I miss Helen Slater

But OP, at that summer camp you could meet a camp counsellor that looked like Helen Slater. Or Kristy McNichol, or any other 80's VCR rewind fantasy.

She still rocks, acts, rocks, is awesome, and gorgeous.

One of the VERY few decent scenes in the film that introduced audiences to Ms. Slater.

I don't know if she has other skills, or family money, or a financially supportive spouse, but she seems to work when she wants (she's not a bad actress) and hasn't fucked her face up with botox and surgery like most desperate actresses her age. I commend her.

Helen had to bulk up to play Supergirl.

She was on "Smallville", playing either Clark's Kryptonian birth mother, or Kara's (Laura Van De Voort, who played "Supergirl" on that series)

"Supergirl" was an unfortunate film. But, damn, Hart Bochner was beautiful.
