Other than Ed Asner, I've never heard of any of those "celebrities".

Ed Asner's balls hit the floor long before they hit the lane.

Slap R1, Willona!

[quote] Other than Ed Asner, I've never heard of any of those "celebrities".
Adrienne Barbeau was the original Rizzo in Grease, and also in the TV Series Maude, feature films, The Fog (original), Escape From New York, Swamp Thing, Creep Show among many others. Gail Fisher was most famous for playing Mike Conners' secretary Peggy in "Mannix."
Henry Polic was in the TV show Webster, among others. Joseph Campanella has been a well known Tv and film actor for some time, and probably most famous on the DL for playing Ann Romano's ex-husband on One Day At A Time.
Ja'net Dubois was Willona on Good Times. Bill Macy was played Walter, Maude's husband on the TV series Maude.
Lois Nettleton was also a well known and well respected actress. Richard Anderson was on both The Six Million Dollar Man and The Bionic Woman series'. (He's the reason MacGuyver had to be billed as Richard Dean Anderson.)
I think you need to turn in your gay card and DL membership, R1.

So many stars!

And a DL icon for her guest spot on [italic]The Golden Girls[/italic] as Dorothy's lesbian friend Jean, who falls in love with Rose.

And let's not forget Joe Campanella was George Clooney's partner on "Golden Girls" as well!

R4 Cut me some slack - I was born in the 1980's!
by Anonymous | reply 8 | July 26, 2014 12:20 AM |
Joe also played Thelma Harper's boyfriend on Mama's Family.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | July 26, 2014 12:25 AM |
To R1: So you are not familiar with ANYTHING that happened before you were born?
by Anonymous | reply 10 | July 26, 2014 12:56 AM |
Wake me up when it's REAL bowling: candlepins!
by Anonymous | reply 11 | July 26, 2014 12:59 AM |
R10 I am, but becoming a scholar on shitty sitcoms that aired before I was born was never exactly a priority. Sorry.

Any clips?
by Anonymous | reply 13 | July 26, 2014 2:16 AM |
I know r6 and r7 how can ppl here forget.
Everyone must be checked by their GG appearances, but of course.
That said, I grew up on 70s reruns, but I had never seen nor heard of celebrity bowling until I saw a clip on I Love the 70s. So I guess it was like the ugly step sister of Battle of the Network Stars?

Oh wait - Jed Allan - is that the same Jed Allan of Santa Barbara?
That would be interesting.

I eat shit.r

CLIPS? The full episodes are linked on the page I put in the original post!

Thanks R17
Adrienne can bowl.

This is so camp. Thanks for the link, OP.

Chris Hardwick of the Nerdist podcast and show has done bowling games versus different celebrities and casts/crews. I think one was against Mad Men and Jon Hamm did remarkably well. Most should be available on You Tube.

DL, please don’t crucify me for resurrecting a four-year-old thread, but I just discovered this on Amazon Prime (and have also learned there are several episodes on YouTube, too!). What a hoot!
Got a real kick out of some is the contestants: ElIzabeth Ashley paired with ex-husband James Farentino vs. Brenda Vaccaro and Michael Douglas, a bare-midriffed Edy Williams, the Lennon Sisters, John Saxon, Laurence Harvey, Kate Jackson, Jean-Pierre Aumont, a hot-pantsed Barbara Nichols, Beau Bridges, Lucie Arnaz, Peter Lupus, Angie Dickinson, Ernest Borgnine — and so many others!
Best bowling team (because I’m sure that DL was dying to know) was Michael Cole and Greg Morris — they were excellent.
And host Jed Allan was mighty easy on the eyes, even if his regular referring to the female players as “honey” really harkened back to another time!

R12. So you limit your scholarship to current shitty sitcoms. You specialize.

Yes indeed, we too use "cookies." Take a look at our privacy/terms or if you just want to see the damn site without all this bureaucratic nonsense, click ACCEPT. Otherwise, you'll just have to find some other site for your pointless bitchery needs.
