I don't think it's a black or white issue, but I think there's an element of truth in that.

I've met gay guys whose voices turned me off right when I met them. But as I've gotten to know them, I've become accustomed to their voices and grew to like them, I no longer shudder at the sound and I can see them as being more attractive than I initially though.
