However, when my generation is 75, in about 40 years, it will be a much larger percentage. • My cousins, two sisters in their late 30''s early 40''s have never married. They''ve had a couple of long term relationships...like three or four years duration, but never married. They are straight. Both of them are successful over-achievers and always have been. My mother thinks they have a fear of failure and would want unreasonable guarantees that tehre is a 99% chance of "success" as in for life. And there are no guarnatees of course. I agree, tho. I think the fear of failure really plays into it. Especially if you''re an over-achiever type.
