Not to mention, most child performers are supporting their parents and families, and their parents view them as cash cows to a greater or lesser degrees. If a pedo is in a position to help the child's career, the parents have a reason to look away that the average parent does not.

And there are rumors that the children's TV industry is rife with creeps and pedos, although most of the rumors seem to originate from highly dubious sources. Still, I'd say that child performers are probably at greater risk for predation than most kids, if only because their parents might not protect them under certain circumstances.

As a former child-performer, I was hit on by quite a few adults at work and none at home or at school. Anecdotal, obviously, but that was my experience and the experience of the kids I worked with in those days.

There are many child stars who have come forward to reveal this serious problem in Hollywood with child stars. However, yes usually it is a family member but these kids are alone with older adults in the industry constantly , but I would also look at family members. I was abused by a family friend and a family member and I never told until I was in my 40s that's when I revealed it and only did I reveal it to my sister , no one else.
