Why is it tolerated? Without bottoms, half of you wouldn't be able to function. Bottoms provide an important service and yet they're ridiculed and mercilessly mocked. The shaming has got to stop!
Bottom Shaming - Why is this still allowed to go on in 2015?
by Anonymous | reply 36 | February 20, 2021 9:12 PM |
Since bottoming is seen as being passive, that leads to a comparison to women, which then leads to negative adjectives given to women.

I really enjoyed the bottom shaming ep of LOOKING in s1. I hope we're moving past this now. In my circle of 20 and a 30-something gays the friends who are vers or "pure" bottoms have no shame in declaring their preferred role. But, I also realize I live in a fairly liberal, progressive, big city bubble. For the record, vers here.

My co-workers always shame me about this. They're the worst.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | January 25, 2015 10:25 AM |
R1 has a good point. Bottom shaming and misogyny are essentially the same thing.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | January 25, 2015 10:37 AM |
It's amusing when people make observations like r4's and think they're saying something profound and new. Everyone with a basic education already knows.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | January 25, 2015 11:12 AM |
Funny how gays think it's okay to slice and dice anyone and everyone on the planet, but God forbid anyone should say something even remotely critical about you whiny pussies.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | January 25, 2015 11:22 AM |
Who bottom shames?
I only hear of it on DL
by Anonymous | reply 7 | January 25, 2015 12:27 PM |
OP is a bossy bottom.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | January 25, 2015 12:29 PM |
R6 what the fuck are you doing on a gay website? Take your cunt elsewhere.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | January 25, 2015 12:31 PM |
Bottom shaming is a very real thing, R7. People have to suffer through it all day long, at home, at work, on the internet, by friends, by strangers. It can get demeaning.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | January 25, 2015 12:33 PM |
OP, is a shopbottom.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | January 25, 2015 12:35 PM |
It's because secretly, we're all bottoms.
I truly believe that there are no exclusive tops out there.
This was bad, but I once posed as an all-top, hot military guy with 12-pack abs, and an eight inch dick, with a dick pic in the profile.
You will not BELIEVE how many guys who claimed to be "tops" hit on me.
Yes I was trolling, but I only did it for fun.
I'm actually glad I did, because it really proved to me that most guys are full of shit. They all claim to be one thing, but really aren't - especially when it comes to tops.
Sorry, but we're all bottoms. Even the "tops."

#bottomsmatter
by Anonymous | reply 13 | January 25, 2015 12:39 PM |
Bottoms have more strength and fortitude than any top.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | January 25, 2015 12:41 PM |
What's the bullshit about being bottom-shamed at WORK?
by Anonymous | reply 15 | January 25, 2015 12:41 PM |
Yes Rose, he told his work colleagues that he's a bottom. He even presented hole for them.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | January 25, 2015 12:47 PM |
When I find out an attractive guy is a full-blown bottom, my dick gets super hard and I fall in love. No shaming here! Quite the contrary…I encourage bottoming.

#BottomsAreTops!
by Anonymous | reply 18 | January 25, 2015 1:03 PM |
R9 is one of those whiny pussies, who refuses to top or bottom. He just wants you to "put the lotion on his back", and massage lightly.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | January 25, 2015 1:12 PM |
R12 your experience on a sleazy website proves nothing.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | January 25, 2015 1:16 PM |
Oooh, someone hit a nerve with R20.
Probably one of those "tops" (aka secret bottoms) who hits on other "tops."
Get over yourself.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | January 25, 2015 1:20 PM |
R9? I'm with R6.
When you guys stop hating on women, perceived "feminine" traits will be totally acceptable.
Still, I'm not crazy about some of what our society terms "feminine" traits myself. These traits include learned helplessness, whining & pouting, manipulation, and being unwilling to make one's own decisions or to take responsibility for one's actions.
These are traits unattractive in anyone, male or female. How they got labeled as "feminine," I will never know.
Besides -- didn't you guys ever hear of "butch in the streets, femme in the sheets"?

Most bottoms are by nature submissive and love humiliation. Truth be told, most would adore having their asses beaten cherry red and then roughly fucked, so that they're sore inside and out. Give them what they want (but are too embarrassed to request) and you'll have them eating out of your hand.

I luvs me a hot bottom. Nothing hotter than that.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | January 25, 2015 3:00 PM |
These are the ways I deal with bottom shaming:
1) I fuck the shamer's man
2) The more they throw shade, the more guys I let fuck me.
A big cock and a hole full of baby batter is my revenge.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | January 25, 2015 3:05 PM |
Honestly a lot of the really passionate total bottoms type are more likely to be annoying personalities IMO. Certainly not all, but I think that is where it comes from, the stereotype of a bitchy bottom.
And ain't nothin wrong with bottoming, I do it myself sometime. But honestly, in the gay world it isn't hard to find someone to bottom, they are a dime a dozen. The truth is a good top is always going to be more valued.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | January 25, 2015 3:06 PM |
I have never shamed a bottom in my life. When a man is a total bottom I love it.
I think this only lives in the minds of DL, I can't imagine anyone shaming a bottom...for what?
by Anonymous | reply 29 | January 25, 2015 3:11 PM |
Ever hear the saying, "A Good Man Is Hard To Find?"
It's the same thing in the gay world, except it's "A Good Top Is Hard To Find."
There's something about being in the passive role, that makes someone in the dominant role to be a hot commodity. And this applies to both men and women.
I guess as humans, we're just hard-wired that way.
