Dear feminists: Gay men are men

Dear Feminists (this includes libfems, radfems, terfs, fun feminists, the whole fractured lot out there…)

This may come as a surprise to many feminists out there but I have to remind them that gay men are men (or males). But from reading everything written by them it obviously appears that they don’t know this.

Feminists can bash straight men all they want. I don’t care either way. I’m not a pro-men, MRA type and I don’t or rarely see eye to eye with them. I can’t relate to straight men. They’re not part of my life and I honestly don’t find them interesting in any way, shape or form. So this is where this text is coming from.

As I read as these feminists rants and tumblr posts everywhere, feminists only see one type of men: men. In their eyes, men are one big monolithic entity with no complex variety to it. They can never make the distinction between the gay men (or even bi men) and heterosexual men.

‘For women, all men are potential rapists.’

No, gay men don’t rape women. It should therefore read as

‘For women, all heterosexual men are potential rapists.”

By not making the distinction between straight men and gay/bi men or gender fluid men, feminists repeatedly erase the existence of gay men since they don’t rape women or are for the most part not part of their problem.

This is NOT an oversight. Feminists, seething with anger, apparently see all men alike. Or they don’t see gay men, like society, as masculine or even men. They see them as effeminate, quasi-women. There are enough gay men out there for them to realize that we do exist but apparently it’s not the case. I’m sure everyone will say something like “Of course, gay men don’t rape women. When we say ‘men’ we mean straight men in general.”

But gay men are men, in general.

This lack of distinction just doesn’t wash anymore, certainly in our pc world right now where everyone is so touchy with labels. It seems gay men don’t count or they fall into a terrible blind-spot feminists don’t care to notice is clearly there.

The problem is widespread and there’s an endless number of examples on Tumblr and on the internet but I’ll choose just a few examples to demonstrate my point:

“I’m so angry that the sex-pos movement is encouraging women - who already experience internalised misogyny and learned submission - to celebrate sexualised inequality and to embrace their internalisation of female sexual masochism as “empowerment.” It’s so manipulative and scary and disgusting. And men are fucking loving it.”

It should actually read : “And **straight** men are fucking loving it.”

“what better proof of patriarchys existence is there than women that claim to be “empowered” by giving men boners.” should read as:

“what better proof of patriarchys existence is there than women that claim to be “empowered” by giving **straight** men boners.”

——

Instead of using only ‘men’ you can use:

straight men str8 men strhate men heterosexual men het men whatever… but don’t just use ‘men’ ‘kay?

So, in closing, feminists you can bash straight men with all your heart’s content, I don’t care, but please don’t lump gay men, heck even bi and gender fluid men, into the same simplistic monolithic all-encompassing ‘men’ category in your writings. Please make sure there’s a distinction: i.e. gay men don’t rape women! It makes you all appear clueless, inline with patriarchy’s definition of masculinity, insensitive to the existence of gay men, who, in the end, are men too.

Rape isn't about sexuality, or sexual attraction at all. It's about power, end of.

A gay man could rape a woman. A gay man, somewhere, sometime, has.

Because he wanted to assert dominance and power over her, because a patriarchal society sanctions that. I doubt it's a common occurrence, maybe it's only ever happened once or twice, but you can bet it has.

And, you know what? There are lesbians who have raped boys. To assert their own power over someone they view as weaker. That's all it is.

by Anonymousreply 1July 27, 2014 4:56 PM
Because he wanted to assert dominance and power over her, because a patriarchal society sanctions that. I doubt it's a common occurrence, maybe it's only ever happened once or twice, but you can bet it has.

So all gay men are guilty until proven innocent. Nice to know.

by Anonymousreply 2July 27, 2014 5:05 PM

Don't feed the troll.

by Anonymousreply 3July 27, 2014 5:31 PM

This just makes me feel like raping. Even though I've not been near a pussy in 25 years.

by Anonymousreply 4July 27, 2014 5:33 PM

I'd let a straight guy rape me. In fact, I'd beg him to.

by Anonymousreply 5July 27, 2014 5:34 PM

"In their eyes, men are one big monolithic entity with no complex variety to it."

As opposed to right-wing anti-feminist men who think feminism is a monolithic entity and that all feminists are the same

"There are lesbians who have raped boys"

Um, no. Rape is about power but sexual attraction is at least part of it. And only a miniscule number of rapists are lesbians but you knew that, right?

by Anonymousreply 6July 27, 2014 5:36 PM

“I’m so angry that the sex-pos movement is encouraging women - who already experience internalised misogyny and learned submission - to celebrate sexualised inequality and to embrace their internalisation of female sexual masochism as “empowerment.” It’s so manipulative and scary and disgusting. And men are fucking loving it.”

Wait, what?

Can anyone translate?

by Anonymousreply 7July 27, 2014 5:40 PM

I think it's the penis. Men just happen to he attached to them.

by Anonymousreply 8July 27, 2014 9:30 PM

by Anonymousreply 11July 28, 2014 11:28 AM

Dear feminist cunts

As a gay man, I am so hurt that you don't make frequent reference to your supportive gay male brothers. Please join us at the datalounge, where you will find plenty of evidence of our sensitivity and compassion towards women. We like Cher, and Elaine Strich for example. And, some of us find the voice of Karen Carpenter to be very moving.

So, fuck you, and your rancid pussies, phew! shut your legs that smell is so bad , like tuna, OMG, LOL.

Love,

A Wounded Gay Man

by Anonymousreply 12July 28, 2014 11:35 AM

Gay shmay, OP, a penised-person is a penised-person is a penised-person. It WOUNDS and TRIGGERS and all penised-persons are RAPISTS, especially the gay ones who HATE WOMYN!

I'm telling you NOW so I don't have to tell you THEN. Just go stay in your lean-to in Brother Sun, eat your nutloaf and shut the fuck up.

by Anonymousreply 13July 28, 2014 12:20 PM

Men can be feminists too.

by Anonymousreply 14July 28, 2014 12:29 PM

Men can be feminists. But they need to step up when other men , gay or straight, are throwing out 'rancid pussy' lines.

by Anonymousreply 15July 28, 2014 12:32 PM

I agree R15. Many men, gay and straight, are misogynist. Ok I get that we don't want to have sex with women but the nasty comments about women's private parts or straight sex are not amusing at all.

I don't see women do the same about men but I encounter anti-men attitudes among lot of lesbians. I can do without those too.

But overall, I find the problem with gay men is that they are men.

by Anonymousreply 16July 28, 2014 1:00 PM
Rape isn't about sexuality

One of feminism's big lies that's been so often repeated no one questions it anymore.

"Rape has nothing to do with sex." What a load of malarkey. Think about it.

by Anonymousreply 17July 28, 2014 1:03 PM
I’m not a pro-men

Then you're a spineless, self-loathing piece of shit who has no business attempting to speak for men or any sexual orientation.

Stop hating yourself and being ashamed of being a man.

by Anonymousreply 18July 28, 2014 1:09 PM

Those lying, anti-rape feminists! They make me so angry, I don't mind telling you. How dare they say rape is about power. Lying bitches. Rape is about sex!And sex is fun. Always! I mean, please. I'll change places with a woman who's been raped ANY time. I'd love some of that straight cock, myself! So those feminist cunts and whiny rape victims can just shut up, as far as I, and the datalounge are concerned.

Love,

A typical datalounger

by Anonymousreply 19July 28, 2014 1:10 PM

r19= Typical feminist. Building straw men, responding to nothing anyone actually said.
And sex is fun. Always!

No one said this. It's half-wit "feminists" like you who have given the movement a bad name.

by Anonymousreply 20July 28, 2014 1:15 PM

No-one needs to build straw men when you have rancid pussy type gags all over the fucking datalounge.

Women are stereotyped on the DL as whining, entitled, lazy, greedy bitches who deprive their long-suffering husbands of sex and have the nerve to grow fat whilst they are at it. The hate for women on this site is everywhere, as is the fear that suffering = effeminate = woman = bad.

You have a nice day,R20.

by Anonymousreply 21July 28, 2014 1:25 PM

Women are not delicate feminine creatures that need your protection at every turn, r21. I think they can handle some raunchy bitchy jokes, which, in case you hadn't noticed, is Datalounge's sense of humor about EVERYTHING.

And if it bothers you so much, don't come here.

Believe it or not, you actually don't have to spend your life policing other gay men to mother-hen them whenever their statements don't comport with your tired, derivative ideas about feminism.

by Anonymousreply 22July 28, 2014 1:41 PM

R17 exactly. if rape has nothing to do with sex why don't rapist choose some other non-sexual way of exerting power?

the reason feminists can't admit that rape is about sex is because they can't accept the fact that the desire to rape is completely natural, inbuilt thing for straight men. every single straight guy fantasizes of raping women. and every single straight woman fantasizes about getting raped. the more violent the better.

having heterosexual rape banned by law is laughable. women want it. men want it. rape is only a problem if it results of STD or unwanted pregnancy.

by Anonymousreply 23July 28, 2014 1:48 PM

R23 provides a compelling example of why abortion should always remain legal.

by Anonymousreply 24July 28, 2014 2:05 PM
Men can be feminists. But they need to step up when other men , gay or straight, are throwing out 'rancid pussy' lines.

No, they don't "need" to do a goddamn thing for you. You are constantly bitching and moaning about this and demanding that other people deal with it for you. Some feminist you turned out to be.

You're actually an exhibitionist-masochist. If it's so fucking awful, so incredibly offensive to you, then stop coming to the Datalounge to find it. There are thousands, if not millions, of other internet sites you can visit. There is absolutely NO reason you ever have to read the words "rancid pussy" again [italic]unless you want to, [/italic] which, evidently, you do.

You get off on nagging, complaining and berating people for what they say. Then you come back looking for it so that you can run your "I'm a victim of you terrible, misogynist bullies" farce all over again. You use your faux-feminism as an excuse for engaging in hostile, repetitive, male-bashing behavior.

by Anonymousreply 25July 28, 2014 2:06 PM

R25 is a misogynyst and bigot. He just doesn't want anyone to point out exactly what he is.

by Anonymousreply 26July 28, 2014 2:15 PM

Keep fucking that chicken, R26.

by Anonymousreply 27July 28, 2014 3:34 PM

It looks more like R26 just doesn't want anyone to point out exactly what she is.

by Anonymousreply 28July 28, 2014 3:38 PM

Why are misandrist women allowed here?

by Anonymousreply 29July 28, 2014 3:44 PM

R25 breaks the ice at family gatherings by telling his mom to shut her legs or he'll have to open the window. Or, he cracks up his sister, who loves his bawdy gay humor, by asking her how her husband can stand the rotten tuna smell when he fucks her.

No delicate flowers in his family!

by Anonymousreply 30July 28, 2014 3:50 PM

The thing is, DL's issue with women is not just nasty "raunchy" jokes about vaginas or what have you, it's actual legitimizing of things like rape (see this thread) or domestic violence (see linked thread) or an enormous amount of hate lobbed at lesbians for being lesbian.

And to the latter point, more than one DLer has trolled women's blogs and L-chat and Michfest forums -- remember the guy who emailed a Michfester who had some obvious emotional issues, and tried to pay her to sneak pictures of naked lesbians during the festival? That's the kind of thing that'll earn you a side-eye from the police. No one seemed to care.

About 95% of the time, the slamming of "fraus" is just a meme and doesn't mean anything, but that other 5% is pretty fucking rotten, and a lot of regulars here excuse it. Then they whine because lesbians and fraus and feminists think they're assholes.

by Anonymousreply 31July 28, 2014 3:52 PM

Does this mean we can no longer grab women's boobies and use being gay to justify it?

by Anonymousreply 32July 28, 2014 3:53 PM

Feminists are just ugly women who can't get laid

by Anonymousreply 33July 28, 2014 4:04 PM

"Feminists" have simply internalized the attitudes straight men believe and espouse. They're the ones who believe that part of being a "real man" is being hetero. Why isn't the writer going after his real enemy?

by Anonymousreply 34July 28, 2014 4:05 PM

Feminists would stand up for R33's rights as a gay man, despite the fact that he is a raging asshole.

by Anonymousreply 35July 28, 2014 4:08 PM

Another stupid post, stupid article- rant really. Internet garbage.

by Anonymousreply 36July 28, 2014 4:13 PM

Without the feminists paving the way, gays wouldn't have made the advances that they have in equality.

Dear People Who Hate Datalounge,

Yes, we use words like cunt, fish, frau, and etc. We have always used them. Yes, we mock and bitch about women. We have always done that. We will not change what we do here to suit you. We don't care if you don't like the DL the way it is, we like it the way it is.

If it upsets you so much that you feel you have to complain about it on a daily basis (which you do), then obviously the Datalounge is not the site for you. There are plenty of other websites where your needs will be met. I wish you luck on them. Have a nice day.

Sincerely,

by Anonymousreply 43July 28, 2014 5:08 PM

Wowza, the author totally lumps all women into one monolithic category while insisting (rightly) that it shouldn't be done to men. Wtf.

by Anonymousreply 44July 28, 2014 5:10 PM

r43 is a troll. If he insists on normalizing hate-speech against women, then why is he in a thread about feminism? TO TROLL.

Get a life, r43. And some class, too. I hope you don't advocate for gay rights. We don't want misogynist hypocrites speaking for us.

by Anonymousreply 45July 28, 2014 5:13 PM

Dear feminists,

As a gay man, I am not interested in any way, shape, or form in anyone but other gay men. As far I am concerned, you are all exactly like, and I don't like any of you. Nonetheless, I believe that we gay men and our needs should be at the top of YOUR list of priorities. Before you dare utter a word about male-female relations, I demand that you think about where WE fit in, and take the utmost pains not to besmirch us or offend our sensibilities!

Bitterly,

Butthurt Gay Guy

by Anonymousreply 46July 28, 2014 5:18 PM

R43, the world has changed since you were born a long, long, long, long, long, long time ago. Amazing advances have been made. Gay people have equality rights and can marry in many countries and states. Black people aren't addressed as n*ggas. And no-one (sane) calls women cunts and fish and gash anymore.

by Anonymousreply 47July 28, 2014 5:27 PM

I've been here forever, and since day one many on DL have opposed hate speech.

It's has always been the crazy ones (MissHelenBedd) who used slurs here.

r43 is one of "them."

by Anonymousreply 48July 28, 2014 5:38 PM

Most women should be struck regularly, like gongs.

by Anonymousreply 49July 28, 2014 5:52 PM

If this were Salem Village, "our delicate and precious girls" would have had OP and anyone else who dared criticize or question them accused and hanged as witches by now. Same old shit and always the nattering goodwives incapable of entertaining any view outside the general status quo consensus.

This whole thing is about straight white middle-class female privilege. Other people are coming to the table and getting a spot. Not as these women's tolerated or amusing guests, but in their own right and on their own terms. As straight white middle-class men fancied themselves under attack in the 1970s/80s, we're seeing a particular group of (not all women) women realizing that a politics of inclusion will require them to give up some of their privilege so everyone can have some. It's frightening to them to realize their own complicity in and benefit from an unjust system, understandably so, and sexual assault and misogyny are pervasive enough. Combine that fear/dissonance and an urgent social issue or problem, add some hyperbole and projection from all genders and let the media puree it. It gives you an issue and a panic in which one side feels divinely motivated and unquestionably right in their views and attitudes toward the murkily defined "them" out here.

That way, you can just sit in the meeting house and point at the air and shriek at demons that only you can see.

by Anonymousreply 50July 28, 2014 5:55 PM

Personally, I think there's a lot of truth to what R50 says. Women seem to want their cake and to eat it, too. They want to be treated without discrimination, and yet, they want you to discriminate in their favor when it comes to language, in family law, in domestic disputes, etc.

They'll tell you to 'man up', and then tell you that you have to give them a handicap because they are women when it comes to alimony, child custody, and who knows what else.

So glad I'm gay.

by Anonymousreply 51July 28, 2014 6:23 PM

R50, like the OP, is proof that the Michfesters haven't cornered the market on hypersensitivity, victim complexes, and general batshit insanity.

by Anonymousreply 52July 28, 2014 6:23 PM

r50, quite simply put, you are an idiot.

Women and girls were the [italic]targets[/italic] of the Salem witch hunts, not the perpetrators.

The rest of your word salad is unreadable.

Every day, countless girls and women are assaulted, raped and murdered in America. What kind of privilege is that? To be unable to survive? Do all men consider rape an "entitlement," or just you...?

Who are these feminists that disrupt your life so? They are not on TV. They are not on the radio. They are not in the movies. Where is this feminist oasis that has yout panties in a wad? Where do these feminists roam? Because to me and the mainstream of society, they are INVISIBLE except when CRITICIZED.

by Anonymousreply 53July 28, 2014 6:23 PM

R50 sounds like a Republican horse's ass.

by Anonymousreply 54July 28, 2014 6:26 PM

by Anonymousreply 57July 28, 2014 6:34 PM
we're seeing a particular group of (not all women) women realizing that a politics of inclusion will require them to give up some of their privilege so everyone can have some

Here's the deal: Women don't have so much privilege they need to give some up. Women are still struggling with less pay, less equality, their bodies being appropriated by the whackadoo rightwingers who want to score political points, etc.

The same goes for LGB people. We talked about this some on the trans threads, about how trans people have the attitude that women and gay men have so much power they need to give some of it up to the trans movement. That's not true -- the power and privilege you need to be taking is from those who are really privileged: the hetero white guys.

The system you describe is one where hetero white guys have the most power and the rest of us are grabbing at the bits left behind. That's neither fair nor feasible.

R57 is a butthurt Frau full of hate

Come on sweetheart don't be mad just because you are physically repulsive

by Anonymousreply 59July 28, 2014 6:43 PM

Many women who call themselves Feminist or rant under the guise of feminism are just bitter, ignorant women trying to disguise their insecurity under something that is meant to empower. A true Feminist is in no way Anti-Men Gay or straight. She is pro-equality and knows that equality will never be achieved by tearing the other down.

by Anonymousreply 60July 28, 2014 6:48 PM

r59, are you trans...?

by Anonymousreply 61July 28, 2014 6:48 PM

r60, who are these "feminists" of which you speak?

Again, few women in the mainstream call themsevles feminists. Even [bold]Sinead O'Connor[/bold] doesn't have the balls to call herself a femnist.

Who are these ranting feminists victimizing gay men? Links, plese...credible links, that is...

I personally have never met a feminist who hated men. I know women who hate men, but they are not feminists. Again, few women identify as feminist these days.

Let's face it; it never had much of a point in the first place, r65. Boo hoo, so feminists don't often make a big point of excepting gay men when they discuss their problems with the ways men treat women. I can't see a lot of feminists rushing to concern themselves with this issue (most don't run around saying things like "all men are rapists" in the first place) nor do I think many sane gay men perceive it as a huge problem in their lives.

Women and gay men have the same common oppressors.

by Anonymousreply 68July 29, 2014 12:15 AM
Women and girls were the targets of the Salem witch hunts, not the perpetrators.

No, they were both, as any Massachusetts historian will tell you. FYI, men were also targets of the Salem witch hunts. Of the nineteen "witches" who were hanged on Gallows Hill that Summer and Fall, five were men. A sixth man was pressed to death, a seventh died in prison along with three more women. As many as thirteen more men and women may have died in prison while being held on charges of witchcraft. The records are murky and, as always, historians squabble.

In any event, without the active participation of the women and girls who lied, faked satanic possession, invented visions to support their accusations and named their neighbors as witches, the trials would never have gone anywhere near as far as they did. They share in the responsibility for the terrible consequences of their actions.

The issue some of you are repetitively arguing about is the fact that the Datalounge is essentially an unmoderated forum. If people want to call all women cunts, they are free to do so. If people want to call all men rapists, they are free to do so. Raging about it and trying to bully people into self-censorship is a complete waste of time. It's also annoying.

While you're getting all worked up about how this or that word makes you feel, take a moment to consider how your constant beating of this dead horse makes other people feel. That is if you're actually interested in how other people feel, which I'm aware is unlikely.

by Anonymousreply 69July 29, 2014 2:37 AM

Articulate historians are sexy. If I lived in Massachusetts, R69, I'd take you to dinner.

by Anonymousreply 70July 29, 2014 5:17 AM

I love raping to assert power.

by Anonymousreply 71July 29, 2014 5:54 AM

Thank you, r69, for your informative post. Posts like yours is why I enjoy DL.

Did the girls & women physically commit the hangings of the persecuted witches?

It's interesting that while most people equate the Salem Witch huntings with hysterical hatred toward women and girls, who had far less power and prestige than their male counterparts when a full 25% of the victims were male.
The issue some of you are repetitively arguing about is the fact that the Datalounge is essentially an unmoderated forum. If people want to call all women cunts, they are free to do so.

Directly cancels out
While you're getting all worked up about how this or that word makes you feel, take a moment to consider how your constant beating of this dead horse makes other people feel.

So it's ok to use the word "cunt" here, but it's not ok to assert that it is hate speech because doing so hurts the feelings of the person using the slur...?

by Anonymousreply 72July 29, 2014 10:59 AM

Feminists do not hate men, yet, they hate patriarchy.

Datalounger's that don't get it, would get it, and be against patriarchy, if DL'ers understood it. Traditional patriarchy is horribly brutal to gay men.

by Anonymousreply 73July 29, 2014 1:09 PM

Move it along, toots.

by Anonymousreply 74July 29, 2014 3:53 PM
Boo hoo, so feminists don't often make a big point of excepting gay men when they discuss their problems with the ways men treat women. I can't see a lot of feminists rushing to concern themselves with this issue

R69 is a very wise but it is wasted on feminists who are all man hating fuglies and want society to legislate laws for their fugliness

by Anonymousreply 76July 29, 2014 8:24 PM

Gaymenism is the future.

by Anonymousreply 77December 13, 2017 6:41 PM

Necromancy!

by Anonymousreply 78December 13, 2017 6:46 PM

Gay men are emasculated .

This thread is trollbait from 2014.

What fuckwit is bumping this shit? Matt?
Dear Feminists (this includes libfems, radfems, terfs, fun feminists, the whole fractured lot out there…)

It's hilarious that he lumps all feminists (some of whom are men) all together....then cries about all men being lumped together.

R6 = SJW, triggered

by Anonymousreply 82December 13, 2017 6:58 PM

They're long gone, R82. This thread is 3 1/2 years old.
What fuckwit is bumping this shit? Matt?

Ding ding ding.

by Anonymousreply 84December 13, 2017 7:01 PM

Except for the "Matt" and "Poo Shoes" accuser troll, who is with us forever, apparently.

by Anonymousreply 85December 13, 2017 7:02 PM

Enough, sockpuppet at R85. You've been all over DL pretending like there's one person unfairly accusing people of being Matt or Dvida. Stop spamming DL and get a life.

by Anonymousreply 86December 13, 2017 7:03 PM

Sigh.. No, I really haven't, I'm a unique person who also finds the person or person(s) accusing everyone of being someone with no proof, tiresome. Sorry to disappoint!

by Anonymousreply 87December 13, 2017 7:06 PM

gay men fear women.

by Anonymousreply 88December 13, 2017 7:23 PM

SJWs don't go far enough.

by Anonymousreply 89December 16, 2017 6:38 AM

Sausage lovers = women... Tuna tasters = men

by Anonymousreply 90December 16, 2017 6:51 AM

Stupid homophobic bigots = R90.

by Anonymousreply 91December 16, 2017 7:20 AM

I'm really sick of the myth that continually gets perpetuated that rape is solely about power and domination. It isn't. Lust and sexual gratification also plays a significant part.

Not sure why certain people want to whitewash that aspect.

by Anonymousreply 92December 16, 2017 8:06 AM

How was I supposed to know dressing as Charlie Chaplin would get me raped? Maybe I should have gone with my original costume choice and gone as Charo.

by Anonymousreply 93December 16, 2017 8:09 AM
‘For women, all men are potential rapists'...

Hi

Jenn-durr is not fluid. It doesn't exist, so it's more of a gas. And it stinks like one.

by Anonymousreply 95December 16, 2017 9:29 AM

Say this to the SJWs on Tumblr. A post saying all gay men are misogynists and rapists got 200k notes. Everyone on it claimed gay men are horrible and no better than straight men. Apparently gay men love to touch boobs and basically sexually assault women.

by Anonymousreply 96December 16, 2017 10:23 AM

by Anonymousreply 97December 16, 2017 12:40 PM

Excellent article.

By not making the distinction between straight men and HOMOSEXUAL men, feminists repeatedly erase the existence of gay men since they don’t rape women.

FIXED.

Bi/ gender fluid men are ALSO potential rapists.

by Anonymousreply 99December 16, 2017 12:55 PM
gay men fear women.

Other way around, actually. Nothing drives women crazier than men who ignore or aren't even remotely interested in them.

by Anonymousreply 100December 16, 2017 1:01 PM

Women go ballistic when they can't pussy whip a man.

by Anonymousreply 101December 16, 2017 1:02 PM

R53 must be a women's studies major. Who else could read The Crucible and see women as merely the victims and not the perps! Astonishing.

R101, as time goes by that seems to be more and more the case. What gets lost in all this is all the generalizing. Women have had the right to vote for generations. Guess what? Half of them still hate abortion. More than half of them don't believe in the spooky patriarchy (they know they have it better than men, they know the rape stats are phony, they know the wage gap is a laughable myth these days.)

The arc of history, for almost all species and all mammals, is one that ever favors the female, until the system collapses. We seem to be at a point where we might opt for true equality instead and feminists are panicking. Let's not be Rome.

So many humorless feminists here, but is there any other kind? And if anyone thinks feminism is underground, confined to academia and indie art scenes, they must be an eldergay. Feminists (the shrieking, misandric, joy-killing, straw-men burning, back patting, U.N. speaking, words = violence, air conditioning is sexist, gay men are misogynistic rapists, etc., sort) have been waging a culture war in the West for the past five or so years. They lose every battle yet the feminist media portrays them winning the war, never calling them out on their patriarchy fantasy and invented statistics. Women in tech, video games, scifi, comic books have all been battlesites, with nutty feminists (male and female) vs reasonable people (male and female.)

OP loses my respect for finding the need to at once castigate men before daring to criticize his feminist overlords and painting all straight men with the same brush as feminists do. If feminists are 100% wrong about gay men, what makes you think they're 100% about straight men?

I have more in common with any random straight guy than I do with any random woman, and certainly more than any random feminists. It's funny: in reality there is a brotherhood between men while online we pretend there isn't, yet in reality there is no sisterhood among women in real life but we pretend otherwise online. Men don't need to oppress women, women are doing that just fine (while also blaming their bad behavior on "internalized misogyny".)

Here is an entry point to the rabbit hole for any gay men here who don't hate being men. There is also a great history of the emergence of the gay rights movement and how it was invaded by lesbian feminists who hampered it (like not giving a shit about sodomy laws.)]

R104 - That cover is perfect.

by Anonymousreply 105December 16, 2017 2:03 PM

I was raped because of a gay man. He used me to lure straight men. He drugged me and they raped me.

So OP is wrong about gay men being just as dangerous to women as straight men.

But anyway why attack feminists? All we care about is protecting women and children. Perhaps you should go after people with power? Like straight men / trans.

by Anonymousreply 106December 16, 2017 2:33 PM

Fish need to be raped.

It is nature.
‘For women, all men are potential rapists.’

What a moron.

"Potential" = if I'm walking down the street at night, I don't know if you're gay, straight, whatever. A man in a dress has hit on me. Of course I don't expect gay men to rape me. But as gay men are so insistent to point out, we can't necessarily tell if you're gay (well, it's usually obvious, but you know).

by Anonymousreply 111December 16, 2017 5:31 PM

White feminism is racist because whiteness is inherently racist in theory and in practice.

by Anonymousreply 112December 16, 2017 5:32 PM

wow, that article is really reaching for victimhood. come on, millennials, stop this shit.

by Anonymousreply 113December 16, 2017 5:34 PM

Gay men are indeed men. And that's the problem.

by Anonymousreply 114December 16, 2017 5:55 PM

R113 throws the "v" word around in order to delegitimize serious concerns about heterosexual grasping at straws to justify any and all matter of systemic violation of gay men's rights.

by Anonymousreply 115December 16, 2017 5:59 PM

Misogynists are men who treat women the way that women treat each other.

by Anonymousreply 116December 16, 2017 6:11 PM

Sisterhood is beautiful, r116. And powerful...and global.

by Anonymousreply 117December 16, 2017 7:52 PM

r102- not anymore GIRL!! Women are more united and empowered than ever you flaming queen!!

by Anonymousreply 118December 16, 2017 10:53 PM

Please. Some women would rather attack other women than admit when a man is right.

by Anonymousreply 119December 16, 2017 10:53 PM

It's changing! women are realizing the truth. The ME TOO movement has been miraculous for women's rights.

by Anonymousreply 120December 16, 2017 10:55 PM

What woman did Kevin Spacey assault or rape, R95?

by Anonymousreply 121December 16, 2017 11:09 PM

R100

Ha, you wish.

But keep pretending. Whatever gets you through the day, I guess.

by Anonymousreply 122December 16, 2017 11:12 PM

Trans men are men!

by Anonymousreply 123December 16, 2017 11:35 PM

Nothing with a vagina and without Y chromosomes will ever be male. BLOCKED.

by Anonymousreply 124December 16, 2017 11:43 PM

Bulldozers and Diesels are men!

by Anonymousreply 125December 17, 2017 7:50 AM

Most women won't ever have a man's back, and that includes most of your fag hags. I've been the gbbf shoulder to cry on long enough to know that women are women's worst enemies. The patriarchy is truly a matriarchy. And yes, whether overtly or subconsciously, women wig out over gay men because they can't control us. They have no power and it pisses them off. And thus they long around 'gay men are mysogynists". I talk with a lot of radfems as I fight the trannie bullshit and the misandry and homophobia is often overwhelming. A lot of them are lesbians and it's an important lesson to learn that, when push comes to shove, lesbians probably won't have gay mens' backs.
