Creepy ass blind item - Very Bad Things
From Crazy Days and Nights:
"I've heard this before, and allegedly Very Bad Things is loosely based on it to some extent. However, I always thought of it as a Hollywood legend until I recently met someone in the producer's family. When I say family, there is one widow and one child. No other family. None.
A fairly minor producer died within the past month or so. It wasn't really noteworthy for the most part, but there were three or four very happy actors to see him pass. All of the actors are aging, but not George Burns old or anything. In fact, they are still A list at least by reputation. Could they carry a movie OR television show on their own anymore? Probably not. Are they regularly in movies AND television? Yes. See, back in the day there was a party like you could only have in Hollywood's glory days. Martinis, cigars and lots of beautiful women. Well it turns out that one of the beautiful women didn't go home at the end of the night. There was some incident involving either five or six actors. Two have died. Not knowing what to do, these actors got a studio gofer, now our dead producer and told him to get rid of the body and not tell anyone about it or tell anyone where the body was buried. Throughout the remainder of the producer's life, these actors took care of him, but were always afraid he would spill the secret because he was the only one who knew where the body was buried. No body, no case. Now, they are just worried that something will show up in the estate sale and some person will stumble onto a letter or some other evidence hidden in a desk drawer which will come back to haunt them. Maybe that's why one of the actors offered to buy the house with everything in it at a price that is twice what the place is worth. Still waiting to see if it will be accepted, but there won't be an estate sale yet for sure. The actors think they are being careful and that their true motives are unknown. Not at all the case, but the producer's widow is happy to take their money and be done with it. One hint is they have all been in at least one western. Although it could be on television OR in a movie."

I don't trust CDAN for blinds but...If not for the age issue I would say Kirk Douglas. Does he even remember his own name? Weren't there rumors about Kirk and a woman who disappeared?

Is Sharon Stone at all in this mess?

And I don' trust ENTY's blinds either, many are made up or exaggerated.
However, just for shits and giggles, I'll say that this story could have happened in the nineties. Many stars of that era are still around, although none are burning up the box office. And martinis and cigars made a big comeback at the time, and the film "Very Bad Things" came out in 1998.

I remember once reading some book many moons ago which stated that Frank Sinatra and his Rat Pack Pigs had a party and a prostitute was murdered. They had the body of the woman rolled in a rug and had her body disposed of. They said Frank Sinatra couldn't have cared less about the dead woman because she was a prostitute which he considered to be disposable garbage and the prostitute was a woman which he considered women to be useful only for sex with.

I'm sure Kirk Douglas has a lot of skeletons in his closet but he's 98 - definitely "George Burns old" per the BI. I'm thinking actors of the 70s - Jack Nicholson, Warren Beatty, Ryan O'Neal, maybe Elliott Gould. Dennis Hopper died a few years ago and was good friends with Nicholson.

Is this a recent BI?
If so, I'd say r5's guess is good. Add Dustin Hoffman into the mix, and I can ABSOLUTELY see a 70's party involving Jack Nicholson descending into a nasty mess with a body to dispose of.

So what producer has died in the last few months? I did a search and couldn't find anything.
If this was about a long-dead producer, I'd say Saul David. Whatever went on in his life was pretty messed up, to the point his first wife went insane, and his daughter is now self-publishing books claiming there's a cult of cannibals in Hollywood.
He was a gofer back in the 1940s, but went into publishing before going back to Hollywood. He wouldn't have been a gofer when this took place, I don't think. Still, if there ever was a small-time producer who seemed to be around just because he had a knack for cleaning up messes, Saul David was it.

A-list actors are Tom Cruise, Travolta and Spacey and the dead model is River Phoenix.

R9 isn't it suppose to be from old Hollywood?

Might one of them be Clint Eastwood? Old, though not "George Burns old", and has done a number of westerns.

This is definitely Matt Damon and Ben Affleck.

Have read at least 2 biographies describing "models" who died of "drug overdoses" after having wild sex at elite Hollywood parties. They were quietly disposed of and forgotten. In one case the girl's father from Sweden came searching, and was told a bunch of lies.

Just imagine the evil shit that's going to leak about the Playboy Mansion after Hef kicks it.
Then they'll place his corpse pointed downward over Marilyn Monroe's corpse. Yes, he bought the space over her body so he could fuck her forever.
I always found that quite evil.

R3 truest words. I've submitted six blind items to him and five have been posted (with pertinent details missing or altered.) Four were things I made up to start shit and one was a true thing I submitted out of spite for involved parties which he changed details to. The only one I've submitted that he scrapped was actually true, but involved Aimee Mann who he's personally friends with and Won't hint ill about

Another one pulled straight from Enty's ass, I think. The only Hollywood producer who comes to mind in that time frame is Harve Bennett but he was married more than once and had several children.

R10 If this was old Hollywood, that puts a different spin on it. There are few left from the old Hollywood days. I wonder when this was originally posted. OP, do you know when this was posted?

I don't think you're the only troll feeding him blinds, R15. He's posted a bunch of blinds about a certain heartthrob's pregnantbride, blinds that obviously come from a deranged and jealous fangirl.
Or maybe Enty himself is the jealous fangirl?

Prostitute or model or party girl dies at A-list Hollywood party ain't exactly an original story. Besides, "Very Bad Things" had nothing to do with Hollywood types and was basically trash from the screwed-up psyche of Peter Berg.

[quote]This BI is from June, 2007
Okay, so it's a "fairly minor producer" who died somewhere in the "past month or so" from June, 2007. I'm assuming American, which leaves quite a few candidates:
Steve Krantz, Randy Stone (kid actor who had one role, then suddenly in 1981 became a successful casting producer), Burt Topper (low-budget producer for AIP), and Stan Daniels.
Bigger name producers that died during this timeframe would be Carlo Ponti and Sidney Sheldon, plus Thomas W. Moore (president of ABC).
There was a producer named Ed Friendly who worked on LHotP of all things, who died June 17th, and that blind item was posted June 20th. So I'm thinking it may have been completely invented based on the recent death of Friendly.

Steve Krantz had two kids so he's out.

Let's have a contest.
Everyone submit a fake blind item to ENTY, the winner is the first to get his published!

Ah, good point, R27.
That rules out a bunch of people: Stone was gay with no widow or kid. Burt Topper has a widow but no children. Stan Daniels had four kids. Friendly had two kids. Carlo Ponti had more than one kid.
Sidney Sheldon fits, though: widow Alexandra and one child, Mary Sheldon, the novelist. But he's not a "fairly minor producer" by any stretch, and the story would have to date to about 1940, making the actors in this story SUPER old. Actually, making them dead.
I give up. This BI is bogus.

The blind is likely a mix of Hollywood folklore, pure bullshit and something Enty heard in a bar.
Have women died at sex parties in HW? Yes, unquestionably. Does Enty give a shit about that? No. Whenever I've seen one of his blinds about some kid being abused in the business or someone being killed or other criminality I think, go to the fucking cops , then, if you know this is true and you actually care.

R30 the Hollywood crowd doesn't care about morality, ethics, the law,and crime. Remember how many signatures from the rich and famous in Hollywood were in favor of the child rapist Roman Polanski to be allowed to be free from paying a price for his crime? However, if the average person commits a crime he or she is thrown in jail and ruined for life. Like the socialite Babe Paley once said, morals are for the poor and lower classes, we don't have to answer to anyone.

Here is a link of the famous people who have died in the 2007. Ingmar Bergman died that year though it states he was married ,but no children are listed. And he was a film director not a producer. Furthermore, the blind item states a minor producer and Ingmar Bergman was very big. Also, in this list there is a producer by the name of Andy Sidaris and he was married and had one child. However, his films were not made in the glory days of Hollywood and I don't know who this guy is? He seems like a C rated producer by the film titles.

I thought maybe this was Arron Spelling ,but he had two children and he died in June 2006. furthermore, he wasn't a producer in the glory days in Hollywood and he wasn't a minor producer either. However what is interesting he was connected with doing Western film projects?

Sidaris seems like the right kind of guy and around at the right time but he had two kids and wasn't a gofer when he started out.

Look for L.A. real estate listings where a feature is your own private wood chipper. Or better yet, see if pottery was a hobby, with your own private kiln on the premises. Those are dead giveaways. No pun intended.
Hog farming as a hobby is another one. There are clues if you know where to look. Although, the simplest way is to take your beautiful sailing boat out to sea and chum the waters with a "special treat."

Yes, R31, but it seems karma pays them back in ways that hurt them. Polanski's movies - all of them - in the past ten to fifteen years have been misfires, badly executed or boring. I realize he was busted during the editing of the one with Pierce Brosnan and Kim Catrall, but there is no excuse for the others. Big budget ineptitude all around.
I would say the last good one was "Frantic" with Harrison Ford.

Well one of the key pieces of information is that some "name" actors kept this guy working. So who could that be?
Guys like Kurt Russell?
