Never was and never will be. He's disgusting and always looks dirty.
and the smell
Of course he is- would love to see the Jake trolls post their pics. In their dreams they come close to men like him.
Are you the person who freeped the poll, R5? I'm the OP and about an hour after it was created, the tally was running 13-4 in favor of no. Then two hours later, the No tally was unchanged and the Yes count had ballooned by over 100.
Anyway, I think Jake looks like a horse.
Never had any appeal to me.
Absofuckinglutely. He's usually my first choice in those "You get to do ANY celebrity" threads (sometimes Chace or Zac sneaks through).
He's never been a favorite, but it's hard to deny he is an attractive man. And at times, like when he's especially buff, he's turned me on a lot.
"but it's hard to deny he is an attractive man"
Easy for me. He's disgusting.
r16, well at least r1 got you to post a hilarious critique.
With those big blue doe eyes and that tight body, his could anyone NOT think he's hot? Now his sister, on the other hand...
Who has read Jonathan Kellerman's series of Alex Delaware mystery novels? I've always pictured Alex looking somewhat like Jake, even before I ever heard of Jake Gyllenhaal. Fox is planning a TV series called [italic]Alex Delaware[/italic] for next year, and I think it would be a hoot for Jake to play Alex. TV is where I saw Jake for the first time, in an episode of Homicide his father directed.
I wonder how Heath would look now if he were still alive
Average=attractive white guy. It's kind of sad how some of you are going into a frenzy over him: shows you how broken the gay (well, mainstream Hollywood) ideals of beauty are.
Meant to say "Average-attractive" but what I have on there works too... sigh.
Why don't you post YOUR idea of beauty...we're curious.
And I'm not being bratty.
I wouldn't say HOT. But cute? Definitely. And often cute gets to me more than hot anyway.
And R21 has a point. How can Jake be so adorably cute and Maggie, to put it kindly, not? Same with Jason and Justine Bateman albeit to a lesser degree.
He is skinny because his new role required it. It's for nighcrawler.
I love sensitive, good boys.
Oh yeah he's hot.
Long answer, hot with an if. Short answer, no with a but.
Jake definitely veers into "hot" territory quite often.
Here's the deal...I am not a fan of Jake. I don't think he's particularly distinguished as an actor, his personality in interviews is rather generic and insipid and to me he has no magnetism or "star quality". He's just an adequate actor who had connections in the business and got some good breaks.
However, I DO think he has a distinctive and memorable "look" that sets him apart from some of the more conventionally handsome men in Hollywood and I think it has held him in good stead.
If I saw him at a bar I would DEFINITELY be MORE sexually attracted to him than a more classically attractive man like say,Matt Bomer. Not all guys like the mathematically "perfect" or "ideal" look and find it predictable and uninspiring. To me it is Jake's quirky imperfections and uniqueness in combination with his more traditionally "handsome" features that make him so desirable.
R29, I like strong bone structure, darker hair, striking features. I would say Henry Cavill is a HOT guy, a HANDSOME guy. Gyllenhaal looks like an average white male. Not deformed, not ugly, just averagely pleasant.
NPH, for instance, is downright ugly to me, although I'll concede that that is somewhat of an overreaction; He's just very average but people are nuts for him, don't know why.
I find beautiful people (by the aforementioned parameters) beautiful; unlike Hollywood that forces average guys down our throats, colouring them hot or sexy when they are clearly nothing more than average. (In that breath, I'll add beautiful POCs are conveniently ignored. Sad, but true!)
To truly see how ugly Jake is, rent End of Watch. With no hair, he looks like a random ugly guy you would find at Home Depot. He looked like an ugly Mr. Potato Head.
Why would a grown man still be shy?
Sometimes hot, sometimes not.
Jake better be careful or Austin will go breaking those wrists.
"Oh my God. I'm back. I'm home. All the time, it was... We finally really did it ... You Maniacs! You blew it up! Ah, damn you! God damn you all to hell!"
We are switching to the new platform for The DataLounge this weekend. All of our mobile users have been using it for over a week and all first time users have been using it for about a month - which adds up to well over one million users. So we're ready to end this phase of the testing and move everybody to the new site. (more)
And yes, we've changed the look and some of how it operates.
Yes, we know you just *hate* it in well in advance.
Yes, we know we suck.
Yes, we are the biggest suckers that ever sucked.
But it was time for a change and with the huge shift to mobile it was long overdue. We've taken this opportunity not only to update the look but also make major changes under the hood (or "bonnet" if you're either British or pretentious or both). And we have to prepare for 2016 - a presidential election year where we can normally expect to see a 60% jump in traffic (yes, we've seen 5 presidential elections so far…Christ we're old).
The site has a bunch - nay, plethora - of new features which will make the site more usable: better search, the ability to ignore posters and threads, see link previews, to pick up a thread where you left off, spam and malware filtering and more.
If you want you can go explore and see for yourself, Click here.
And while running the tests we've noticed two interesting reactions to the new system - people are spending more time on the site and more people that come stay around longer and look at more stuff. Both good things. Yay!
Possibly we've not slain all the dragons and there will be issues that come up during the switchover. There's a help button in the lower right hand corner of the page which you can use to send us bug reports.
Please include as much information about the hardware (PC, Mac, Tablet, Phone etc), operating system (Windows, Mac OS, Android, iOS etc) and browser (Chrome, Safari, Opera, Internet Explorer etc) that you are using as possible to help us replicate and fix the problem.
Please note that complaints about colors, fonts, icons and the like are not "bugs" - they are design choices that we've made and we expect one or two cases of world-class bitching. But they won't actually cause headaches, scurvy, heart attacks, Restless Leg Syndrome, Morgellon's Disease or the vapors (but have your smelling salts at hand just in case).
Talking to DataLounge servers. Please wait a moment...
