I work with a guy who wears them. For a long time I only saw him on WebEx meetings and always thought he looked so stupid with them. Finally, I saw him in person and he's very tall, with a very large pregnant-looking belly. I think 1. He can't find a tie long enough and 2. Some Macy's personal shopper told him the bowtie would draw people's eyes up...which it certainly did.
