Ryan Lochte Reality Series Canceled After One Season
Ryan Lochte Reality Series Canceled After One Season
10:10 AM PDT 9/19/2013 by Lesley Goldberg
The E! series featuring the Olympic swimmer ended its run in May and averaged 440,000 total viewers over its eight-episode run.
E! is no longer swimming alongside Olympian Ryan Lochte.
The cable network has opted to cancel unscripted entry What Would Ryan Lochte Do? after one low-rated season, sources confirm to The Hollywood Reporter.
As first reported by TV Line, the series that followed the Olympic swimmer training for the 2016 Games, his personal life and empire, ended its eight-episode run in May averaging just 440,000 total viewers. (Meanwhile, a source close to E! says the network does want to work with the athlete and personality again in the future.)
The series received a sizable marketing push for the gold medalist in April, but opened to a paltry 807,000 viewers, losing nearly half of its E! news special lead-in featuring Ryan Seacrest interviewing the Kardashian family.
Lochte fielded multiple reality show offers after sporting a diamond American-flag grill at the summer Olympics and ultimately landed the docuseries at E! after guest roles on 30 Rock and 90210.
Oh no. Say it isn't so. Jeee-ah. Guess Ryan will have to learn something new now! Is it possible? I mean, is he educable?
Reasons why nobody watched:
1. He's a drooling moron that can barely put a sentence together
2. Reality show fatigue - even the dolts that watch the Kardashians and trash like that are getting burned out. Cancel them next, please.
But, what is this cat's story? Gay or straight? Or, is he one of those straights who gets off because gay men find him so hot but will never have him? He has worked in fashion. The design and wearing of the pink speedos makes my heart palpitate... (just thinking of that image causes my breathing to become labored)
Is he another Bobby Cannavale?
[quote]But, what is this cat's story?
God, you're a tard.
"God, you're a tard."
Pot, kettle and all that.
On the plus side, the poor thing is so dumb he doesn't even remember having a TV show.
"The cable network has opted to cancel unscripted entry What Would Ryan Lochte Do?"
When they tried to script me with a lot of words, my mind got all lochte'd up.
Darn! And he's straight, too, like I am. And equally talented and well-spoken!
Two words---gay porn. And a third---PLEEEEEEASE!
Ryan Lochte makes Honey Boo look like a child prodigy.
What Would Ryan Lochte Do....if his show got canceled
Oh thank God.
[quote]Flat ass and stupid.
THANK you, R4. I don't know why people find him hot with that flat booty. It's horrible. Plus his haircuts are always bad.
I agree, R16. He has a handsome face but awful ass. Total turn off.
I know, right R17. I would think that a swimmer would have a nicer ass than that.
Is he smart enough to do pron?
I agree that he needs to do something like pose naked to get his name back in the news.
Somewhere, Michael Phelps is smiling (and probably getting high on weed).
Ryan Lochte has an "empire"?
if ure gonna be a man when u have a show then u got be a man wehn you dont have a show
Remember a few months ago he was on a show promoting his t.v. series and the co-hosts laughed after he left about how ridiculous it was?
he's an idiot and honestly that reality show was embarrassing for his brand anyway.
R25, I would also add that it shows how the reality show genre itself may have outlived its usefulness.
Nice boner though.
Ryan should have talked more about his sex life, or shown his naked ass like Johnny Weir did on his show. And revealed whether he is cut, etc.
I'm assuming he did none of that, so it probably was too bland and white bread.
I wonder if Ryan even grasps that his show has been canceled. Only 47 cards in that deck, and that may be generous.
I found him very likeable despite his dumbness. True he has a flat ass but he's still sexy and I'd do him if were into guys. The black hanger-on was hotter.
Tom Daley is much hotter than Ryan Lochte.
Frankly I'm shocked it wasn't canceled after the first episode
Has Lochte been reached for comment yet?
+1 on R33
But I have one friend who found him charming. Granted, we call her "Rose" to her face, so that tells you something.
Lochte is good-looking, but that's all he ever had going for him. He had absolutely no personality and was totally bland.
I never knew how unattractive it is to be dumb, until I saw an interview with Ryan.
Local Philly anchors lose it after Ryan Lochte interview
I imagine most of the other swimmers are only marginally less dim than Ryan! Glug glug glug!
Does he play with Michael Phelps?
He's too nice and thus very boring for tv. He swims, fucks chicks, preens etc. Big deal. They should've have followed around his loose-cannon sister who made the "Asian" comments.
Of course, these idiotic shows will be canceled quickly. Even for E! Lochte is ridiculous.
Now, why the hell are the famewhore Kardashians still on the air? It's a rhetorical question. No need to respond. I understand America is the land of dumb and dumber television viewers.
I watched Kradushins alls the time while we eats moms spaghetti wif ketchup.
Uuuhm, does this mean, like there won't be any cameras and stuff any more? Or will they still be there, but they just won't turn them on?
"Oh my God. I'm back. I'm home. All the time, it was... We finally really did it ... You Maniacs! You blew it up! Ah, damn you! God damn you all to hell!"
We are switching to the new platform for The DataLounge this weekend. All of our mobile users have been using it for over a week and all first time users have been using it for about a month - which adds up to well over one million users. So we're ready to end this phase of the testing and move everybody to the new site. (more)
And yes, we've changed the look and some of how it operates.
Yes, we know you just *hate* it in well in advance.
Yes, we know we suck.
Yes, we are the biggest suckers that ever sucked.
But it was time for a change and with the huge shift to mobile it was long overdue. We've taken this opportunity not only to update the look but also make major changes under the hood (or "bonnet" if you're either British or pretentious or both). And we have to prepare for 2016 - a presidential election year where we can normally expect to see a 60% jump in traffic (yes, we've seen 5 presidential elections so far…Christ we're old).
The site has a bunch - nay, plethora - of new features which will make the site more usable: better search, the ability to ignore posters and threads, see link previews, to pick up a thread where you left off, spam and malware filtering and more.
If you want you can go explore and see for yourself, Click here.
And while running the tests we've noticed two interesting reactions to the new system - people are spending more time on the site and more people that come stay around longer and look at more stuff. Both good things. Yay!
Possibly we've not slain all the dragons and there will be issues that come up during the switchover. There's a help button in the lower right hand corner of the page which you can use to send us bug reports.
Please include as much information about the hardware (PC, Mac, Tablet, Phone etc), operating system (Windows, Mac OS, Android, iOS etc) and browser (Chrome, Safari, Opera, Internet Explorer etc) that you are using as possible to help us replicate and fix the problem.
Please note that complaints about colors, fonts, icons and the like are not "bugs" - they are design choices that we've made and we expect one or two cases of world-class bitching. But they won't actually cause headaches, scurvy, heart attacks, Restless Leg Syndrome, Morgellon's Disease or the vapors (but have your smelling salts at hand just in case).
Talking to DataLounge servers. Please wait a moment...
