Is Scott Bakula gay or just gay-friendly?

Two gay-themed shows I've recently watched have both featured Scott in a supporting role: the TV series Looking, and the feature film Geography Club.

Two projects released so closely together...is he trying to tell us something?

No hun, people work for paychecks first and foremost, and pay lip-service when it's beneficial for them to do so.

From your lips to god's ears honey. LOVE me some Bakula. He was also in Behind the Candelabra.

I knew him when he was younger and starting out in the business. I showered with him, shared a dressing room, and observed his habits.

Not only was there no sign of gayness there, he spent time nailing the stray cooch that showed an interest. He also was focused, dull, uncreative and self-absorbed. Thus, success!

R3, I am unbelievably turned on right now. The shower? Really!! More.

by Anonymousreply 4March 27, 2014 12:44 AM

He's one of the rare straight guys over 60 who is in absolutely incredible physical shape, so they often cast him as an elder-gay type... if they hired someone like Wilford Brimley they don't think it would be as believable, since Hollywood wants to believe all gay men (except for whatisname on Modern Family) are incredibly fit.

by Anonymousreply 5March 27, 2014 12:52 AM

R5 He's 59.

by Anonymousreply 6March 27, 2014 12:53 AM

I'm gay-adjacent.

by Anonymousreply 7March 27, 2014 12:54 AM

Same thing.

by Anonymousreply 8March 27, 2014 12:55 AM

LOL. I lusted for him all through Quantum Leap. I wanted to leap his quantum!

I just like the way he's put together. I'd still do him in a minute.

I guess I was right. To my chagrin, he never did ping for me. It was because he was so good at playing female characters on Quantum Leap. Gay guys always suck at playing women.

I love him as well.

He's looking a bit too thin, though, which makes him appear older.

He did great in that NCIS episode, so maybe the series will get picked up.

I think Bakula's female partner of nearly two decades would disagree with him being gay, OP.

by Anonymousreply 11March 27, 2014 2:48 AM

He was HOT in Behind The Candelabra. I would have done him over the character played by Matt Damon

by Anonymousreply 12March 27, 2014 3:22 AM

r3 big/average/small? cut/uncut?

by Anonymousreply 13March 27, 2014 3:25 AM

When I was a kid, he was one of my first TV crushes on Quantum Leap. He single handedly made my love hairy chests.

The commercial for NCIS: New Orleans was emblematic of CBS' contempt for its audience. When Scott Bakula's character says "Laissez les bons temps rouler," Gibbs utters the translation for the three people in America who didn't know what it meant.

15 replies and no one has brought up how incredibly hot he was in Enterprise?

Not gay though. Known pussyhound.

poor r11

I saw him in the off Broadway show "3 Guys Naked From The Waist Down" when he was first starting his career in NYC and he literally had an 8 pack....body of death, great singer and actor and so handsome.

by Anonymousreply 18March 27, 2014 4:07 PM

Loved him on Enterprise and Quantum Leap.

R15, You really think nearly everyone in America knows what "Laissez les bons temps rouler" means? We apparently grew up on different planets.

by Anonymousreply 19March 27, 2014 4:14 PM

Everyone on my planet knows what it means, R19.

As a budding gayling I took note of him on Designing Women. That show never had much male eye candy so he definitely stood out.

by Anonymousreply 23July 5, 2021 8:02 PM

He played gay in American beauty I believe (too lazy to look it up)

by Anonymousreply 24July 5, 2021 8:06 PM

He’s always been hot to me. Not a traditional handsome type, but that’s what sets him apart from all the others.

by Anonymousreply 25July 5, 2021 8:07 PM

Great in the Anyone Can Whistle concert with Bernadette and Madeline Kahn

He was actually supposed to have been a bigger part of the show, but he was so likable, they had a hard time selling the idea that Mary Jo's ex was an asshole.
