Now let's see: whom do we know, who is married with twins, is/was a known slut, was so scary thin just a few months ago that people started talking HIV, and has a history of oversharing?

I get why some people want to get married and have kids like straight people, and I support that even if I don't want it personally. But I do not get why gay men would insist on having biological children. It's unnecessarily complicated and frankly a waste of medical and economic resources, let along depriving many orphaned or unwanted children an opportunity for a home. And to do it through sperm washing?

Could be NPH. But the husband being a lawyer is the only problem... Maybe it's a roleplay thing.
Jesse Tyler on the otherhand is married to a lawyer. But they don't have kids.
It could also be some closeted actor. The baby in the illustration in the article is inside a closet. They could have be drawn that baby anywhere. And yet it was inside a closet.

Answer to your query lies in why so many straight men, women and couples use surrogates; they want children genetically related to themselves or at leas their spouse.
Also not to sound unkind but healthy white infants/children are a premium commodity. With the advent of safe and legal birth control along with abortion you don't have orphanages full of white infants and children any longer. Well at least not in the USA and Western Europe. The places that do such as various Eastern European countries and some located in certain states of the USA do not allow gays to adopt.
Adoption is also risky for both gays and straights; there is a chance until final that the birth mother, father, or some family member will want the child.
Surrogacy is booming for gays and straights because it is a finite business transaction. Straights and gays from all over the world come to the USA for surrogacy due to our strong contract laws.
Sunday New York Times Magazine a few months ago did a cover article on surrogacy in the USA. It was supposed to be about the business in general but as with many other NYT pieces focused mostly on gays both in the USA and those who come here to use such services.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | January 15, 2015 11:43 AM |
I'm guessing NPH, too. He looks sickly.
Even though he's HIV+, he can still live well into his 80's, especially with the kind of money he has. So it's not too bad.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | January 15, 2015 11:51 AM |
Cannot be NPH, unless all this occurred rather recently post arrival of his children.
Those kids look exactly like NPH so unless he is and something went wrong....

Same sex married couple with twins. Actor and lawyer. Actor is hiv positive.
Have no fucking idea but the usual suspects don't fit all of these clues. Even without adding the rather ambiguous, murky clue of "character actor."
Unless Simon Halls, a publicist, has a law degree. But I don't think he does.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | January 15, 2015 12:11 PM |
Bomer and Halls have talked about going to Growing Generations for their surrogacy. But Halls isn't a lawyer.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | January 15, 2015 12:12 PM |

Testing poz does not equate to being rail thin and looking like you have AIDS. I've been poz for 12 yrs and have never lost weight or looked, as one so eloquently stared, 'sickly'.
I'm not saying it isn't nph but this bizarre wishful thinking some of you have is nauseating. Something I've never even experienced on my one pill a day.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | January 15, 2015 12:23 PM |

According to the article, the non-HIV partner is the one who fathered the children.
Even after revealing that we had no intention of using the "sperm washing" technique because the non-HIV-positive partner would be involved in the process
The HIV actor says he's a dad but nowhere does he say he's the biological father.
So it's an actor who's lawyer partner is the biological father.
Credit goes to the 450 high-tech fertility clinics in the U.S., 75 of them in California. The Centers for Disease Control keeps statistics on IVF success rates by age; many clinics in Los Angeles beat the national averages. "California is widely regarded to be the most friendly state in terms of assisted reproduction," says attorney Richard Vaughn, whose twin sons with actor husband Tommy Woelfel (Mr. & Mrs. Smith) were born with the help of an egg donor and surrogate mother: "Our courts are very friendly to the intended parents and their rights." In California, case law makes clear that "regardless of genetics, intended parents are the natural parents," adds Vaughn. "If not for their intent, the child would never have come into existence." His firm, the International Fertility Law Group — along with some of the world's most famous fertility clinics, sperm banks, egg donation agencies and surrogacy brokers — has made L.A. a capital of high-tech fertility.

Can't be Bomer-Halls. Bomer's not a character actor. Halls' isn't a lawyer. They're regulars at the Growing Generation agency. And their twins are not the right age for twins in the article. Bomer-Halls twins are too old.
The article seems to imply that the actor-lawyer couple had twins as their first born. They tried a different surrogacy agency before going to Growing Generations.

Tuc Watkins might not be "married", but when talking about gay people papers don't always say partnered, common law or living in sin when describing relationships.
And being a blind item, maybe the lawyer bit is a red herring or a hint just confusing the fact he played a lawyer himself.
It's also possible that its someone with a relationship on the downlow or at least out of the spotlight.
To which there was or has been rumors of him, at the very least of being a monogamous slut.
And the way it's all phrased sounds enough how he is in interviews.
Though Jesse could fit too, especially if they haven't announced the baby news.
Otherwise we're probably looking at someone that's been outside of popularity for a while or possibly outside of the country or its a virtually unknown person..
and this blind item is set for us to go through the list so other DL'ers can waggle their fingers at us for wishing hiv on people, when they should be doing it for wishing kids on people, those things are worse than herpes and crabs combined.

NPH is HIV+ you can tell by his poz-face. Whether or not it's him in the article is something else.
Forget the fact that an HIV status does not indicate a true health status and most of the positive men I know are healthier than people without the virus
Wrong: The above is from the website. That's like morbidly obese people saying their fat but healthy. Wrong the two are mutually exclusive. Same with HIV.
So I the whole credibility of the website is under question.

Partner is a lawyer. It ain't NPH and Burtka. Otherwise, it would be pointless to write a story that is so potentially revealing and then try to hide it. Why even write it? It's also not NPH's writing style. He constantly adds words like "super" to his writing.

This is the new way to revive one's career. Coming out is not enough. Now you write an article about your HIV positive status and "sperm washing" and include just enough details so that speculation builds and builds until internet gossip comes to a consensus on who you must be. Then a big controversy on being identified and "outed" on gossip sites. Then the "brave public announcement." Next you become a Hollywood cause celebre. And the parts start rolling in. Boom!
by Anonymous | reply 74 | January 15, 2015 3:40 PM |

Ya'll hear Jesse Tyler Ferguson's first time story? It's up there with the chicken of the sea bit. I'd have no trouble believing he's secretly poz. Man still sports a red ribbon and that shit went out of fashion decades ago.

At this point, there is no excuse for not taking precautions. R97 uses a common tactic of many failed thinkers, using the meaningless phrase "sex-negative" to denounce any gay man for being concerned that other gay men are ignoring safer sex instructions and are still seroconverting.
We need a cure for HIV and AIDS. Period. Those pharmaceutical companies would gladly come out with one if they could make it profitbale. Then we will be free to solve the underlying issue of why so many gay men are okay with casual sex but fear commitment.

Being gay and being a pedo are not the same thing. A gay man ought to know that, no? Unless, it's different for you, hmm?

The goal should be to be able to have sex without needing condoms or pills. STDs were the reason they used to stigmatize sex before marriage, but those same people stigmatized all forms of gay sex and denied the existence of same-sex romantic love. Some say monogamy doesn't work. I say, "well, have you tried it?"
by Anonymous | reply 104 | January 15, 2015 5:47 PM |
I would think the goal would be to have a level playing field, so that straight and gay people can have sex without risking a major disease.
Monogamy is a wonderful thing for some people, and it shouldn't be dismissed, but it is not right for everyone, nor need it be.
So "sex negative" is rather an appropriate term in some cases.

Then it becomes 95 times as long when you consider the article most likely was penned by someone who's not famous.

That's 10 down and 40 to go, Miss Kilgallen.

R100 VARIETY explained this morning, that Bradley Cooper is very popular among actors.
I think the role got it for him.

It's BD Wong.
by Anonymous | reply 120 | January 15, 2015 7:32 PM |
BD Wong is not married and does not have twins, R120.
Honestly, you people are just throwing names out without even checking the basic facts.
R120, DIAF.
by Anonymous | reply 121 | January 15, 2015 7:39 PM |
B D Wong is no longer with his partner who was not a lawyer. Also, one of his twin sons died at birth. Probably not him.
by Anonymous | reply 122 | January 15, 2015 7:41 PM |

Tuc Watkins is not a) a household name, b) indiscreet or oversharing, or c) scarily thin. He has always been a pretty laid back guy in terms of his private life.
by Anonymous | reply 133 | January 16, 2015 12:05 AM |
[132] To your credit, Madonna is increasingly resembling one of those poz bareback pigs who eventually give berf to twin fists at the climax of the porn movie.

by Anonymous | reply 143 | January 16, 2015 2:41 AM |
For what it's worth...
This does sound like it could have been [italic]written[/italic] by Simon Halls for NPH (he is his publicist.) Halls has a very specific writing style and this article matches a lot of what I've seen of what he's written. Specifically what sticks out is a rhythm throughout the piece - a lot of one, two, three - and a lot of cause/effect sentences. I would diagram it but I honestly don't care that much.
by Anonymous | reply 144 | January 16, 2015 3:41 AM |
I happen to know it is Godzilla...secretly married to King Ghidorah who has since left acting and is now a corporate lawyer for Monster energy drinks. Godzilla has twin sons from a previous marriage, Godzuki and Minilla.

I wonder if THR is pissed that this story didn't pick up much traction.
by Anonymous | reply 149 | January 20, 2015 3:47 PM |
Towleroad and Breitbart are the only ones that picked it up.
by Anonymous | reply 150 | January 20, 2015 4:16 PM |
Some are assuming the actor is famous or a household name. In all likelihood they are not. For all we know all this person has done is fill in a crowd scene or had some one line walk on parts.
by Anonymous | reply 151 | January 20, 2015 4:36 PM |
There are so many twins in Hollywood, it's revolting. More then likely the wives didn't even carry the babies. Someone should tell these assholes that they are putting their babies in danger because twins are high risk, they could come out blind, deaf or mentally impaired. People just care that they can say they have babies, they don't seriously care about the babies.
by Anonymous | reply 152 | January 20, 2015 6:35 PM |
Why did everyone dismiss the hot unknown guy in R41 ? Tommy Waffle ..... if they changed details about one of the partners, perhaps it is that the actor is a successful character actor. Everything else seems to fit.
by Anonymous | reply 153 | January 20, 2015 7:13 PM |
Tommy Woelful is a SPIN INSTRUCTOR. No one cares if a SPIN INSTRUCTOR has HIV!
It's Neal Patrick Harris, he's testing the waters on coming out as HIV positive.

Tuc Watkins is single, period. I know this for a fact because mutual friends in LA offered to set me up with him when I was down there last week. However I don't live in LA, and I'm currently partnered (a relationship that is circling the drain as I type).

Children who are up for adoption these days are quite likely to have very serious physical and/or mental issues (fetal alcohol syndrome, attachment disorder) and be very high maintenance and not necessarily affectionate. Not the best choices for a busy celeb who just needs another person in his entourage to love him.
by Anonymous | reply 204 | February 2, 2017 11:34 AM |

I read the article and I don't think it is NPH because he started and had huge success as leading man or kid, in Doggie Houser, this guy gave up the leading man idea and found success as a character actor, it wasn't someone who switched from lead to character, he never was lead. I think it's some working, not famous actor out there.
