DMT

Have you smoked or otherwise consumed the "spirit molecule"? What was your experience like? Did your life change after the experience? Did you see *them*? I really want to try it, but I'm a tiny bit scared.

Why would you want to? Yikes.

by Anonymousreply 2March 16, 2014 2:47 AM

I knew a girl who smoked DMT once and hallucinated she died. And then she died.

by Anonymousreply 3March 16, 2014 2:48 AM

[quote] I was going through something very fucking serious. You’re beyond consciousness—but you are consciousness—and you want nothing to tie you down to this physical realm. I went through so many dreams and so many scenarios. It was basically a concentrated dream. I was awake but I couldn’t make the dream stop.

No thanks.

by Anonymousreply 4March 16, 2014 2:48 AM

How can you get ahold of this stuffÉ

by Anonymousreply 5March 16, 2014 2:52 AM

I took magic mushrooms twice, and both times it was like being in a horror film. No psychedelic drugs for me anymore.

by Anonymousreply 6March 16, 2014 3:03 AM

I am afraid I would see the Reptilians or Nordic people---or any of the other horrors from the Hollow Earth. I HAVE seen a roast, though.

by Anonymousreply 7March 16, 2014 3:16 AM

Hipsters, sigh. DMT is nothing new. It was around in the '90s along with a lot of other phenethylamines.

It is an amazing high. In the right circumstances and with the right people, I think this type of drug is truly mind expanding and beneficial.

However, unless you have experience with psychedelics, this is NOT the substance to start with. It can be VERY intense and disorienting. If you've had experience with mushrooms, ex, and acid and have a source for such thing you feel you can trust? Go for it.

by Anonymousreply 10March 16, 2014 5:28 AM

As your attorney, I advise you to try adrenochrome instead.

"Being a devout rationalist, I discarded this as a possibility. Until the conversation continued. And Jay spoke the following words which shattered my grip on rationality.

'Did ya’ll notice a more human-looking figure, like, in the corner of the place they took you?'

My jaw dropped. No. Fucking. Possible. Way. I no longer knew what to think. I still don’t." (top of page 5)

This stuff is completely fascinating. It's naturally found in every living thing, in different levels. It serves no obvious purpose but it's almost like the life to death transition molecule but what would be the evolutionary point? What would be the evolutionary advantage of compassionate (yes, that's anthropomorphic) death?

There is none.

So who put it there -- in us -- and why?

by Anonymousreply 17May 14, 2016 12:31 AM

I won't link to Alex Jones, him being psychotic and a fascist and all, but his most bizarre rant ever had to do with the machine elves and how they'll kill us all.

by Anonymousreply 18May 14, 2016 12:35 AM

Where can you obtain DMT ?

by Anonymousreply 19May 14, 2016 12:35 AM

R19 I think it's highly illegal. But not dangerous. In fact, it's supposedly one of the safest drugs to take. Yet, still illegal.

Why?

You can get a permit to use ayahuasca for religious reasons but I wonder if you have to prove membership into a tribal nation? The whole thing is odd.

by Anonymousreply 20May 14, 2016 12:43 AM

Like any drug it enhances your mood exponentially. When you are in a good mood and are not easily scared it can be a pleasant trip, but if you are sad or depressed and easily scared you will face your scariest nightmares.

by Anonymousreply 21May 14, 2016 12:45 AM

Is this why different ancient civilizations created some of the same things? Did they get their hands on DMT and have similar experiences while on it?

If you take the the article at R16 as a truthful account, how did two different people see the same thing, the same guy standing in the corner, on the trip? It's not like they both saw the same things in the room, the material (for want of a better word) room. They both saw something similar in the DMT realm. Similar beings.

Even if both their minds morphed the same object in the room into something else, why would their separate minds morph it into the same thing? He described it as an actual place they visited, actual beings they saw and not so, it was as if they saw the same movie.

R21 Have you done it? if so, would you mind describing your trip?

by Anonymousreply 23May 14, 2016 12:49 AM

I want to make it clear that I am not a drug user, at all. Not even prescrips. Drugs, regular trips, are of no interest to me. However, DMT is particularly bizarre. The similar experiences, the "light" the "cellophane rip", etc.

by Anonymousreply 24May 14, 2016 12:50 AM

Of course, you have psychedelic artist alex Grey who has long painted about these trips. Lots of his motifs are similar to the "one eye" pineal gland signs flashes by musicians. Maybe that's the height of luxury; having regular access to this stuff. Maybe it's used to influence and control people who are assets.

What I find very interesting, is how many people who are definite Atheists, Agnostics and pragmatic scientists, come back from these experiences utterly convinced in an afterlife, something like God and the existence of a spirit, a tangible consciousness that can be removed from the body.

They all say the same thing: It's changed their life forever. What is this stuff?!

by Anonymousreply 27May 14, 2016 1:02 AM

You need to do a pineal gland detox first. Fluoride flush.

by Anonymousreply 28May 14, 2016 1:03 AM

R28 What was your entire experience on it?

by Anonymousreply 29May 14, 2016 1:05 AM

What does this elf look like ?

by Anonymousreply 30May 14, 2016 1:09 AM

R30 You have to read all the experiences. It's unreal. There are many about things called the "clockwork elves" which doesn't necessarily mean elves but beings. Almost always described as mischievous. The way they describe them, makes me think of fractals. The symmetry and repeating patterns.

The guy in R16 has another description. Everyone talks about this feeling of "crossing over", they talk about "The Light" but never being allowed to go too far.

I know a woman who has done it several times. She said that the effect is short lived, but totally unique from other psychedelics. She claims that she now has the true meaning of life and that an afterlife exists. That being said, I've had similar experiences described at R16's link, by the author, while dreaming.

by Anonymousreply 38May 14, 2016 1:34 AM

r38 Apparently, it's actually used in dreaming and although inconclusive, most researchers think it's secreted from the pineal gland, as it's similar in structure to melatonin and seratonin.

Interesting that he saw shadow people, only that they were in a more three dimensional form. So that's where they come from, and the hat man too (another trippers account) and I guess the fairy people reside in this land also.

Either a) DMT allows us access into another realm by opening up our perception or b) We all have the same symbolic archetypes imprinted in our brains which is why we hallucinate the same objects.

One scientist swears that grey alien abductions are in fact DMT releases.

R46 Don't think I would ever try it but the very existence of the stuff fascinates me. And that it's found in the body explicitly used at birth and death. It's like something intended it's use for those transitions and it's quite a compassionate thing to have available in a living creature. Comforting an organism during death doesn't seem to serve any kind of evolutionary advantage, so the existence of DMT sticks out for me as something tied to the fundamentals of our existence. It's mysterious.

I want to try ayahuasca but can’t deal with the 2 week meat n meds detox, the trip to Peru, and the 24 hours of purging in a bucket with other people who paid $2k for the pleasure.

DMT seems less fuss, if you can get it.

by Anonymousreply 51June 4, 2019 5:12 PM

At a convention, I attended several presentations by scholar Graham Hancock, who believes humans transitioned from the primitive to the actively spiritual through hallucinogens. He is a major believer in using ayahuasca, and admitted to using it at least 63 times. He has even written a book about it, “Supernatural,” describing his experiences.

As a man who’s been clean and sober for over 30 years, I asked him if it was possible to have such experiences without using drugs, and he responded that it is, but requires a lot more discipline.

I’m in no hurry.

by Anonymousreply 52October 2, 2019 5:56 PM

Meditation can trigger the pineal gland.

by Anonymousreply 53October 2, 2019 6:32 PM

Fascinating. I want to learn more about it.

by Anonymousreply 54October 2, 2019 7:04 PM

Then follow the path of all the buddhas, R52, and sit in noble silence. For as long as it takes. Under a fig tree. I'm not kidding.

I've done no hallucinogens whatsoever, but have experienced alternate states after hours of meditation. The strongest experiences were during chanting. Sound is used as a mechanism/portal/technique to regularly experiencing 'disconnect' and expansion. As it's purely subjective, you cannot replicate the experience of others exactly, but many relate similar 'trips' as that of the Buddha, who saw demons, beings of lights, etc. while in this state. He also spoke of 'fractals' and how we occupy such a tiny space of what is going on in such a huge universe.

I admit to being curious about hallucinogens as a way of possibly deepening those states, but I'm too much of a normie to ever go there. I'm happy sitting in peace.

by Anonymousreply 55October 2, 2019 9:05 PM

It was around in Swinging London in 1968. Mick Jagger is said to have smoked it on the set of "Performance." The experience of an LSD trip in 15 minutes. So it is said.

Bump, because this was an interesting thread.

by Anonymousreply 57July 18, 2020 3:06 AM

I live in NY. There are plenty of Ayahuasca ceremonies around here.
