Joni Ernst won?

That crazy fucking cunt WON?

Seriously?

How dumb are people in Iowa? She makes Palin look like a Rhodes scholar?

by Anonymousreply 81January 24, 2019 3:43 PM

I've noticed tons of women get to congress without the qualifications nor the intelligence. Pelosi, Palin, Ernst, Wasserman Schultz.

by Anonymousreply 1November 14, 2014 9:17 PM

Why does she wear the wig?

by Anonymousreply 2November 14, 2014 9:20 PM

What state are you from, asshole? I'm happy to do a Google search showing what morons you and your fellow state residents are as well. Low Dem turnout across the nation did this in most states, but at least Iowa I can still brag about Tom Harkin and being Obama's launching pad for the presidency. Without Iowa, Clinton for the last 6 years.

by Anonymousreply 3November 14, 2014 9:24 PM

Maybe dumbass Braley shouldn't have insulted farmers.

by Anonymousreply 4November 14, 2014 9:32 PM

Yeah, Iowa is a pretty literate state. Not sure what happened, but it probably had something to do with her phony "I'm just a good ol' hog butcher like y'all" schtick.

Did they redistrict recently in IA?

by Anonymousreply 5November 14, 2014 9:33 PM

What R4 said, without being a horse's ass about it.

Braley committed the ultimate sin by being caught on videotape making a snarky crack about farmers.

It's a shame, really, to have the polar opposite of Tom Harkin take that seat.

by Anonymousreply 6November 14, 2014 9:36 PM

Good Lord, R5, redistricting would have absolutely no effect on a statewide Senate race.

by Anonymousreply 7November 14, 2014 9:36 PM

Iowa seems to be a state of pigfuckers if they elected this ho.

by Anonymousreply 8November 14, 2014 9:38 PM

R8 Woah. Misogynist alert.

by Anonymousreply 9November 14, 2014 9:40 PM

OP, would you rather that snob Bruce Braley ("I had to fold my own towels") had won?

by Anonymousreply 10November 14, 2014 11:51 PM

Yeah, this loss is on Braley.

by Anonymousreply 11November 14, 2014 11:57 PM

R10 - that's how you decide who to vote for - with Supreme Court appointments, the cementing or repeal of healthcare, etc, etc, at stake?

by Anonymousreply 12November 14, 2014 11:57 PM

R12 I don't think those decisions should be made by such a colossal snob. He thinks that the vast majority of people are so beneath him and someone like that isn't going to vote for the best interests of people he regards with contempt.

by Anonymousreply 13November 15, 2014 12:07 AM

[quote]I've noticed tons of women get to congress without the qualifications nor the intelligence.

No, that's just plain false. In order to get elected most women have to have more qualifications and be smarter than any man would have to be.

[quote]Pelosi, Palin, Ernst, Wasserman Schultz.

Are you high? One, Palin was never in Congress (duh). Two, Pelosi was not only qualified and intelligent, she was the most effective SotH we've had in ages, much stronger and more successful at the job than Boehner will ever be. Three, Wasserman-Schultz is another intelligent and qualified member of congress and a decent party chairman. Do you have an issue with women in authority? Let me guess, you can't deal with Hillary [italic]but of course it has nothing to do with the fact that she's a woman![/italic] (quelle surprise)

You're right about Ernst - she's a total fucking moron but Republicans don't mind that.

by Anonymousreply 14November 15, 2014 12:12 AM

You just now realized she won? FML.

by Anonymousreply 15November 15, 2014 12:13 AM

A decent party chairman? LOL

Yeah, that's why even the White House wants to 86 her lame, ineffective ass.

by Anonymousreply 16November 15, 2014 12:20 AM

Other than putting out false equivalency, did you have a point, R16?

by Anonymousreply 17November 15, 2014 12:43 AM

You're a colossal idiot, R13. Who gives a flying fuck how he *feels* about anyone? What matters is how he VOTES in Congress.

History, including American history, is littered with rich, privileged politicians who spent their professional lives helping poor and average citizens. (FDR - duh) I neither know nor care how they *felt* about them. Some of them were probably snobs who loathed the poor, and what of it? The only thing that matters are the policies they supported and how they voted on the issues.

Ernst is going to vote against every goddamn thing that would be of any use to anyone in need. Braley wouldn't have done that and we know this because he's a sitting congressman and he wasn't like that. Nevermind how you feel about him or his personality, it's completely irrelevant. We have the proof of what he would do in office. It's not perfect but it's a hell of a lot better than we'll get from that cunt Ernst. DUH.

People like you ignored Al Gore's decades of decent votes in congress and voted for W because Gore was a snob and W was more "down to earth" although he, too, is a rich family's spawn. Your refusal to think about politics in a serious, adult way is a disaster for this country.

by Anonymousreply 18November 15, 2014 12:47 AM

No, R17, R16 has no point and knows nothing about American politics. He doesn't know that the old Party chairman always resigns and makes way for whomever the new nominee chooses.

by Anonymousreply 19November 15, 2014 1:02 AM

R9 has stated her boundaries!

by Anonymousreply 20November 15, 2014 1:02 AM

Repukes would just love for Debbie Wasserman- Schultz to hang around.

She's become a National joke.

by Anonymousreply 21November 15, 2014 1:04 AM

R18 That's very tolerant, non-judgemental, and intelligent of you. Typical liberal. They also pretend to be compassionate, but they're only generous with other people's money.

by Anonymousreply 22November 15, 2014 1:19 AM

Anything to add besides tired cliches and talking points, R22?

Are you even in the right thread?

by Anonymousreply 23November 15, 2014 1:27 AM

Oh shut the fuck up, moron @R18. I am intolerant and judgmental and I've always been okay with that.

I'm not particularly compassionate but I was raised to take my obligation to the less fortunate seriously. I'll bet that I give more of my own money to charities every year than you do, freeper shitstain.

by Anonymousreply 24November 15, 2014 1:29 AM

I actually though Ernst may be one of the brighter Repubs when she was talking about putting an end to sexual assaults on women in the military. Then, she started going on about being privy to secret information that Saddam Hussein did indeed have WMDs. Next up, how tiny electrodes implanted in her brain prevent her from giving actual factual information about those well-searched for WMDs.

by Anonymousreply 25November 15, 2014 2:08 AM

Everyone who voted for this ignorant, incompetent, crazy bitch should forfeit all future voting rights.

by Anonymousreply 26November 15, 2014 2:17 AM

Why doesn't the feckless media ever quiz the GOP idiots, who are forever screaming about The Constitution to discuss their feelings on Iran-Contra, or the debacle of the Iraq war, or what sort of diligence they would have had that could have avoided us getting attacked on 9-11? You KNOW ANY Democrat running for office would be quizzed on these issues had they happened under Bill Clinton!

by Anonymousreply 27November 15, 2014 2:18 AM

Lmao. You have at least six years of unhappiness and bitching...and she will be Senator the entire time. Im sure she is deeply upset and pained by your words...um...no. lol

by Anonymousreply 28November 15, 2014 2:25 AM

R28, why would you defend such a painfully and embarrassingly ignorant crazy crackpot like her?

by Anonymousreply 29November 15, 2014 2:29 AM

where did I defend her? I only spoke the truth. She was elected and will be senator for 6 years. Those who hate her will bitch and moan for the next 6 years. She doesn't give a shit what you think about her. End of story.

by Anonymousreply 30November 15, 2014 2:35 AM

R30, the fact that you almost cackled with glee when you stated that, is an implicit defense of her. You seem happy about her being elected. And you seem delighted to rag on those who are legitimately concerned about someone as crazy as her having that much power.

You're defending her, and I want to know why.

by Anonymousreply 31November 15, 2014 2:38 AM

Ernst will make Ted Cruz look down right reasonable.

As the daughter of an Iowa hog farmer, Joni grew up on the tax payer dime. Big farm subsidies, especially pork subsidizes. Yet, she despises ever last dime spent on anyone else.

She even say, poor people have no right to health care if they can't pay for it. She goes on to say that the wealthy are entitled to things poor people aren't and includes healthcare for poor people.

by Anonymousreply 32November 15, 2014 3:11 AM

Forgot the other big thing. She seems to think that citizens have the right to shoot any government official or soldier who tries to make them do anything they don't want to do. That's even beyond Palin, Bachmann, and Cruz crazy.

by Anonymousreply 33November 15, 2014 3:56 AM

[quote]I've noticed tons of women get to congress without the qualifications nor the intelligence.

Why should women in Congress be different from men?

by Anonymousreply 34November 15, 2014 5:06 AM

"How dumb are people in Iowa?"

About as dumb as people who post about "surprise" results in an election 10 days after the event--hint, hint

by Anonymousreply 35November 15, 2014 5:10 AM

[quote]She even say, poor people have no right to health care if they can't pay for it. She goes on to say that the wealthy are entitled to things poor people aren't and includes healthcare for poor people.

She's right, though.

by Anonymousreply 36November 15, 2014 2:33 PM

Braley is the idiot - not Ernst. He made his comment at an out-of-state fundraiser. He insulted Chuck Grassley - who got 65% of the vote in 2010. His comment wasn't just about farmers - but a farmer from Iowa. The fact he made the comment at an out-of-state fundraiser made it next to impossible for him to attack Ernst on out-of-state funds she received.

Braley had to run a tight campaign. He didn't. Guess who did. Ernst. You might like to compare her to Palin - but when it comes to campaigning there is no comparison. Palin was one campaign screw-up after another. Not Ernst.

Braley had another problem. Between the National Guard and Army Reserve Ernst has served 21 years. Braley had two years on the Veterns Affairs where he missed 76% of committee meetings. That is not that unusual. But it was a terrible sound bit. Especially considering the state of the VA. It's not like he could counter with his successes on the committee.

by Anonymousreply 37November 15, 2014 3:29 PM

[R36] In YOUR world she might be right, she is very wrong in my world.

by Anonymousreply 38November 15, 2014 3:49 PM

R38- doesn't really matter which world you live in because Ernst didn't say those things.

by Anonymousreply 39November 15, 2014 6:25 PM

R26

same goes for the ignorant asshats who voted for an incompetent community organizer.

by Anonymousreply 40November 15, 2014 6:42 PM

I kind of like the ol' gal. Especially her "long way from the biscuit line at Hardee's to the United States Senate." She can't be much worse than all the shit that's in their now. Both democrat and republican. It was just Braley's down aspects it was also that she seemed to have a joy of campaigning and meeting people. She looked as fresh the last day of the campaign as she did the first. Like her or hate or she's a brilliant campaigner. She went from zero name recognition to winning.

by Anonymousreply 41November 15, 2014 6:50 PM

"I kind of like the ol' gal. "

They do say crazy attracts crazy

by Anonymousreply 42November 15, 2014 7:13 PM

[quote]She can't be much worse than all the shit that's in [bold]their [/bold]now.

And the illiterate.

by Anonymousreply 43November 15, 2014 7:54 PM

R40? Enough. Seriously. Stop with your delusion that Obama is incompetent. The facts don't bear you out at all.

by Anonymousreply 44November 15, 2014 7:57 PM

R37, if you think Joni Ernst isn't an idiot, you're delusional. It doesn't matter if this crazy ignorant sociopath "ran a good campaign" or not. She still never should have been elected, and no SANE AND INFORMED person would ever vote for this level of crazy insane stupid.

by Anonymousreply 45November 15, 2014 7:59 PM

I really don't understand the mentality of "Gee, my candidate made a mistake, or said one thing I didn't like, or otherwise didn't excite me enough... so I'm going to let the completely corrupt psychopath who doesn't represent me at ALL and who will DEFINITELY make things worse for me and most of my fellow citizens win!"

That sort of stupidity is just unfathomable to me.

by Anonymousreply 46November 15, 2014 8:24 PM

Iowa is just Alabama with corn instead of cornbread.

by Anonymousreply 47November 15, 2014 8:58 PM

R45 - There is no position Ernst has taken that I agree with. But clearly the women is not an idiot. Whereas on the other hand it sees Braley drew the same conclusions you have about her - and what happened to him?

Compare the bios of Ernst, Michelle Bachmann and Sarah Palin. You may not like Ernst but she has the academic and work credentials that fly in the face of your conclusions about her intelligence.

Her political positions alienated voters - voters that would never vote for the Republican.

Braley's comments totally unrelated to his political position alienated voters that he had to get to the polls.

Go ahead and continue to underestimate the intelligence of politicians you disagree with - that's a great strategy to recapture the Senate and keep the White House in 2016.

It's idiots like you the Republicans count on.

by Anonymousreply 48November 16, 2014 1:09 AM

She. Is. An. Idiot.

Why the FUCK are you continuing to defend one of the worst of the worst?

by Anonymousreply 49November 16, 2014 1:15 AM

The real tragedy here is when you compare this dingbat with Tom Harkin. Harkin was one of the last old-school liberal Democrats in the Senate, and Iowans voted for him for 40 years because he took care of them. Such a shame to see him retire.

Ernst like replacing FDR with George W Bush.

by Anonymousreply 50November 16, 2014 1:32 AM

And it's easy to just dismiss Iowans as idiots, but politically the state is split right down the middle. Braley quite simply ran a terrible campaign.

by Anonymousreply 51November 16, 2014 1:33 AM

I don't care how terrible his campaign was run, it's no excuse for Iowans to vote in this racist, ignorant bigoted moron.

by Anonymousreply 52November 16, 2014 1:53 AM

"Iowa is just Alabama with corn instead of cornbread."

Not even close--it has one of the rates of literacy in any state, spends an impressive amount of money on education & was one of the first states to have marriage equality, ahead of other supposedly more progressive states like NY or CA.

What it does tend to have is a committed electorate that tends towards the extreme on both left & right, with a substantial number of the remaining voters who would best be characterized as liberal Republicans--or moderate/conservative Democrats.

Let's recall Ernst is replacing Tom Harkin, who is one of the liberal lions leaving the Senate--not perfect & certainly too beholden to agribusiness, but who in the Senate is held financially hostage to some donor block?

by Anonymousreply 53November 16, 2014 10:56 AM

[quote} I don't care how terrible his campaign was run, it's no excuse for Iowans to vote in this racist, ignorant bigoted moron.

You're missing the point.

I'm not defending Ernst's positions or beliefs. I'm defending her as a cleaver successful candidate.

If you think the way to defeat her in six years is to call her ignorant - well you're the moron.

I suggest you call Braley and ask him if he wished he had taken her more seriously.

by Anonymousreply 54November 16, 2014 3:08 PM

I love the the shrieking politigays. In your regular, offline, life do you ever have to work with anyone you don't agree with?

by Anonymousreply 55November 16, 2014 11:50 PM

R54: darling, we get it: you're dumber than a sack of hammers.

Learning how to write in coherent English would help you appear more "cleaver".

by Anonymousreply 56November 17, 2014 12:02 AM

R56 It was hard for you to understand R54?

by Anonymousreply 57November 17, 2014 12:08 AM

[quote][R56] It was hard for you to understand [R54]?

No. His opinion might be taken seriously if he learned how to write a sentence without painful spelling errors.

by Anonymousreply 58November 17, 2014 12:44 AM

R56 - wow you're so smart.

Do insults which having nothing to do with the discussion at hand usually work for you?

In my experience people who resort to your tactics usually have run out of argument.

Perhaps you were one of Braley's advisers?

by Anonymousreply 59November 17, 2014 3:45 AM

Oh, honey. Being dumber than a sack of hammers, in a discussion of a Senator who's crazy and stupid, is [bold]COMPLETELY [/bold] relevant.

And I believe you intended to say "run out of arguments". A freshman composition class would do you wonders.

Perhaps you're a GOP education adviser?

by Anonymousreply 60November 17, 2014 4:43 AM

[bold]Advisor[/bold]. Shit, you've got me copying your illiterate misspellings.

by Anonymousreply 61November 17, 2014 4:49 AM

Oh yes, Ernst ran a brilliant campaign. She played the professional victim card like a true pro.

And being the third highest recipient of dark money in 2014 Congressional races, I guess that helped her win a little as well.

by Anonymousreply 62November 17, 2014 5:27 AM

Dems need to be careful to pick candidates who are culturally attuned to their states, instead of ones who seem elitist or condescending. People don't like pointy headed elitists who look down on common people or local culture. Braley shot himself in the foot.

by Anonymousreply 63November 17, 2014 2:10 PM

If you think Palin is dumb, I have two words for you: Joe Biden.

by Anonymousreply 64November 17, 2014 2:19 PM

R63 - please tell me this post is satire.

by Anonymousreply 65November 17, 2014 11:07 PM

This was a bad year for the Democrats.

I'm not sure she could have won in a better year, or a Presidential year such as 2008 or 2012. She's lucky that the seat became vacant at this time.

by Anonymousreply 66November 17, 2014 11:33 PM

R63 "Braley shot himself in the foot."

He shot himself in the heart. He proved what a conceited elitist he is.

by Anonymousreply 67November 18, 2014 2:30 AM

Ya what an elitist asshole - this jerk supports a hike in the federal minimum wage, universal health insurance access for all, amending the constitution so corporations don't have the rights of real people, and reforming the tax code to give the middle class a break and tax corporations and millionaires more. And did you hear he thought it might be a good idea to have actual lawyers on the Senate Judiciary Committee? What an asshole.

Our Joni on the other hand is good people, full of spunk and ready to fight for the common man - by taking away their right to health insurance, cutting taxes for the megarich and corporations, and fighting tooth and nail to make sure that corporate and billionaire money drives our elections forever and ever amen. Atta girl! Go get 'em Joni!!!

by Anonymousreply 68November 18, 2014 10:31 PM

Could she be Vice President?

by Anonymousreply 69November 19, 2014 10:37 AM

OP - No one makes Sarah Palin look like a Rhodes scholar. That bitch is too thick to be for real, her and her entire bigoted clan. Vainglorious cunt.

by Anonymousreply 70November 19, 2014 11:28 AM

R69 what are you talking about?

by Anonymousreply 71November 19, 2014 4:41 PM

There is nothing stupid bout her which is why she is dangerous

by Anonymousreply 72November 19, 2014 5:15 PM

She'll be the first woman president or VP. Her hope is for a democrat to win in 2016. Keep a low profile but not disappear. Then start campaigning for 2020. Just like she did in her home state.

by Anonymousreply 73November 20, 2014 10:15 PM

r73, if she waits for a Democrat to win in 2016, she won't be the first woman president because that will be Hillary who wins in 2016.

First woman VP? WTF cares?

But I agree with all of those who say she's dangerous and bares watching.

by Anonymousreply 74November 20, 2014 10:40 PM

"because that will be Hillary who wins in 2016."

You really are a cockeyed optimist, aren't you?

by Anonymousreply 75November 21, 2014 2:26 AM

Hillary lost the election last night.

by Anonymousreply 76November 21, 2014 10:34 PM

I really had to rough it during the government shutdown. There was no staff in the House gym. I had to fold my own towels. Oh, the humanity!

by Anonymousreply 77November 21, 2014 10:39 PM

We'll see freeper r76, we'll see

by Anonymousreply 78November 21, 2014 10:39 PM

What is with all the freeper scum on this board lately?

FreeRepublic down again?

by Anonymousreply 79November 21, 2014 10:40 PM

And now she’s a rape survivor. Boo hoo hoo. She has no sympathy for anyone else.

by Anonymousreply 80January 24, 2019 3:39 PM

It's always amusing to see New Yorkers mock others for the people they elected.
