I'm Not a Madge troll or anything but I like her music- mostly. I know she's working with some interesting producers so Im curious if the new album will bring a new Madonna or desperate Madonna (Hard Candy and MDNA era). Any gossip on the new album?
What will Madonna's new album be like?

She's attached herself to Diplo. So except some watered down EDM.

really OP? Vadge is and always has been DESPERATE as fuck. Now that she's old and most young people no longer care about her, she's even more desperate than ever to stay relevant. Bitch is gonna flop again.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | October 31, 2014 8:14 AM |
I hope it's good. Huge fan here. I liked MDNA. I think hard candy has aged well, though when it came out I wasn't crazy about it, but listening to it now it's good. I'm not sure what most would like from her, I think many are going to dislike anything thing she does next no matter what it is or how good it is. I'm excited for her next album, I think she's had a fabulous career and the 80s, 90's 2000's just would not have been the same without Madonna. I expect EDM, most of her fans want that from her. But I also expect her at some point to do another ballad album later on, she does that well and she knows it, and past sales prove it. It's just not the right climate for a ballad album.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | October 31, 2014 11:48 AM |
I can't believe she still has "huge fans". She was never talented, likable or pretty.
This upcoming album will sound like her typical horrible shit. mdna was atrocious.

r6, you are a marvel. You managed to put behind the younger you who used to walk down the street with sunglasses perched on the tip of your nose munching on cheese doodles pretending the world was watching you and mature into a newer and hipper you, staying fresh with the current trends and escaping the suspicious scrutiny of fascist 20somethings. I applaud you, my friend.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | October 31, 2014 5:29 PM |
MDNA was a good album. I own it and like it alot. I think alot of the bullshit is from people who have never even listened to it.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | October 31, 2014 9:05 PM |
MDNA was not a good album. Even if one didn't think the songwriting was variable (it was), the shoddy production, vocals and mastering would be enough to put one off.
William Orbit has uploaded several remixes of MDNA tracks to his soundcloud. They're mostly better than the album versions.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | October 31, 2014 9:11 PM |
For a songstress that some people think is no longer relevant, Madonna sure has a lot of active threads going on right now. I count 4 of them. I count ZERO for absolutely anyone else who puts out music.
We must love her.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | October 31, 2014 9:11 PM |
Ray of Light was her last good album, though Music had a couple of good song, (Title track and "Don't Tell Me).
After that it was all downhill with nothing that even approached listenablity.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | October 31, 2014 9:15 PM |
I didn't initially like the Confessions era ("Sample ABBA!? Get away from them, you bitch!") but all four singles have grown on me. That hadn't been true with the albums after Ray of Light.
I'm surprised she didn't release Devil Wouldn't Recognise You as a single, even though she's basically just a Timberlake stand in on that track. Had she split up with Ritchie by the time it might have been a single?
by Anonymous | reply 12 | October 31, 2014 9:37 PM |
You probably started each and every one of them, R10.
We do not love her. We do not even like her. We would not care if she were to die.

R9 is hilarious with his definitive SHODDY PRODUCTION! VOCALS! MASTERING! He has no idea what he is talking about. None. But damn, it sure do SOUND good!
MDNA is a pretty good album, no matter what this troll says. After all, it sold 4 million albums. Not bad, not bad at all. Why don't you listen to it?
by Anonymous | reply 15 | October 31, 2014 10:25 PM |
It's going to be hilarious seeing a rapidly aging Vadge still try "to get down with the kids and be cool". She keeps posting all these selfies with other celebs and she looks like their mother/aunt. It will be amusing to see her singles flop. Of course her tasteless old kween stans and methed out twink stans will buy up the album but it won't have much of an impact.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | October 31, 2014 10:26 PM |
"Get down with the kids"? You mean those unemployed slobs who are living with their parents and still can't get a job? I don't think that is Madonna's demographic at all.
Think: Professional, hip, urban, upper management with plenty of money in the 401K.
Kids? You are so funny!

If Vadge was smart (which she isn't), she would reunite with Stephen Bray and Patrick Leonard - the ones who produced the songs of hers that people actually remember.
Oh, and she seriously needs to ditch this tired, generic electro-pop shit.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | October 31, 2014 11:18 PM |
She was smart enough to reunite with Leonard for Ray of Light. She could do it again.
My bet is things went wrong moneywise between them. Leonard might have saved us from "I like to singy singy singy, like a bird on a wingy, wingy, wingy."

Diplo hasn't been able to get hits for anyone (JLo, Britney, Beyonce, etc). Katy Perry wisely cut his tracks off her album. Madonna shouldn't release a Diplo song.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | October 31, 2014 11:30 PM |
[quote]She was smart enough to reunite with Leonard for Ray of Light. She could do it again.
That was almost 17 years ago, and even then, he just co-wrote and co-produced a few songs on that album. She needs to bring him and Bray back and let them do the lead production.
I can't believe she's working with Nas - she obviously has no idea who her audience is anymore. Like urban kids are really going to listen to a white woman pushing 60.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | October 31, 2014 11:33 PM |
Madonna should go back to her roots with Patrick Leonard and Stephen Bray. Or just record any Dianne Warren song, that bitch made millions re-writing the same song for decades.

If it's another set of reductive, cheap-sounding shit like "Girls Gone Wild" then it'll fail as badly as that did.
The last time Madonna released interesting singles was in 2000. "Don't Tell Me" and "What It Feels Like For a Girl" were sublime. But that was nearly 15 years ago, and she was already over 40 then.

Really, we should all just settle back and enjoy the spectacle. Most of the lunatic entertainment figures die young or retire permanently.
In Madonna, we have a rare case of a severely personality disordered narcissist, acting out her delusional fantasies of being a cutting edge, sexually desirable provocatrice, 20 years and counting since she was last able to push this shit on the public with any semblance of credibility.
She will be doing her hyper-sexual, cheesy, tinny electro pop INTO HER 70's ! - and possibly beyond.
Let us enjoy the Madonna freak show, now that Jackson and Elvis have left for the circus tent in the sky.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | November 1, 2014 10:57 AM |
Well yes, r28, but to give her her due it's not like she's just doggedly stuck with her sexy singer-dancer act all these years and never tried anything else. So her genius doesn't lie in acting or directing or publishing, and she's being upstaged by two generations of pop stars operating in a genre she created. And yes, she's an embarrassment right now for visibly trying so damn hard and not making it. But I find myself still rooting for her to find something cool to do even as an old lady.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | November 1, 2014 12:28 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 30 | November 1, 2014 12:39 PM |
It will be like an aging stripper doing "one last show" because, in her mind, she's still got it. She fills the room, not because people find her beautiful or talented, but because they want to marvel at the delusion. They will snap some photos to share with friends and laugh for days about them. This will feed the delusion of the stripper, who never catches on to the joke.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | November 1, 2014 1:50 PM |

Well, Madonna is only 8 million certified album sales away from displacing Michael Jackson as the world's 3rd largest seller of music EVER.
That is quite an achievement that cannot be overlooked.
So bitch, scream, jabber you clutch of queens---you are a tiny, unhappy minority in the music world
So, to answer the OP's original question: Madonna's new album might be like the cannon shot that brings Madonna yet ANOTHER ground breaking record.
Superlatives cannot go far enough in describing Madonna's impact on the musical scene these 30 years---and she is still going strong.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | November 2, 2014 1:53 AM |
R36 and all of that impact is negative. She brings and brought nothing of value.
Shitney Spears has sold a shit load of albums too-that certainly doesn't mean she is talented, original or incredible. The same can be said of Vadge.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | November 2, 2014 5:42 AM |
No, Britney has sold close to nothing compared to Madonna and for you to compare them in the same sentence proves how absolutely useless you are.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | November 2, 2014 5:46 AM |
R38 what are you talking about? Checking the "verified units" list of sold albums, Vadge has almost 166 million while Shitney has almost 77 million. How is 77 million "close to nothing" compared to 166 million? Sure it's less than half but both are HUGE numbers. The 2 of them have sold a ridiculous amount and it simply shows that album sales has nothing to do with quality of music. There are plenty of recording acts who are infinitely more talented than these 2 but don't have the sales to show for it. There are a lot of people in the public with shitty taste, including stans of Vadge of Shitney. Deal with it.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | November 2, 2014 5:55 AM |
Shitney?
Vadge?
What are you? 11 years old?
by Anonymous | reply 40 | November 2, 2014 5:58 AM |

by Anonymous | reply 41 | November 2, 2014 5:01 AM |
r31, not quite. Good try, though.
I am continually shocked by how many people I meet who have gone to a Madonna show. People I would never have expected. I've never been to one, and I was a fan for years. And they have never said they laughed at her like she was a circus freak. They always say it was an amazing show. They can't see her upclose, but they see the blood and sweat she puts into a performance. She wants to give 150 percent. The ticketbuyers appreciate that. Most of these people aren't running home to listen to her albums. But she is a Top Name. She's made a name for herself, a legend of nostalgia, a pop music icon - to go to a Madonna concert is a concerty thing to do for the mainstream. In the last couple of decades, it's the shows that are her moneymakers. She doesn't give a shit about video anymore, and the music doesn't really hold that much interest for her. It's the stage performances. She started as a dancer and that's where she'll stop. As long as her body can withhold the task, she'll put on a show that is worth the money to see.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | November 2, 2014 6:05 AM |
I saw her concert in 2011, and even though I didn't really care for MDNA, it was a spectacle to watch. The audience ranged from 15 to 60 - all over the map, and it was pandemonium when she came on stage . Expensive, but worth it.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | November 2, 2014 6:21 AM |
I love Madonna. I've been front row at one of her concerts. She puts on a great show.
I am not the Madonna troll, but I grew up loving her music, and her. But I don't know what's next for her. Don't like the plastic surgery. Don't care about those children's books. But I'd never count her out yet.
She's smart, determined and fairly ruthless.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | November 2, 2014 7:42 AM |
oh c'mon we all know her next album will obviously suck.
and I can't believe people here are saying she puts on great performances? Let's see-she either lip syncs or if she tries "singing" (she's not a real singer) live she sounds awful.
She makes the stage very busy to distract from the very low-quality vocals.
She'll put on revealing outfits to "shock" and "show she's still got it".
Anyone who thinks this is a great performance is just clueless about what real talent is. How are her concerts worth so much money? Her fan base is made up of fools.
Not to mention all those times she has showed up hours late.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | November 2, 2014 8:56 AM |
Yet millions show up every time she goes on tour. Posters like r45 are tiresome losers.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | November 2, 2014 2:41 PM |
No, I think she deserves the criticism of her live vocals. She even sounds awful on her DVDs.
She could easily learn to sing. It's not like her songs are that hard on the voice.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | November 2, 2014 3:02 PM |
How will it sound? Crowded.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | November 2, 2014 3:06 PM |
r45, your needle is stuck in a groove and you're not willing to actually hear what people are saying. No one is saying Madonna is a great singer. She is the ultimate performance artist in pop music though. All the current artists today are now doing what she brought to mainstream music performance: Broadway and Las Vegas incoporated with pop and rock. Her show is spectacle. And people cannot deny that she doesn't give a fucking spic spectacle of a show. If you want Joni Mitchell sitting on a stool under a single spotlight and crooning a Siren song, you will begreatly disappointed. But I never expect that from Madonna.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | November 2, 2014 4:17 PM |
I, too, have gone to several Madonna concerts over 30 years and they have all been absolutely spectacular shows. To say she can't sing is utter bullshit.
Her athletic prowess allows her to dance all over the stage like a gymnast---and if we need a little help with lip synch while she does all that and catches her breath---than these are the NEW RULES of modern concert spectacularum.
Like a poster earlier said, she doesn't sit on a stool under a spotlight singing folk songs. If this is what you want go elsewhere.
The world has voted on Madonna. She is here to stay.

by Anonymous | reply 52 | November 2, 2014 5:09 PM |
wow the Vadge stans are delusional.
No, she's not a real singer. She can carry a tune but has always been very weak. None of her defenders seem to understand that she adds all these extra features because she can't sing well. If she could, she wouldn't have to find other ways to entertain you. If her shows are anything like that joke of a superbowl performance, then no I'm not impressed. She looked like a granny stripper.
She also copied most of her "ideas" from other people who did it first.
by Anonymous | reply 53 | November 2, 2014 5:33 PM |

The lipsycing isn't a problem. It's the quality of her live vocals. She's intercut lipsyncing and singing live since at least the Blonde Ambition tour.

her songs can't chart anymore except on the dance chart.
The last time Vadge had a top 10 when she was the only one doing vocals on the track was back in 2005. Her last 2 times in 2008 and then for a week in 2012 (lmao) were when she featured younger, popular acts with her. On her own, she's a FLOP these days. I saw her Grammy performance and thought the song was good, but that was it. Nice show as well. Nothing new, though.
It blows my mind how some gay men become completely tasteless and tone-deaf when her new music comes out. They love EVERYTHING. Every snippet, note, clip, leak, demo, EVERYTHING. She could shove a kazoo up her butt and fart, and they'd all get the vapors over it. They're comparable to the Britney fanbois. They will eat up any and everything.

And no, I don't need another explanation from some hysterical childgay that she stole everything she did. Bitch, we knew that back in the '80s when it was happening, we really don't need some hummingbird who wasn't even around then to shriek about it one more time.
What I'm curious about is where this total hatred comes from for an artist that isn't that much different than any other musical act that's come around - oh no, she stole sounds, dance moves, costumes! Welcome to what literally everybody ever has done, ever.
Did she break into your house and steal your mint collection buffalo head nickel? Because this whole "WE HATE HER AND ALWAYS WILL" shit is getting weeeeeeeeeeird.
Thank god there are people in the world who remember her for being groundbreaking, interesting, entertaining, and, gasp, occasionally original.

R72 = typical el-dergay Vadge stan.
Why is it hard to understand why so many can't stand her?
Gee let's see-she's a hypocrite? She's a known and proven BITCH to fans and people who work for/with her. This all from the woman who preaches we should all love each other and be kind...she's a gimmicky thieving fraud. If you're going to be a nasty person at least have talent...she doesn't....
You even mentioned how unoriginal she is yet then say "remember when she was "groundbreaking, interesting, entertaining and original"? You're contradicting yourself just like your idol does.
She's an attentionwhore. She can't handle getting old. She's jealous and unfriendly towards other women whom she views as competition. None of her negative characteristics have gone away as she's gotten older-they've only worsened. Most people realize she's pathetic and always has been that way.

R74 - see, you're exactly what I'm talking about,
Anyone who likes her, in your view, is some sort of vile ancient thing. The truth is that no, we're relics from the '80s who sort of liked her stuff and then got tired of her around 1997.
Just like a thousand other singers.
As for Madonna herself, you call her an ancient vapid whore who hates her fans.
And? Like I give a shit - I don't rate performers on how well they greet their fans, I rate them on how well they do their art. Madonna does it quite well - as for her being a whore, why would I give a shit about who she fucks?
And she's aging? Oh my god, no way. It's unfortunate that she was struck with that condition, she's in my prayers.
You and everyone like you here are totally unhinged - I can only hope that you someday get over the terrible hurt that your Madonna poster inflicted upon you.

R76 so you feel fine giving your money to someone who doesn't appreciate it...and you say others need help?
In what way is Madonna's "work" considered "art"? Ripping off imagery she has seen elsewhere means she's an artist? Stubbornly trying to show she's "sexy" in her late 50s is art? Flashing her ass cheeks on the red carpet is art? Her vocals certainly aren't "art". You mean her lyrics are art? She's so transparent it's hilarious.

R84 poor soul, trying to make Vadge and her "music" seem like an intellectual delight. She's nothing of the sort. Her songs are mostly crude. R87, child give it up. You can't write comedy.
by Anonymous | reply 88 | February 19, 2015 2:49 PM |
Did it even chart at all on Billboard?
by Anonymous | reply 89 | February 19, 2015 3:03 PM |
R89, the Madonna album hasn't been released yet.
by Anonymous | reply 90 | February 19, 2015 3:05 PM |
It's not released yet.
It is scheduled to be released on March 6, 2015

The single "Living For Love" didn't hit the top 100 peaking at 108 and only made #2 on the Top 100 dance charts.
by Anonymous | reply 92 | February 19, 2015 3:09 PM |
Even after the Grammys, her single didn't break the Top 100?
Jesus, how humiliating.
by Anonymous | reply 93 | February 19, 2015 3:23 PM |
To be fair the album isn't released and the single was rush released. It should've been released on Feb 14, 2015.

r94
Has a point, that and the fact the single was awful.
by Anonymous | reply 95 | February 19, 2015 3:35 PM |
this is the worst a Vadge lead single has done since "Everybody" failed to chart on the hot 100 back in '82 (it only charted on the dance/club chart).
Vadge is officially a FLOP and OVER.
All the desperate instagram postwhoring, all the silly press items about her, even that awful and silly Grammys performance could not land her single in the hot 100.
Meanwhile Annie Lennox reenters the hot 100 with "I Put a Spell on You" at #97.
Annie >>>>> Vadge

Interesting review of Rebel Heart....
It's not graded just reviewed
by Anonymous | reply 97 | February 19, 2015 4:27 PM |
R87: More like the wistful ruminations of a fan than an actual review.
by Anonymous | reply 98 | February 19, 2015 4:35 PM |
That review seems absolutely in line with dozens of other reviewers of her new album. It is indeed her best work in 10 years.
by Anonymous | reply 99 | February 19, 2015 4:45 PM |
[quote] It is indeed her best work in 10 years.
Thank you for that.
Now, when people ask for an example of damning with faint praise, I will point to that.

Maybe we should review the reviews of Janet's fiasco, Damita Jo, next and compare the two.

Trying to decide, between Madonna and Jane Jackson, who is the bigger has-been seems like a singular waste of time.
by Anonymous | reply 102 | February 19, 2015 5:13 PM |
I'd vote for Gaga. Have you noticed the paparazzi don't even bother stalking her anymore?
by Anonymous | reply 103 | February 19, 2015 5:19 PM |
I wonder if Vadge will keep making music after this album inevitably flops. Her ego must be so bruised now.

Tacos things will get better

R104= 5'7", 140 lbs, pasty skin, spotty whiskers and two wrists that flop all day long.
by Anonymous | reply 106 | February 19, 2015 10:32 PM |
Yeah, R104, she's super hating having the highest grossing tour of last year. That just stings.
by Anonymous | reply 107 | February 19, 2015 10:40 PM |
The only thing bruised around here is R104 with everyone pushing the new magic button on him.
by Anonymous | reply 108 | February 19, 2015 10:44 PM |
whiny, sensitive Vadge fans
*with 1 hand on hip, the other clutching their pearls* "DON'T MAKE FUN OF MY MADONNA!1!1!1!1!1! SHE'S EVERYTHING TO ME!1!1!1!1!"
by Anonymous | reply 109 | February 20, 2015 12:34 AM |
I dunno, I don't think Madge + hiphop works. But she keeps running to them to make her relevant.
The blacks only liked her in 1983, when they just knew her from the radio and thought she was black.
Weird how she looks virtually the same but her music turned to shit.

I hope it has "get into the groove" in autotune
by Anonymous | reply 111 | December 20, 2016 9:12 AM |
She should do a retro album with songs from the 1910s
by Anonymous | reply 112 | December 20, 2016 4:05 PM |
I hope she makes her next album Liver Spots.
by Anonymous | reply 113 | December 20, 2016 4:41 PM |
Bad, as usual
