Happy 24th Birthday "Janet Jackson's Rhythm Nation 1814"

Janet Jackson's 4th studio album was released 24 years ago today. It would go on to become the biggest selling album of 1990, the first album to spawn 7 top 5 Hot 100 singles which included #1s in 3 separate calendar years, and it made Janet the artist with the most succuessful debut tour, a record she still holds. The album's topics of various societal ills such as bigotry, homelessness and violence against children are just as relevant today as they were when it was released, and the influence of its Broadway-esque, intricately-choreographed music videos still live in the works of the new crop of pop stars.
