Sadly, the Red Staters I know were ecstatic when Sandra Bullock (undeservedly) won her Oscar for "The Blind Side."
That said, if Red Staters had their way:
Best Actor - Kirk Cameron, "Fireproof" (2008)
You mean the Nascars.
Blind Side would win best picture every other year, alternating with The Help.
The Red States love to think that white ladies have tamed the pesky problem of racism in this country. Now they're color blind and Christian. They don't see race. If you do, well, that's because you're the racist.
I suppose the opposite fantasy is that Blue State voters (e.g., people from Paramus, NJ) would pick Eric Rohmer films or other works of that ilk.
And the Oscar for Best Actor goes to.....LARRY THE CABLE GUY!
Host: Jeff Foxworthy
Kirk Cameron would be a perennial nominee for best actor and would win every few years for his Christian films.

They would start a thread claiming Sandra Bullock is definitely going to win Best Actress.
"Lone Survivor" for everything!
Yeah some of these are just exaggerating. The real difference is that it would just be commercial picks, goodbye arthouse films.
This year it would be Sandy for "Gravity" and Tom Hanks winning for "Captain Phillips". Best picture goes to "Gravity"
And yes "Lone Survivor" would get a ton of nominations.
Mel Gibson owns this thread.
First meeting of the nominating committee:
"OK, no blacks, no Jews, no queers. That should narrow it down."
Q. You've heard of the Oscar snub?
A. Dallas Buyers Club
Don't most Red Staters avoid movies because they're made by the commie homos out in Hollyweird?
Can they CGI John Wayne into presenting? After all, a strong male role model is just what people look for at moments like this.
