Am I the only one who's now having trouble getting the comments to load now that Google has gone ahead and FUCKED them up too?
I don't fuck YouTube, I just watch it.
The search function on Youtube is the worst.
I will not register on YouTube.
Google is bad to data mine you.
You can't leave a comment or do other things unless you're registered, and I'd rather not be, so I do without these features.
I think r3 is my mother.
Your mother is a wise woman, r4.
why the fuck would you want to comment on Youtube?
Youtube is the trolls paradise. The lowest possible denominator of human scum.
Ugh, was just on and they're almost forcing you to use your real name on there. Fuck that shit.
Yes. Yes, you are.
[quote]why the fuck would you want to comment on Youtube?
I was actually wanting to READ the comments after watching a documentary on there. But nooooo, too much to ask from Google! Instead all I get is a spinning fucking wheel.
[quote]they're almost forcing you to use your real name on there
And that's another thing! How many FUCKING times to I have to be interrupted IN THE MIDDLE OF WATCHING A VIDEO to tell them 'NO'--I do not want to use my real fucking name!!! Once should be enough, shouldn't it!? Yet it continues to happen! And the way they word it is meant to confuse you into clicking on the wrong option (allowing them to use your real name). My God, I fucking hate Google.
There are a lot of really stupid people in this thread.
So... just give them a fake made up name and they'll keep quiet.
I had such an annoying typo username, I was glad to loose it.
Are there ANY tricks to unlinking Google+ from a YT account? I want to delete my G+ page, but it won't let me because it's hooked to my YT.
Just out of curiosity I clicked on that Picasa picture site linked to Google+ and it had uploaded pictures from my emails and I've never been on that site before! I tried to delete my account there and it won't let you.
They're trying to kill off the communicative aspect of Youtube. It's not worth it to comment. I don't log in any more. They are too shady.
That's nice for you r16, but some of us cannot just "not login".
Well, as long as I can still watch Henri videos, I'm happy.

You don't have to have been on that site before. It's part of Google, so all your Gmail photo activity shows up there.
Can't people just open fake gmail accounts and use those to log into YouTube?
That has nothing to do with my problem r20.
Oh fuck, I'll miss trolling those religious nuts!
R19 is there anyway to stop Google from doing that? Some of those photos were of porn stars and they put them into a public folder, one of the photos had already been flagged as inappropriate.(No shit!)
I hate how you have to log in to watch any video that has been deemed "inappropriate for the children," like a video for a song that has the word "shit" in it.
I really would stay away from Google. They keep moving the lines on the playing field. They are sinister and immoral.
Oh, and can they have more fucking commercials too?
Ever since Google took it over, YouTube has been complete shit. And don't even get me started on the settings - the layout is so fucked up and all over the place it's hard to even find your personal settings and options.
I agree. I deleted my facebook account and don't miss it one bit. Next is going to be youtube. I just need to make sure I delete every trace of my account first. Welcome to a world where the word *privacy* will soon be deleted from the dictionary. People in the future will be born stripped of any and all rights, so there will be no need for the word.
I heard from a psychiatric nurse, that there's a large percentage of patients in psychiatric hospitals who are religious fanatics. That says it all for me...
"Youtube is the trolls paradise. The lowest possible denominator of human scum."
Are you saying they finally closed down Free Republic?
[quote]Oh, and can they have more fucking commercials too?
Yeah! I don't mind watching the occasional commercial - they have to cover their costs somehow - but they often have, for example, a four-minute commercial for a two-minute video. Even commercial TV isn't that obnoxious.
[quote]"Youtube is the trolls paradise. The lowest possible denominator of human scum."
You obviously haven't read TMZ's website.
I absolutely hate everything they've done to Youtube. Every change just makes it worse than before. Unfortunately the competitor sites like Vimeo haven't really taken off, so if I'm looking for something, Youtube is usually the only place I can find it. Maybe this Google Plus shit will be the nail in the coffin and people will migrate en masse to some other site.
Vimeo is pretty much creator only - you can't post TV stuff, etc.
The changes are deliberate I am sure, to further the police state and wipe out alternative viewpoints. It's just gasbags who act like clowns for clicks now.
R20, that would be only a partial solution. At least your account info wouldn't be open linked, but google links email accounts by login location, cookies and other fun data. They are developing a way to track people without using cookies. Despite their company logo, they are evil.
Has anyone figured out how to load comments on an ipad? I don't want to leave a comment -- I don't have an account -- but I want to read them. Like someone further up thread, I watched a documentary and wanted to read the comments.
"Youtube not available" is what I have been getting, all the time, for the past four days. :-(
Anything we can do?
I used to like commenting on YouTube but Google is demanding that you use your Google Plus account or whatever, to cut down on trolls, racists and other nasty commenters. I never did any of that stuff and just wanted to comment here and there on songs and videos but I don't want everything tied to my Google ID. I liked just having my YouTube account ID only.
Jesus christ, for a free service you people sure do complain about it a lot, especially the data-mining aspect. That's precisely how you pay for something "free".
I created a fake name for my fake Google+ account (which I will NEVER use) and it's still a fucking clusterfuck. I haven't a clue what a "Google account" is, nor do I want one. They've apparently also moved my YouTube inbox to Google+ now. WHY? Why the fuck would I want to get my YouTube comments there? They are SO fucking desperate to get people onto that site, aren't they? So sad.
Google is only trying to inflate the number of subscribers to Google+ since it's a total failure, like many of their other services.
r41, if they keep buying up companies with a strong base they can hide their failures for a long time.
"Oh my God. I'm back. I'm home. All the time, it was... We finally really did it ... You Maniacs! You blew it up! Ah, damn you! God damn you all to hell!"
We are switching to the new platform for The DataLounge this weekend. All of our mobile users have been using it for over a week and all first time users have been using it for about a month - which adds up to well over one million users. So we're ready to end this phase of the testing and move everybody to the new site. (more)
And yes, we've changed the look and some of how it operates.
Yes, we know you just *hate* it in well in advance.
Yes, we know we suck.
Yes, we are the biggest suckers that ever sucked.
But it was time for a change and with the huge shift to mobile it was long overdue. We've taken this opportunity not only to update the look but also make major changes under the hood (or "bonnet" if you're either British or pretentious or both). And we have to prepare for 2016 - a presidential election year where we can normally expect to see a 60% jump in traffic (yes, we've seen 5 presidential elections so far…Christ we're old).
The site has a bunch - nay, plethora - of new features which will make the site more usable: better search, the ability to ignore posters and threads, see link previews, to pick up a thread where you left off, spam and malware filtering and more.
If you want you can go explore and see for yourself, Click here.
And while running the tests we've noticed two interesting reactions to the new system - people are spending more time on the site and more people that come stay around longer and look at more stuff. Both good things. Yay!
Possibly we've not slain all the dragons and there will be issues that come up during the switchover. There's a help button in the lower right hand corner of the page which you can use to send us bug reports.
Please include as much information about the hardware (PC, Mac, Tablet, Phone etc), operating system (Windows, Mac OS, Android, iOS etc) and browser (Chrome, Safari, Opera, Internet Explorer etc) that you are using as possible to help us replicate and fix the problem.
Please note that complaints about colors, fonts, icons and the like are not "bugs" - they are design choices that we've made and we expect one or two cases of world-class bitching. But they won't actually cause headaches, scurvy, heart attacks, Restless Leg Syndrome, Morgellon's Disease or the vapors (but have your smelling salts at hand just in case).
Talking to DataLounge servers. Please wait a moment...
