Hard to believe she's been gone almost 40 years . Love her music in "Beautiful Thing"
How old would the ham sandwich that killed her would have been?
She died of a heart attack - please no more ham sandwich jokes. She was exhausted, and overweight.
No, she wouldn't have been 72, OP. She died. She went when she was suppose to.
HAD she lived, she would be 72 - what's so hard to get about that, you anal douche ?
Her harmony parts in the best of The Mamas & the Papas songs are exquisite...and her leads on songs like "Words of Love" and "Dream a Little Dream of Me" were beautiful.
"Make Your Own Kind of Music" was a great solo effort.
Cass had a great talent.
Like John Phillips once remarked, "What a voice."
One of the most perfect voices ever.
Listen to her sing "Young Girl's Lament" and tell me you don't want this to be played at your funeral.
Remember Monterrey Pop - isn't Janis Joplin groooooovy!
Was she that great big fat girl?
Oh R8 get a life!
She was great and would have been one of the greats of entertainment.
I remember her from when I was a little kid.
I remember seeing her in the Mamas and the Papas and then when they broke up, seeing her on the variety shows alone trying out her solo career.
She was great! and she had a nice personality - genuine.
She died much too young and had she lived would have gone onto further greatness.
Every hit was a great high camp masterpiece. I don't know how the years would've treated her though, look at Spanky McFarlane, similar, gorgeous voice but completely forgotten.
Wow, I had NO IDEA she was that young when she died. I thought she was in her 50's when she died. I actually had to go look all of this up.
She died in 1974.
[quote]HAD she lived, she would be 72
She didn't, so this idea of how old she would be is dumb.
It puts the ham sandwich down or it gets the hose.
