Anyone who signs on for an NBC sitcom is a glutton for punishment.
I hope it's not in HD.
Oh thank god, this looks like it could be even worse than mine.
She needs the work.
She's had too much work already.
I'm referring to the employment, R5.
She's turned into Joan Rivers...
Didn't Meg once say that she "doesn't do" television?
My, how times have changed.
never even nominated
I can smell the stench all the way down here...
Didn't know "The Joker Returns" was coming to TV
Her face had been cut to bits! Why is she returning to TV?
Somewhere Michael Parkinson is giggling.
I actually think a TV vehicle is a smart move for her...but this cliche premise for NBC? I can't see this lasting.
Dibs. This is my nominee for the first cancelled show of the 2014 season.
Seriously, r14. Haven't there already been about 100 sitcoms with this same premise? There have to be some writers in Hollywood with original ideas.
And Meg Ryan has hacked her face up so much she almost looks like someone else. We had an epic "Meg Ryan's Plastic Surgery" thread here awhile back and the comments were too funny.
Will it be called "The Meg Ryan Programme"?
Meg's face work is awful. One of the most awful face jobs I've ever seen on a (former) A-Lister. She's one of those who got the "Asian Special," where her eyes look completely different and - no offense - a bit slanted.
I remember seeing her on Oprah several years ago (I think she was promoting Proof of Life), and she was talking about her "beauty routine" and how she never wore makeup and could not even apply it. This was before all the facework (at that point, all I noticed was her inflated lip), and she seemed very genuine and not the least bit vain.
In retrospect, I was either terribly naive and Meg is a much better actor in real life than she is on film, or Meg was victimized by terrible advice/management and is rather simple.
Is she going to play some sort of half duck half woman creature? Because otherwise, I don't think the audience is going to buy it.
The articles mention that she has turned down many TV offers leading up to this.
If this concept is the winner, I'd hate to see what she said 'no' to.
She looks a lot better without excessive make-up. When she wears red lipstick and eye make-up it only highlights the plastic surgery.
Can she move the muscles in her face?
She looks wonderful, young, fresh, she'll be perfect in a show about a single mother struggling through everyday life with children, career and dating. A sure hit for NBC.
Meg looks phenomenal!
I did not like Heath Ledger in his role as "Joker".
Great premise. I'm turning it into a drama starring Allyson Janney.
Her face has been hacked to bits/Her newest movies have not been hits/We hope she does better/ Wearing "helpless female" big sweaters/And playing a single mom twit.
Maybe her face has loosened up and calmed down.
Why doesn't she go back to soaps?
Now this is one programme I definitely won't be watching in HD option.
I'm sure the vaseline smeared lens was stipulated in Ms Ryan's contract, R32.
I think this will be a hit
She was on As The World Turns and Charles In Charge.
even as a ten year old, I saw that her performance on CinC was heinous as all fuck. It was the first time I saw her in anything and I felt so mortified for her. I hate that she crashed films like Hurly Burly and Restoration - in each of them her "work" was the weakest link. In The Cut would have been amazing with someone else in her role.
