WEHT Robert Gant?

I remember when he was interviewed by a gay magazine (like Out or The Advocate) during the heyday of "Queer as Folk," and he spoke of himself at circuit parties as if he were part of the prom royalty of America's entire gay subculture.

What is he doing today?

by Anonymousreply 61August 3, 2018 4:05 PM

Truvada.

by Anonymousreply 1December 18, 2014 3:06 AM

Gant is involved in a number of philanthropic organizations with a great deal of focus going to the issue of aging in the gay community. He currently resides in Los Angeles. -- wiki

i assume he does a lot of shopping.

His partner is NBC president Bob Greenblatt.

by Anonymousreply 3December 18, 2014 3:11 AM

He pops up on occasion as a lawyer on "The Young & the Restless.)

by Anonymousreply 4December 18, 2014 3:53 AM

Doesn't he make shirts now?

by Anonymousreply 5December 18, 2014 4:03 AM

I'm sure he chose Greenblatt regardless of Greenblatt's fortune.

Talentless but married well...

by Anonymousreply 10December 18, 2014 2:18 PM

It's funny, if he weren't an d-list actor, most people would think he was a great catch - Ivy League undergrad, top tier law school, job at one of the better law firms, good looking (or at least I think so).

If he's stuck to law, he could potentially be a partner at a big law firm, making around $500K per year.

While he's traded lawyer drudgery for the fabulous life of a celebrity, I wonder whether he questions if he made a career mistake when he's doing whatever he does to make ends meet.

by Anonymousreply 11December 18, 2014 2:24 PM

He's with the president of NBC. He doesn't need to make ends meet.

by Anonymousreply 12December 18, 2014 2:30 PM

R11 you realize that being a lawyer is no longer job security?

There are more lawyers out there, than there are jobs. Trust me, even if he was a partner he would be laid off by now. Then what?

At least being involved in the arts (even at a D-level) he gets to control his career. Develop his own project, work in theater.

With all the lawyers unemployed now, I doubt he is questioning his career choice at all.

he has a couple of national commercials out (and they do pay well) and is recurring on Y&R as attorney David Sherman. Plus he had a recurring role on Tomorrow People last year.

Hardly struggling. In Hollywood if you can get acting gigs, you are doing well.

by Anonymousreply 13December 18, 2014 2:32 PM

Maytag repairman in rather embarrassing positions posing as various appliances. Downward spiral even if it did pay well.

by Anonymousreply 14December 18, 2014 2:34 PM

I always find it telling when you hear about people like him - studying law - promising law career threw it all away because he wanted to act..no...you knew you were a good looking guy and traded on your vanity for a career...

by Anonymousreply 15December 18, 2014 2:35 PM

Colin Ferguson is the Maytag Man.

by Anonymousreply 16December 18, 2014 2:37 PM

R14 If Shakespearean are ok with doing commercials, why not Gant?

no matter what a buck is a buck. Why turn down paying work.

by Anonymousreply 17December 18, 2014 2:44 PM

It should be Shakespearean ACTORS are ok with doing commercials, why not Gant?

by Anonymousreply 18December 18, 2014 2:49 PM

His husband is absolutely hideous!

by Anonymousreply 19December 18, 2014 2:57 PM

any pics of the husband?

For fucks sake R20, read the thread!! Gawd!

Greenblatt and Gant.

In fairness you would think that Greenblatt would use his pull to get Gant cast on NBC shows.

Look at Les Moonves & Julia Chen.

But both men have kept their careers separate.

The only NBC show Gant has appeared on was Sean Saves the World

by Anonymousreply 23December 18, 2014 6:19 PM

Someone on Datalounge posted about him giving MAJOR attitude at the gym back in his early days before he was on "QAF." They also said they heard he escorted back then.

by Anonymousreply 24December 18, 2014 6:19 PM

I have heard a lot of rumors about Gant's attitude when he was a pretty young thing. Maybe he has mellowed with age.

by Anonymousreply 25December 18, 2014 6:22 PM

I'd like to see his cock.

by Anonymousreply 26December 18, 2014 6:23 PM

Luise, you can only get away with saying that because there's no one else still alive who can contradict you.

by Anonymousreply 29December 18, 2014 6:48 PM

So true, R29, so true.

by Anonymousreply 30December 18, 2014 6:52 PM

He should become a print model.

by Anonymousreply 31December 18, 2014 7:00 PM

He could do pornos

by Anonymousreply 32December 18, 2014 7:19 PM

He was by far the hottest thing on QAF. It's a little disappointed to see him going the trophy second wife route.

by Anonymousreply 33December 30, 2014 1:39 PM

I remember he did some film with Chad Allen after QAF and the body had gone downhill... let's be frank, that's all he had.

by Anonymousreply 34December 30, 2014 1:45 PM

He looked very obviously roided up on Queer as Folk and earlier on Friends. I guess he had to stop at some point.

by Anonymousreply 35December 30, 2014 1:54 PM

His body was stunning when he did Friends and Popular. It wasn't showed off to its full effect on QAF IMO.

by Anonymousreply 38August 3, 2018 10:37 AM

He was on Y&R as a gay attorney. But that show doesn't know how to write for gay characters so it went no where. Now they have 2 lame lesbians who are rarely on. Think NUKE.

That sounds like a drug therapy for aging gays who only had their looks to buoy any chance of being financially self-sufficient. Gant at least had a law degree.

by Anonymousreply 48August 3, 2018 3:01 PM

He played the STRAIGHT romantic lead opposite Debbie Gibson in the Hallmark movie "Summer of Dreams "

r45 Imagine being remembered for that.

by Anonymousreply 57August 3, 2018 3:46 PM

I hugely doubt that. Read his interviews listed above about his circuit party philosophy. Even in his 30s and 40s he saw himself as superior to mere mortals.

by Anonymousreply 58August 3, 2018 3:47 PM

[quote] He was by far the hottest thing on QAF.

Not with Matt Battaglia still alive and kicking.

by Anonymousreply 59August 3, 2018 3:52 PM

He's a very good-looking, fit man. He has not lost his looks. Robert Gant has aged very well. Would like to know what his boyfriend Guy Davis does.

by Anonymousreply 60August 3, 2018 4:05 PM

Waitaminute- he traded the president of NBC in for THAT????

Oh, Bobby.
