Anyone ever use it? did it help you?
Restasis

Expensive and didn't really help my severe dry eyes. I only used the samples my Dr. Gave me as the medicine was like over 60 dollars per month. Eye drops work but they have to be reapplied. Fight big pharma!

What r1 said. I use Systane Ultra now - OTC eye lube.

I use it. It takes FOREVER to start working, 3 or more months. It's not the same as OTC eye drops and does not replace them.
After months and months of using it, I do not feel as if I have glass in my eyes while sleeping. It does work. $60/month is very cheap if you can get it at that price.

It works better for me than Oasis and Systane, but it took three or four months to notice a difference. I plan to try preservative-free OTC drops again after exhausting my existing supply of Restasis because the cost is ludicrous. My insurance covers almost all of it but it irks me anyway.

Stings like hell. Not sure it does much.
In fact my eyes felt great after I stopped using it.

Just use sterile isotonic saline solution. Much cheaper. The other stuff is a gimmick.

Try Refresh Celluvisc and alternate with Thera Tears in the bottle. Restasis is a rip off.

"No," cried I, "Let me live if only to feed my wee little children and lest prevent them from becoming a burden on society."
"Blah blah blah," screamed the AIDS infected homosexual, "I shall infect you and your children." He began flailing his arms advancing on the children, who shuttered begging for mercy.
"Blah blah blah," said the menacing homosexual, in turn infected each innocent child, converting him to the perversion, he lived and secretly despised.

I saw a Youtube video where some guy said that wearing a gel eyepack for a few minutes after it had been warmed up in the microwave cleared up his dry eyes after a few uses.

What about plugging your tear ducts?

I t helped a lot, but when I changed jobs and therefore medical insurers, my new medical insurer wouldn't cover it. The cost for a three month supply was like $400 or $500, so I told them to keep it. I had paid $20 for a 90-day supply with my former employer.

Pilocarpine oral works great but there is some perspiration to deal with for a little while. I take it for dry mouth but it works on the eyes too. It takes a couple of months to get the full effect going though. The brand name is Salagen, but the generic works well and I don't think it's expensive at all.

Like others said, Restasis takes several months of persistent use before some relief occurs. For me it took about 5 months for tears to flow. I've been using it for 2 years.
I still have to supplement with artificial tears on occasion, but the searing eye pain and headache that accompanied my dry eye are pretty much gone.

It works for me (after a long-ish start-up time - maybe 6 or 8 weeks) and the copay on my drug plan is only $35 for a 90 day supply.
It does sting a bit, but it's nothing that would stop me from doing anything else and the stinging's not nearly as painful as feeling you have grit in your eyes.
The opthalmologist told me to try, once it worked, if I could manage on one vial a day and I have, so now I only use it at night before I go to bed. And now every time I pick up something else at the pharmacy, I get a notice with all the other paperwork asking why I'm not refilling my Restasis prescription. I just ignore it.

Takes a while, is expensive (the slip from the drugstore says the cost is $1700 for a three month supply), does sting and works. Once your eyes don't feel like they're filled with sand - and that can take three months - you can go to either one vial a day or, since you only need one drop per eye, use the vial in the morning, save it, and use the rest at night, both suggestions coming from the opthalmologist who prescribed it. He tried the Systane stuff first but it was useless.
Under my insurance, the co-pay is $20 for a three-month supply which was less than the cost of the Systane. It's worth it.
