Is Justin Bieber Trying To Be The Younger Justin Timberlake?
Justin Bieber released a new song "All That Matters" and I swear this kid is trying to be a younger Justin Timberlake with this R&B soul music. His music is no more pop for his teeny fan girls. I don't know what his weird obsession is with trying to be urban and hood, does he not realize he is white from Canada? What do you all think?
I'm not a fan of Timberlake but he has never acted us unprofessional and spoiled as Bieber. That is something that little brat doesn't comprehend.
Bieber is insane. Timberlake is not.
Finally I am back on DL!
I wish this wigger would go away. The only white person that was TRUE to r&b, especially when her record company (not Motown) wanted her to be pop was Teena Marie.
It wouldn't be surprising if JT is one of JB's role models. JT seems to have had more maturity or at least better "handling" at JB's age. His behavior certainly doesn't reflect well on Usher, who is his manager I believe. JB is talented, but I don't think he writes his own songs.
While Timberlake is wildly over-praised, he can sing and dance.
Bieber can do neither thing very well.
R14 Beiber lost his voice as he got older. He use to be able to sing really really well as a kid.
It's sad that singers like Teena Marie and Karen Young sang soul and did it better than any black woman and yet the myth persists that whites can't sing soul, because blacks are so afraid of giving up what little they got.
You can be white and sing soul and you can be an aboriginal from Aussie and sing a German Opera.
So stop with the fuckin' racist comments you AIDS infested 'mo.
and don't forget Amy Winehouse
Amy Winehouse was one of the best that EVER did it!
In the sense of having a hugely successful pop career? Probably.
Young Bieber doing an acoustic cover of Cry Me a River by Justin Timberlake. He sings it pretty good.
r3, white people doing "black" music has been a money maker for decades. From Elvis to Eric Clapton and Hall and Oates to Eminem the white mainstream loves the black sound from white faces.
[quote]What do you all think?
I think you know.
R22's understanding of musical history and popular culture is, um, rather spotty and indicates some unpleasant personal issues.
And we suppose that Marian Anderson and Leontyne Price fulfill all that desire for white sound from black faces.
I think Justin Bieber looks incredibly delicious. I'd like to have hot butt sex with him every day and for many hours. His music is another matter. With Timberlake, I wanted to fuck him less and listen to his cd more.
r24, no personal issues here. What I said is true, I remember reading an interview from Tommy Mottola, the former head of Sony Music, where he flat out stated that a record labels wet dream is a white male artist that does black music well. There was once a time in society where pictures of white teens where put on black artists' records to comfort white parents.
It's been proven time and time again that people tend to be more comfortable with and accepting of others that look like or resemble them. Ask yourself why are the most famous non-white celebrities (Beyonce, Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez Halle Berry, etc)very Eurocentric in appearance?
R26 just said what I've always thought. If an artist looks white, but can sing black they will be an instant sensation.
Bieber in bed with 2 male friends, Lil Za and Lil Twist.
R28 I would not be surprised if Justin messed with Black dudes.
R16 no way in hell were Teena or Karen "better than any black woman". You probably feel that way as a white person who is outraged at "whites not getting their due respect!". Both of those women you mentioned were great singers but not even close to the best ever. Plenty of black women sing/sang better than them.
R17 fuck no. Amy never had the greatest voice.
In terms of music style and getting dicked down by black guys, yes Bieber is similar to TimberFake. Bieber has Usher and his non-famous-but-desperate wannabe rapper friends pounding his pussy while TimberFake has had Timbaland, Jay-Z, Nelly, T.I., Pharrell and Drake.
It's not like TimberFake was the first white guy to try "acting" black though. He's just the most recent example until Bieber came along. Apparently the 2 Justins think that "growing up" means you have to be a poser.

Yeah, but all she ever achieved was 'one hit wonder' status.

Teena and Karen better than Aretha, Gladys and Chaka in their prime? You have lost your mind with that shit. Even Teena Marie, if she were still here, wouldn't dare say some stupid bullshit like that. Yet you're nothing but a shit-stirring, so you knew exactly what you were doing when you made that ridiculous comment.
Don't get me wrong, Teena Marie was the most soulful white singer ever, male or female, and all white soul artists are certainly in her shadow. However, unless you're ignorant of her history, she was highly praised and embraced by the black community while it was whites that virtually ignored her. Black people do not throw out titles like The Ivory Queen of Soul to just anyone. They knew she was truly unique. So please know what you're talking about before making such asinine statements!
