Will New Jersey STOP playing those fucking 'Stronger Than the Storm' commercials now?
Can we all stop calling it "SUPER storm"? Let's face it, it was not a "super" storm. It was branded as such only because it hit here in New York and in Jersey and the national media, being based in NYC, wanted it to suggested that the locals somehow suffered more than those of other natural disasters.
Super Storm Sandy was the northeast's manifestation of hurricane envy.
You know it's true!
It was the second-costliest hurricane in United States history and the largest Atlantic hurricane on record.
Yankees are soft and weak.
I thought it was named Frankenstorm.
[quote]suggested that the locals somehow suffered more than those of other natural disasters.
With the exception of Katrina, and in terms of the amount of damage it did, they did suffer more than those of other natural disasters. Of course we are talking about people who lost actual homes, not trailers and shacks.
Gee, my house got destroyed, and I lost everything. Let's rebuild on the exact same spot. Morons!
The sky was so grey that day.
The most tragic thing was it didn't suck Gov. Xtra Crispie out to sea.
And I suppose, like 9/11, we'll have another excuse in New York to mourn and moan and carry on until the next tragedy hits.
Did they delay debates because of the anniversary?
R10 Exactly. Isn't that a pisser. To delay something nobody will watch anyway?
Everything is worse when it happens to New Yorkers. They are the center of the universe, don't you know. Bunch of arrogant asses....
And alleged;y there is to be a moment of silence to commemorate the explosion of the 14th Power Station that closed down power in much of the city for five fucking days. WTF? I had no power, no water, and no elevator for those 5 days. I don't ever want to be reminded...
