Correct. My mother was the same. Took me until age 40 to realize the damage that was done and the amount of life wasted looking after a woman who refused to care for herself. Easier to lean on me.

SPY magazine did a lovely tell-all about their behavior on the set of (I think) "The Marrying Man". I don't recall many of the details of their double-diva-dom, except that Kim wouldn't settle for having her makeup touched up between close-up shots. No, she had to have her makeup completely removed and re-applied between takes, something that made filming take about 20x longer than it should have.

I do miss SPY. It was the only publication that ever bothered to do well-researched and entertaining tell-all articles about celebrities. Damn, you should have read what they said about Stephen Segeal...

I really feel sad for Kim Basinger. I once saw a show on E! which was about celebrities with mental disorders. They said that Kim had her first episode at the age of 9 when she had a panic attack in school. She also had a breakdown in a supermarket following which she locked herself in her house for 6 months. Even Stephen Baldwin publicly called her mentally unstable because she locked herself and Ireland in a bathroom when he came to visit Alec and Kim. Kim also said that during her pre-fame days she would wear a silk bathrobe and play the piano all night long because she felt "suffocated".

The show also had a segment about our dearest Goop. They said that Gwyneth felt like throwing her spawn,Moses out of the window as she was suffering from post natal depression.

Bump. I'm watching "LA Confidential," first time since I saw it in the theater originally. I don't know what it is about her, but she leaves me cold.
