Why pay? Most of the people complaning above are the ones who paid. They're complaining because primetime means the whole place slows to a crawl.

Before they set up the membership fee, DL used to ask for donations. I used to donate.

When they started the $12 subscription fee in 2003, I was there the first day and I updated every year until last year when I realized it's better to not be a member.

If you're a member, you don't know for certain if primetime is on and if you're wasting your time posting during those hours. The only time it's worthwhile posting is when primetime is off.

This fucking site was on PT all day yesterday [Saturday] and well into the night!! What the hell is going on ? why is this happening ?

I don't know if this is the right thread to bump because the search function on here is... a bit lacking. But, seems like we've been in Primetime for the better part of a week or is it only certain threads?

I think it's been a week. Probably because the site was being spammed to shit by people posting divisive bullshit about "white people" and cities burning trying to stir up division. It's been less busy but definitely nice not having this look like Twitter right now.

It's the new DL -- you gotta pay to play.

It is only 1.99 per month! If people can't afford that, they have bigger problems than DL primetime..

Funny thing about yesterday, with a pandemic, economic collapse and rioting and burning in the streets. Plus a warm weekend in many places. Why wouldn't everyone be on the DL, especially if Primetime was down for all the useless freeloaders.

And just think, the sky was so blue that day.

The useless freeloaders are the ones turning this place into Twitter. I think if Muriel just changed it so you couldn't start a thread unless you were a paying member, and reinstated karma for everyone else so you can't just come on and post immediately, it would be a good mixture.

It's also telling that the Royals threads and all the "white people y'all" threads have all but vanished.

R38, I agree. Thread view counts were all restarted to zero, so it's possible the karma system is back in place, and all non-paying members are restarting from zero in order to post again.
