timing and luck have so much to do with success in HW. Even George Cloony admits to that. Although he did say he worked his ass off, he said it''s all about timing...being in the right place at the right time.
He''s better looking than Tom Cruise. \
That is all.
Marco is where I was 10-years ago. He''s completely comfortable in his gay skin but will shuck it to make a buck and climb the ladder. He has a boyfriend, loves Ayn Rand, is a fiscal conservative without knowing jack shit about anything, and is now in the process of learning that it take a lot more than personal attitude and a bootstraps mentality to make it big in this world.\
Either he will score one of these days or he will come to the realization that life just isn''t that black and white. His bf is pretty much a carbon copy.
In other words, he''s the stereotypical gay Weho wannabe who just happens to be hot as fuck.
48 is his boyfriend another waiter at Toast?
....and then you wake up r48.\
Dapper was a self-confesed homophobe, and claimed the making of eating out was the first time he was exposed to gay people,\
Eating Out 2 is Marco''s big break in that he has a huge part in it (in more ways than one) that allows him to show off his easy charm on screen. It also represents his personal big break because making the film exposed him to so many gay people that he seems to have shrugged off his built-in preconceptions about what "gay" is all about. He''s hopeful that audiences—and the industry—will be similarly open-minded about his acting ability.\
"I guess you could call me a homophobe back then," Marco remembers of the time not so long ago when he arrived in L.A. "I was the kinda guy who if a gay guy came and talked to me I''d be like, ''What is he doing? Is he hitting on me?'' It was fear of the unknown. This movie was like a whole 180. I just realized, ''Not all of them are hitting on me.''"
So much dish in this thread.\
How did Ryan Carnes end up in an episode of Doctor Who? Was RTD a fan of Eating Out?!
Don''t know how he ended up in the actual two part adventure, but was psyched when he showed up (even though most of his face is covered in make up and prosthetics).
r48, Brando Eaton is dat chu?
Is Ryan Carnes out?\
I always thought Dapper was hot...I''m over it. I''m not getting myself worked up over some loser who admits he''s homophobic. I hope he enjoys his obscurity.
He''s just another hot guy in a city full of them. I''m sure he''s pleasant to look at in person, but if he hadn''t shown his dick in the movie, nobody other than his sex partners would give him more than a moment''s notice.
Homophobe? Yeah right. All homophobes willingly take, not only a gay role, but a gay movie.\
Pussyphobe is more like it. The guy worships Rand''s ass. He''s not exactly the most sensitive nor the smartest homo...so yeah, he admits to homophobia to cover for his blatent homosexuality.
He got over his homophobia real quick, didn''t he? Tongue and all.
With the dominance of reality TV and the gutting of daytime drama, acting jobs are more rare than ever.\
Plus, the industry is not nearly as centered in LA (or NY) as it once was.\
The days of the stereotypical actor/waiter/model are drawing to a close, indeed...
RTD might well have seen Carnes in Eating Out, but it was also the time he had a gay role in Desperate Housewives and maybe that''s where he noticed him. Russell seems to have liked casting guys who had played gay roles on tv. He did the same thing with the actor who played Coronation Street''s first gay character.
"Plus, the industry is not nearly as centered in LA (or NY) as it once was"\
Really, how do you mean r60. I would think that all the major media companies are based in and work ut of LA or NY.
Is Ryan Kim Carnes''s son? I''m hoping.
He''s looks so much smaller in person. Def. not runway model size.
I don''t like that stupid tattoo on his right arm.
R57, that wasn''t his dick. That was a prosthetic.\
Sorry to burst your bubble.
John Bregar (formerly of DEGRASSI), who someone mentioned previously, is one of those actors who always makes a point of saying he''s straight. Check out any info on him.
It''s SO funny. Because in many parts of this country people just think that actors are "sissies"- whether they''re gay or straight. It always cracks me up to see these actors try to play butch. Who are they trying to impress? (I know- themselves).
R62, R60''s right. Hollywood ain''t what it used to be.
I agree R68. Actors don''t get the fact that most people already think they''re a bunch of fags and nothing they can do will change that.
John Bregar (formerly of DEGRASSI), who someone mentioned previously, is one of those actors who always makes a point of saying he''s straight. Check out any info on him.\
And yet he''s playing gay in a retelling of Romeo & Juliet whereas Verona is transported to Verona University, and he and current Degrassi Gay Shannon Kook-Chun are playing the star-crossed frat boys.
The Voice of the Night
It''s deflection. He''s gay, playing gay roles. So he''s constantly announcing that he''s not gay. That really works, BTW- just look at Tom Cruise. The more you announce your straightness, the less everyone believes it.\
61- of course that''s not a prosthetic. It''s just sad.
he''s handsome though.
According to the commentary on the EATING OUT 2 dvd it is not a prosthetic. \
They do say he was completely shaved though so his "pubes" were fashioned for him by the make-up people. The director thought it looked odd without any pubes so they glued some on.
R75, thanks. \
Leave it to DL to do all the research when it comes to peens! :)
"They do say he was completely shaved though so his "pubes" were fashioned for him by the make-up people. The director thought it looked odd without any pubes so they glued some on."\
I wonder who the lucky make up queen was who was appointed THAT particular task.
Yeah, I remember that too R76. I remember some remark about the GUY who did the gluing enjoyed himself.
Oh yes...straight,straight,straight. The picture at link is not an example of gayface at all.
Someone commented that the commentary on the DVD says the penis was real. If that is true then they are lying because they want people to believe that. It is obvious from the still shots, the animated gifs and from the scene in the movie itself that is fake. It totally looks like a prosthetic over it. Notice how it doenst move like a penis or balls when he takes the robe off. The head stays with the balls totally and the balls both hang together with no movement not even to the skin. You can tell the coloring is off as well.
He is one very handsome guy. Even though he may not be wealthy it would be quite nice to look like that.
