Yay. I love him.

Great accomplishment, but can't you get a No. 1 album these days with 25,000 copies sold? Something that would never be possible even 10 years ago?

I really do love Word Crimes. The video is perfect.

r4, there's still competition. The numbers have changed for the music industry. Doesn't matter. It's like a loaf a bread costing a few cents decades ago, and now it costs an arm and a leg. Things change, but competition stays the same.

Yeah, chart positions don't really mean anything these days; it's overall sales and longevity that matter.

Word Crimes is great but I also love "Tacky", his take on Pharrell's "Happy."

Today, a lot of albums have big, or big by today's standards, sales the first week, and then drop off. Sia had the number 1 album last week with about 50,000 sold. But I didn't see it listed in this week's top 10.

Not everyone buys a whole album anymore either, you can just download the single you like and not have to buy all the crap you don't want.
The only people who sell entire albums are artists with big long-term fan bases not "pop stars" who just care about charting on the radio.
Someone like my dad would buy "Call Me Maybe" but he's not going to buy the whole album.

Shoving someone down people`s throats works, apparently.

I'm not a fan of Weird Al - his shit is too pie in the face for my tastes - but I appreciate how masterful he was in rolling out this new record.

I liked "Eat It." I still sing it at picky kids.

Like a Surgeon never ceases to crack me up. His Madonna impression is spot on.

I'm surprised Allan Sherman had the last number one comedy album. I thought it would be The First Family. I remember that album being huge. Then Kennedy got assassinated and nobody ever played it again.
