I was in TK Maxx today and they had two pairs of very comfortable Ralf Lauren suede loafers (see pic...hope it works) at a great price, in a style I like. So I bought both. Instantly comfortable. I'm wearing a pair now.
BUT, they are both in a very dreary pale beige. I think I'll keep one of them au natural and let time and wear darken them and dye the other pair. My BF's never heard of dyeing shoes, but my parents often did it back in the 70s, especially if the shoes were expensive and they hated the color.
Do people still dye shoes? How should I go about it?
Does OP pronounce Hermes as "Her-mees" which rhymes with herpes?
Or, does he explain the cold sores away as "erh-pez"?
I love "Ralf Lauren." It's like one of those wonderful misspellings that counterfeiters use on knock off products. Perhaps that's all too accurate in this case.
Love the whole composition of the photograph, actually; it's like a still from the film of "Boys in the Band."
When TJ Maxx opened in the UK, there was a retail chain called TJ Hughes, and the new arrival didn't want to risk confusion, or have people think it was the "maxx" version of TJH. So they changed it to TK Maxx.
I want to know about the red phone in the background.

It's a direct line to Daphne Zuniga, R20.
R16 Practically everyone misprounces Hermès, including many French due to their regional accents, by ending it with a Z sound.
In French, Hermès is pronounced much like the disease herpès. The accent grave on the final vowel obligates the pronunciation of the terminal consonant, the letter S.
Thus it would come out similar to air-mess, but less sibilent.
Perfect, R21. :)
OP didn't your European grandmother tell you its bad luck to place shoes on a table of any kind? Its nearly as bad as opening an umbrella in the house for christsake!
My Mutti was a cunt!
To answer OP:
No, Kyle, but I have had shoes to die for.
OP: I have some good news for you!
Your Diana Vreeland phone unapologetic shows an Oklahoma area code, so you can wear absolutely ANYTHING.
R17, your post is funny and your observations probably gayer than my pic.
