QUESTION: Is The Era Of The Modern Gay Mecca Over?

Queerty readers had a lot to say about our first person op-ed written by one half of a couple who packed up their bags and moved from New York City to Michigan. There is no doubt that New York, San Francisco and Provincetown are historic cities for LGBT people, but gone are the days when they were the only options where we could live openly and honestly. With marriage equality and challenges to prohibitive marriage laws spreading throughout the United States at a rapid rate, and the fact that LGBT people are more accepted now than any other time in history, it begs the question: Is the era of the modern LGBT mecca over?
