If there were a song titled "Pussy Cow" it would make me laugh because pussy cow always makes me laugh.

It's the anti-melody

I of course didn't include rap among the choices since it's not music and therefore can't constitute a song.

Where the hell did you find that r17? Hilariously awful.

Barbie Girl was social satire. I think it's a cute little song but it obviously rubs a lot of people the wrong way.

"Scream and Shout" by will.i.am featuring Britney Spears

I can't believe this charted so high. There's a part of the song when both go "oh-we-oh-we-oh-we-oh". I mean we knew it would be shitty if these 2 non-talents combined their shittiness, but the song is shockingly bad.

Awww, R14 - that song ain't so bad. It makes me smile because my friend, Kim, got the nickname 'Kimmie Coco Puff' for being a pothead.

by Anonymousreply 34November 19, 2014 12:47 PM

R29 stole my answer. So I'll go with the lesser-known but equally atrocious auto-tune mess that one of the Guidice daughters released.

Just a suggestion for folks - if you're linking to a video, you may want to identify the song in your post too. If a thread lasts for a while and the link gets broken, we have no idea what song you're naming.

[quote]Barbie Girl was social satire. I think it's a cute little song but it obviously rubs a lot of people the wrong way.

Because the production is so goddamn annoying. It's shrill, hyperactive and in-your-face, and the cutesy vocals don't help much.

R25: If you dislike Morris Albert's version of that song, maybe you should listen to it being sung by someone who can actually feel whatever feeling can be gotten out of this song, in this case Nina Simone:

"Everybody (Backstreet's Back)" had some of the most awful, douchebaggiest lyrics of any song written before "Blurred Lines" came out. And since it was marketed towards preteen girls, it makes me sick to my stomach to listen to it.

by Anonymousreply 68November 19, 2014 11:55 PM

I actually liked The Black Eyed Peas until the moment I heard " I gotta feeling". It is the blandest of David Guetta's songs. After that song, they only got more laughable. Their Superbowl Performance with Usher was the second worst in history next to Madonna's. Actually, it might be worse. They are a band that made a lot of money off of EDM music, but their music was best before that.

by Anonymousreply 69November 19, 2014 11:59 PM

Did you know that the English actor Trevor Peacock also wrote the Herman's Hermits hit "Mrs. Brown, You've Got A Lovely Daughter"? He also had a stab at American-style rockabilly:

by Anonymousreply 72November 20, 2014 8:30 PM

Totally disagree, R4 .

That song is prescient and only becomes more and more relevant as time marches on.

Doesn't have the greatest melody, by it is haunting in its own way.

I think people on acid would probably appreciate it more than others.

Am I wrong, DL? You're opinion means SO much to me.
