Finally got around to seeing "Waitress." Liked the movie, loved her, loved Nathan Fillion. Anyone else a fan of hers? (I KNOW we''re fans of Nathan.)She''s so beatiful, and so warm.\
I need a name for the *certain something* quality that Fillion has. Same thing I love about Martin Donovan. Something understated and so attractive. How would you describe it? Other than hot.\
And re the movie, it''s the first time I''d seen Adrienne Shelly and it was a little heartbreaking to watch it. She really was so charming and talented.
Oh so late to party
I know what you mean about Martin Donovan (I will watch him in ANYTHING), but just don''t feel the love for Fillion. \
And I agree re: Russell.
Nathan Fillion is charming.
[quote]I need a name for the *certain something* quality that Fillion has\
Its called ugly.
I saw waitress a few months ago...cute film. Love Keri since her Felicity days, she is adorable.
Keri - is so very...\
I liked her better with longer hair.\
R7 I still can''t believe Felicity jumped the shark essentially because she cut her hair!
I also love Keri Russell. She''s beautiful and talented. She has greater range than she''s generally given credit for; I saw her on stage in Neil LaBute''s Fat Pig, and she was completely convincing as the bitchiest bitch imaginable. I hear that her co-stars on Felicity were crazy about her -- admired her hard work, modesty, good humor, and kindness. Friends of mine who work in a bookstore in Greenwich Village say that she''s very polite when she comes in and even prettier in person.
Felicity jumped the shark because of the writing, not Keri's hair. And actually, I liked her hair best when it had grown out a little, but was still short.
They changed the show in season 2,
I don't like Keri "pubic hair" Russell
i want Scott Speedman, Ben from Felicity. I want to 69 with him butt we rim each others butthole rosebud tight hairy cherries
OP, you are my twin. Love her, ADORE Martin Donovan for a quality I can't quite describe.
Ive always loved Keri, Adrienne, and Martin - I've been a fan of both Martin's and Adrienne's since I saw them star together in Trust many years ago.
I just watched the show Pasadena this summer (found a bootleg DVD online.) Dana Delany is married to Martin Donovan, but has an affair with Nathan Fillion. Lucky bitch.
Andy Griffith was good in "Waitress," too.
Jeremey Sisto was great in Waitress too.
Waitress was a great movie. I remember there was early Oscar talk for Keri Russell but it never panned out. The scene where she finally tells Jeremy Sisto off was amazing. She's very appealing. I'll never understand Hollywood, where someone like her who has it all never really breaks out. Hopefully The Americans will work out well for her.
I've loved Keri since Felicity. I hope her new series goes well.
I don't get why she hasn't become a bigger star. She is naturally beautiful and a great actress. I loved her in Felicity and in Waitress.. Even watched the Mission Impossible sequel she was in just for her. I am not really a fan of Matthew Rhys but I'll check out her new show.
Maybe she didn't want to be bigger?
Now Keri is a stunning actress. Very naturally pretty.
I recently worked with her, and she's a real doll. After Felicity, she wanted nothing to do with the industry and took some time off. Then met husband, had a kid, and decided to work again. She also has a movie coming out in Feb. called "Dark Skies".
R15 The AmericaNs.
Why R27? Was she pissed that everyone blamed Felicity's cancellation on her cutting her hair? I've been a fan since she was on the Mickey Mouse Club. I thought she and on again/off-again boyfriend (and The Voice finalist) Tony Lucca would eventually settle down together. They made a stunning looking couple. I'm really rooting for her to succeed.
"Was she pissed that everyone blamed Felicity's cancellation on her cutting her hair?"
R29 - That was the stupidest excuse ever. Her hair was long again by the Junior (third) year. The problem was that the scripts went bad.
Not the most flattering pic/outfit in R26 link!
It looks like a "Shelia in Accounting -Employee of the Month" award pic in the waiting area at Jiffy Lube.
[r29] It was over cutting her hair- she didn't see what the big deal was. Also she had been working since a kid and needed a break (Episodics are a soul crusher- usually 70-80 hour weeks). Her husband was a carpenter that she met at Barney's and they're a great couple.
Elder gays only like guys who are pencil thin like Olive Oyl and remind them of kids, cause they're pedophiles.
R33 = 18-year-old fatty with Mommy issues
At least that's the only way I can make sense of your post.
R32 - She cut her hair between the first and second seasons. The show lasted four seasons and she had long hair for the last two.
R6 made me laugh. I'll play.
Keri is so very,
Another product of the eighties
More 90s R40
R41, the reference r40 is making is to an 80's commercial.
I loved Waitress, it had a hilarious swansong from Andy Griffith and Keri was great. So I was saddened she lost all momentum then, it looked like she would go on to great things as she did get a bit of buzz in a very strong year.
Keri Russell is hot to death when she is playing cold, bad ass bitches who love to fuck and kill for the mother country.
I didn't know she had kids, but the last I heard of her after Waitress she had this sickly thin heroin chic look in a photoshoot? Presumably for a role.
She doesn't look sickly now.
Waitress is on Lifetime this morning, in about 15 minutes. I haven't seen it yet. It's one of the precious few movies on Lifetime that gets above a 2 star rating in the tv listings, it gets 3 stars.
Waitress is on now, last reminder bump.
Thanks r51. Watching.
Just saw her last week on a Hallmark Hall of Fame movie called "The Magic of Ordinary Days" with Skeet Ulrich and Mare Winningham. It was surprisingly well done and Keri was very good.
Watching Keri in Waitress, I agree she deserves more roles (if she wants them). Seems like she could have any role Amy Adams is up for.
She's kicked ass in The Americans.
Keri is such a good person. I sincerely doubt there is anyone in the industry who has had a bad experience with her. I don't think she has the same ambitions of someone like Amy Adams. She seems happy to live a quiet life and only work on projects that interest her.
R56 - You might be right. She's been careful with the projects she picks.
I really do like "Waitress".
I don't think her body is "stunning" (I don't equate "stunning" with "thin") but she has great shoulders.
She's thin, but she isn't scrawny. She looks like she could go a few rounds kick boxing.
Amy Adams certainly had a lot of ambition early on to break through at a relatively late stage (which is incredible given how young she looks), but if you see the Hollywood Reporter actress roundtable, she's quite withdrawn and doesn't like the atention. She's one that is about the work and clearly not a fame whore.
After Junebug (was there an earlier breakthrough?) she became hot property but like Keri her priorities seem to have changed after having kids. Amy is clearly not a supporting actress but she always gets the very best supporting parts. Keri could do with getting such parts. Michelle Monaghan is another underrated/used one.
Keri cheats on her husband, according to a blind item.
The new season of "The Americans" begins on 2/26.
I'm looking forward to it. Thanks R65
Rumor has it she's taken up with her TV husband from The Americans. He's beautiful.
R67 he's not gay?
Fuck no I don't like Keri Russell. Felicity ass.
@R68 he's not gay, he played a gay on brothers&sisters, that shit show
Keri has moved passed Felicity.
R71 Have you moved "passed" third grade?
The Cheryl Hines marriage thread got me thinking about how great Waitress was - cast, story, everything.
I loved Waitress, it's one of the few flicks I have on DVD. That movie was a gem and Keri was great in the role. It was bittersweet going in upon first view that the script (and fellow actress) was murdered.
I had never heard of or seen Nathan Fillion before this movie, and became an instant fan. They had wonderful chemistry, but both of them are pretty talented actors. Cheryl Hines was actually pretty great as well.
Haven't seen her new series yet, but i'm aware of the affair with co-star and subsequent divorce. Shit happens.
Austenland is hilarious.
Actually I first saw Nathan in Waitress too. Soon after I watched Firefly.
I watched Austenland this weekend, based on [R76]'s reply. It was fun to watch and kept me interested the entire time. And i had a king-sized hangover to boot, so...
I place Austenland in the will-watch-again category.
