This poor woman is a mess! The too tight dresses, the wild hair in her face and bouncing all over the place like a giant drag queen wig... She tries to cross her legs when the cameras come in but they're tree trunks, and her dresses so tight, so short, it looking like they're about to blow apart like to giant hams loaded with TNT.
I like her, but can't a friend tell her that her clothes are too tight?
Those skin tight wrap dresses just aren't her friend.
I liked her when she anchored the local morning news show here in L.A. Now that she's gone, the morning show is a fucking mess. I hate everyone on it and I can't stand to watch it. The leftover anchors/sports /weather/entertainment people are self-involved clowns or worse completely bland.
It's funny how big a difference one person can make.
R5, I'm with you, and I hate Sam Rubin. He's a vile pig.
She looks like a cow.
She's actually pretty, though overweight and not well styled.
Fat and ethnic...I take it she was the diversity hire.
They aren't all blonde and skinny.
Yeah, because only whites reside in Amurrica.
The DL Klan
For the record, I would've been more impressed if she were co-anchor with Chris Cuomo, rather than a third wheel. It was lazy and disappointing for CNN to go with Kate Bolduan and relegate Michaela to the diversity hire role.
Does she wear the snuggies on-air?
She could pass for a lesbian.
She looks like a giantess. They ought to put her next to people who are her size.
I have some perfectly lovely pant suits I can donate.
I love the name Michaala.
Your racism was pretty clear at r11, so no need to clarify r14.
Why is it when a person of color is hired - it's called a "diversity hire"?
I'm we with R1. I met her in L.A and she's a sweetheart. She has gained weight from when she first came to KTLA but she's fantastic at her job and still beautiful.
When did she gain the weight?
[quote]When did she gain the weight?
It seemed to occur after the eating.
Given the nature of her weight gain and where it's located on her body, I'm guessing that some sort of hormonal issues are wreaking havoc with her metabolism.
That could be R25
I like her a lot too. I thought she would lose some weight with move to NY and all the walking but apparently not.
I appreciate that she's a "regular" person.. I like her looks...Just my type... When she's absent, I tend to not watch...
Most of these post are clownish at best posted by internet warriors there is nothing wrong with her just the fools being buffoons!
OP, examine yourself and see why you are filled with such vapid and mean spirited venom?
OP, get some morals and values do you don't say stupid stuff like this. She is a very nice and beautiful lady.
We're just not used to seeing plus-size women chatting it up on the news.
This woman is STILL wearing those too, TOO tight wrap dresses.
Is this a Canadian thing? She's also going on and on about "Team Canada" at the Olympics, which I totally get if she's Canadian, but very strange to keep rooting for competition when you're anchoring an American show. I can't imagine an American journalist doing that on Canadian television.
She's huge now R35. Her legs are the size of small trees and she keeps them so awkwardly crossed on CNN that I'm in fear they're going to snap open one day, flinging the set desk into a crowd of cameramen, decapitating them instantly.
Fine by me that she's "full figured", but can't she get a clue about the uber tight clothing and hemlines up to her cooze?
It's not clear what size she was in the clip from R35.
Verging on morbidly obese, and that widow's peak ... ugh.
Gone are the days when correct enunciation by tv anchors are a given. Michaela Pereira!!! LEARN THE DIFFERENCE between 'picture' and 'pitcher'!
She's takes no pride in her appearance, why would she pay attention to her speech?
CNN has gone to the dogs.
Nearly eight years after leaving CNN, the network that made her famous, Ms. Battista has resurfaced in the news game as an anchor for Onion News Network, the online video arm of The Onion, the satirical newspaper.
The topics Ms. Battista has tackled in her Onion spots are Despondex, a drug for those who are too happy — “a huge step forward in the battle against exuberance,” she deadpans into the camera; Franz Kafka International Airport ranking last in customer satisfaction (the average delay is 31 hours longer than the next worse airport); and the discovery of the fossilized remains of the sexually predatory dinosaur (“a pervatasaurus”).
“Odd jobs always seem to find me,” Ms. Battista said in a telephone interview from Atlanta, where she lives and where she hosted “Talk Back Live,” the CNN viewer-participation program.
There's nothing wrong with being heavy except that it's not healthy. But if a person is heavy & in the public eye, clothing appropriate to body size should be worn. She makes enough money to have her clothes custom made. She's beautiful & smart, but those dresses she wears are way too tight. Someone please help her with her wardrobe & hair. We'll all breathe a lot easier.
