I'm a dull, narcissistic, talentless Canadian asshole who grew up feeling entitled because I lived with my dull, narcissistic, talentless Canadian asshole father and his slag of a wife.
I'm buying bling bling with Mom and Dad's royalties from the 1980s sitcom themes they wrote. That shows I get black people.
this is has given me the biggest laugh all month...
i think wifey's pussy has lost its grip now that she has spawned, i will go a grind on some talentless 20 year old hick while having my 15 minutes of fame and hope the cum stains don't show through my stripey trousers
Robin Thicke isn't the first (nor will he be the last) white dude to build a lucrative career on appropriating black culture.
The funny is thing is that he's one of the few to have earned the respect of black listeners (that is, until he filed that preemptive lawsuit against Marvin Gaye's family over "Blurred Lines," which I think has turned a lot of black people off). But "Lost Without U" and "Sex Therapy" were huge hits on R&B radio, while white pop audiences ignored them.
I'm the big black sunglasses, I hide his embarrassment at not being dance.
The big booty sister's out there love me more than Justin Timberlake.
I'm Robin Thicke and I should be wearing Spanx.
I love to steal music from dead R&B legends but I don't like paying the family royalties.
Miley the Tongue stuck that hand up my ass backstage. She wanted to rim me with that tongue of hers but I still have some pride left. Not much but just enough to tell her to rim Vadge's Doppelganger, Lady Gaga, instead.
Before I changed my image to be down with the brother's in da hood, I use to look like Jesus Christ Super Star.
[quote]I love to steal music from dead R&B legends but I don't like paying the family royalties.
Royalties are paid on individual songs NOT musical genres. Or are you suggesting he sampled other artists, which, in case you didn't know, is the entire fucking basis of rap music.
Consider yourself schooled.
Are we supposed to have music segregation now? In 2013?
R25 is so knowledgable. Someone should start an appreciation thread about her.
Robin Thicke appears on the BET Music Awards show every year. He's the only white performer there.
It's obvious at the BET Music Awards shows that black people love him. He's been popular with black people for a decade.
Robin Thicke also heavily records and produces with other black artists. Did you not notice the three black singing artists on his Blurred Lines single?
None of you in this thread have any idea what you are talking about.
I'm the snappy dancing!
OK, Robin Thicke's new video Give it 2 U at :54 seconds in has his 3 year old son Julian Fuego dancing in the video.
He's just a family man.
My wife's ph-- stylist told me stripes are slimming. Then he put her in a dress that made her look like Big Black Bird.
Robin, you stole my suit!
What's "Spanx", precious? What's "Spanx"?
What a bunch of fuckin' racists, only black people can sing R&B, WRONG...Listen to Sheena Easton a Scott on "The Lover In Me," "Do You," "What Comes Naturally."
Well only blacks can sing jazz. WRONG...Look at Jo Stafford.
Well Blacks invented rap in the 70s... WRONG rap was based on a vaudeville routine called a patter. Frank Sinatra, even Burns and Allen did raps, though in Gracie's case it was comedy...(Who need's good five cent cigars...We need wider Pullman cars.)
I bet you think all Jews are rich and all Arabs have magical genie lamps...
Fuckin AIDS infested queers.
If you're tired of constant PrimeTime, having to pay to post, threads getting deleted for no reason, and whimsical banning, click below.
Our WM isn't a stupid nazi cow, and we might one day have again what DL used to be.
He looked like the Hamburgler boffing Miley Cyrus.
But it's blatant to any person of any color, R36.
I'm Robin Thicke and I think there is a manual to understanding black people. I know how to talk, act and dress because I am so down. I have only 3 white friends but about 20 black friends. I understand black people because they all behave according to stereotypes.
I just can't stand white women talking and acting black. Just watch daytime TV. It sickens me they want to appear ignorant, that they embrace it. And they are crude, foul-mouthed while doing so, making themselves repulsive to mainstream society. Why must they act like those whom they choose to fuck and breed with? Miley Cyrus stealing twerking from urban, ethnic culture that is NOT hers.
Is this a form of internalized racism with whites who act this way? An internal contempt?
I grew up in hollywood but I'm down.
I know Freepers infiltrate and post but some of these posts and threads...they can't all be from the right. I guess being a marginalized group makes it okay to let your hoods show every once in a while?
Let's cop on Darius Rucker for ripping off white trash culture with his successful country career. How dare he sing anything other than "black" music without first giving an oration of his unworthiness and apreciation for "white" music"!
DL has become the domain of criminally ignorant logic, especially when it comes to race and homophobia.
I think I look hot shirtless despite having moobs, thin but flabby arms and a jiggly belly.
I am not the first white boy to sing R&B. My predecessors include Bobby Caldwell, Wayne Cochran, Hall & Oates, George Michael, The Rascals and The Soul Survivors ("Expressway to Your Heart").
Maybe all these chains I bought at Madonna's garage sale will distract people from my tiny nipples.
This thread is going off the rails. I think I should close it.
From purely anecdotal experience black people seem to like Robin Thicke. He's been around for at least a decade and the urban stations have always played his music while he's been ignored in the more traditionally white stations. Lots of black women have said how much they like him. He has no problems getting black rappers to work with him. In his latest video he's got a couple of them plus a video of mainly black women in skimpy costumes.
I don't think he goes out of his way to act 'black' or appropriate black culture. He just sings in a falsetto that seems to work better for R&B music.
If you went back to 1991 one and told people that one day, Alan Thicke's son would be incredibly popular in the African-American community, what would people think?
I'm 36 and try very hard to act like a 25 year old "pimp" with "swag".
I've been listening to Timberlake lately, and one thing Robin Thicke definitely has is a better voice. Timberlake's voice is whiny and shrill in comparison.
I agree that this idea of faulting someone for "appropriating from black culture" is silly. Can we then fault Leontyne Price and Jessye Norman for appropriating from white culture, since opera has historically been a white institution?
I'm either the Beetleguese rip off suit...
Or the STD so virulent that Miley give it to Robin through their clothes...
I can't decide.
He looks a bit like Stephen Amell in that pic, R13.
LBH, black women LIKE anyone that has dated black people, or adopted black children. Many BW want the swirl, bad. RT is married to a BW so he gets tons of BW who will BUY his shit, listen to his pathetic music, and defend him online, endlessly.
The same applies to Angelina - adopted a black child, gets endless amounts of BW love.
Michael Fassbender - same thing. Endless BW love.
Naomi Campbell's ex - same thing.
IMHO, it's sad. Really sad. Like desperate to be loved by the white man thing. Just SMDH about it.
I've had a partner for 31 years!!
This thread has more mysterious acronyms than a soap thread.
I'm a complete and utter embarrassment.
[quote] IMHO, it's sad. Really sad. Like desperate to be loved by the white man thing. Just SMDH about it.
Bitterness will eat you up.
Shut up, r48.
I will be a 1 hit wonder on the mainstream.
Both your comments are useless R63 so consider shutting yourself up.
It's funny to hear someone complain about black women wanting the 'swirl' when it's the black man I see indulging in this practice more and failing spectacularly at it. Exhibit A: Lamar Odom descending into drug madness after his marriage to trashy Kardashian
His wife is biracial anyway, so what difference does it make.
interesting comment r65 about BM & and the Swirl.
It seems to me that the Kartrashians exist to take BM's money away. Kim & Khloe both will be taking the money with them.
You boys sound childish. Really, this is the thread of juveniles.
No, I'm not a frau or Robin fan before the 16 year olds come up with the clever "R21=Robin Thicke's PR" baloney.
Over here in Europe, the American obsession with race (Af-Am racial ancestry in particular) comes across as nothing short of insane.
Is this the same Europe that didn't want to sell Oprah a purse R69? Or is it in France where they've had huge anti muslim attacks. Or maybe the tensions in the Netherlands between the white population and the Moroccans. How about the Muslims who get harassed in Sweden?
I think you need to take your snooty European nose out of the air about America's obsession with race R69 . When Europe has been faced with an increasing immigrant population of different ethnicities, they've responded with the same pettiness and racism & sometimes at a greater level even than in America.
R69, and euro racism seems to us nothing short of national socialism, and that goes for EVERY country in Europe! That the US even addresses the issue is Way more mature that the snotty euros who simply pretend that it doesn't affect them and that "those people don't think like us, that's all"
R69 has to be a white person, only a white person would believe europe is not racist.

Are you upset because black women love Robin Thick and he LOVES them back? Are you asking yourself why not you?
The bigger question is why do white gay men fawn over black women like they are an exotic piece of furniture? Even mimicking the way they talk and act.
Exhibit A: The way Anderson Cooper was drooling over Antoinette Tuff. Completely inappropriate and embarrassing. I'm sure she couldn't wait to get away from his weirdo ass.
He's not great or anything, but I'm surprised he's so hated (at least via this thread) He seems like someone to ignore rather than hate.
Or is it simply that he's, at least temporarily, mega popular and there's the natural "I hate what's popular" backlash.
r74 although that was snarkily addressed to me, you also bring up a great question.
I think white gay men exoticize BW, like the (excuse my language here) "wiggahs" like Robin Thicke/Justin Timberlake & others like Robert DeNiro and many other white billionaires that are currently having affairs with/marrying BW.
I think it's fine but....people are definitely exoticizing the "other" to be transgressive or whathaveyou.
I am just observing the phenomena, I don't mean to sound judgemental.
For the love of god, will someone get this coked out white girl away from my penis? Anyone?
"I think white gay men exoticize BW, like the (excuse my language here) "wiggahs" like Robin Thicke/Justin Timberlake & others like Robert DeNiro and many other white billionaires that are currently having affairs with/marrying BW."
Or maybe they just fell in love with someone who just happened to be a "BW", [R76]...
Justin Timberlake is not with a black woman.
He is married to Jessica Beal who is white.
And he never dated a black woman - at least not publicly.
"I am just observing the phenomena, I don't mean to sound judgemental."
It's not a phenomena. White men have been exoticizing black women for centuries. Read your history books.
I let a 20 year old grind on me on TV, then stayed silent when SHE was slut-shamed and I got a pass.
Justin's PR queen is a "BW" and he's been totally dependent on her for like 10 years. If we're playing a reductionist numbers game, that's a way more valuable piece of his heart than he ever gave to any of his knock-kneed whitegirl beards.
"I'm everything Teena Marie wasn't!"
Everytime someone dates someone of a different race they're automatically accused of exoticism. A prime example is of course anyone who dates Asians. But sometimes people just fall in love or have a certain type.
Robin Thicke met his wife when they were 14. I doubt exoticism was involved.
R76, are saying that Deniro, Thicke and Timberlame are gay closeted men fixated on black women? What are you talking about? Besides, Justin never cared for bw.
R70: that would be the same Europe where Oprah had a hissy fit and made a fool of herself over nothing, yes. No-one refused to sell her anything.
R71: "euro racism seems to us nothing short of national socialism" what the fuck do you even mean by that? Moron.
R72: R69 didn't say racism doesn't exist, just that the US obsession about race is incomprehensible to people from other countries - and they're right. The rest of the world doesn't have the US history with race, Europe never had Jim Crow laws and even in WW2 American servicemen were issued with pamphlets explaining to them that in the UK it was expected that black and white would be invited to the same events and they shouldn't be shocked by that. The US has a very different experience with race and you shouldn't expect that others see everything the same, it's just not that important elsewhere.
Now go on, tell me I'm white and I don't understand, I've heard that bullshit here before as well. Mixed race actually, and working in the UK at the moment but have worked all over Europe. They just don't see things the same as the US and that's not a bad thing. No-one has expectations of my behavior based on my color, just my resume.
[quote]I strut and appropriate black culture!
Successfully though. Not since Teena Marie has a white artist been so accepted by blacks. 11 weeks at #1 on the r&b chart for Lost Without U, 12 weeks for Blurred Lines. Very few white artists get to #1 on the r&b chart anyway.
R86: Europe has its own history of racism that puts the US to shame. And they started the slave trade.
Alan Thicke has bdf. You just know Gloria Loring married him for his Canadian bacon. And she divorced him because he couldn't keep it in his pants.
How is the R&B chart compiled? I always assumed it was a sub-chart of the Pop chart, but I've seen songs listed as charting higher on the pop chart than they did on the R&B chart...
Billboard has changed around the R&B charts. That's why Macklemore's "Thrift Shop" went to #1 so fast on there. Many observers feel that the R&B airplay charts are the more accurate one, since radio stations are playing what people want to hear.
R87 I hate to bring her up, but early in her career Madonna had huge success on the R&B singles charts and her first 3 albums were all high charters on the black/R&B albums charts
According to Billboard she's the second most successful white female artist on the R&B charts behind Teena Marie
"Like a Virgin" and "Material Girl" are considered rhythm-and-blues music?? WTF??
I'm a white gay man and I'VE always thought that black women were very attractive, I've always been surprised that more straight white men never dates black women
If I was straight, I would definitely go for black women
They also age really well, the whole "black don't crack" quote is the truth
Plus most white women think their God's gift to the male sex, get over yourselves
[quote] I've always been surprised that more straight white men never dates black women
A lot of black women won't date non-black guys.
R93 actually Like a Virgin went to #9 on the R&B black singles chart in 1985
Strange I know
True, R92. She's even above Lisa Stansfield, Robyn and Pink, who started out with a lot of success on urban charts. But back in the 80's, there were hardly any rhythmic radio stations. This is why this millenium's acts like Britney, Xtina, Justin Bieber etc. end up on these kind of stations, rather than the soul ones they would have placed on thirty years ago.
For example, from 1984-87, it was possible to hear "rock" acts with danceable songs like Van Halen, INXS, peter Gabriel, Phil Collins, Sting and yes Madge on them.
He's hideous: soft, untalented, arrogant and fugly.
I heard they have a open marriage
I saw his mom, Gloria Loring, in a tour of ANYTHING GOES. I think. Or was I drunk?
r99 my thoughts exactly, which is why his BW has been going out seen drunk as a skunk - according to MTO, with PIX!
where oh where did it become regular to write "BW" in place of black woman?
This thread is uncomfortably racial in its view of the world. (I won't say racist b/c that's a loaded term & I don't mean to evoke all that implies to some people.)
But separate music charts for blacks and whites?!? Or would that be blacks and everyone else? Not the way nature intended it.
Speaking of MTO, they have pix of Robin Thicke with a Becky (for non-MTO people here & WP - white people, that means a white woman or WW).
MTO says she's a billionaire and he's divorcing Paula to marry her & she is PRETTY.
Aside: what happens to his fans in the black comm? Specifically BW with this new state of affairs?
She looks like a regular woman in her mid 30's R105 and probably better than most. 95% of women get cellulite at some point, especially women who've had kids.
R88 Europe started the slave trade? You're really that uneducated? I guess the pyramids were all built by day laborers then.
You need to open a book now and then, maybe one with a better text-to-pictures ration than you're used to.
The main thing about Europe is that most of the black citizens there try to assimilate into the white European culture. In the US, while you do have assimilation or in some cases even mixing of cultures, there is a lot more ethnic/racial cultural separation. A lot of black Americans feel black Europeans "act white". In Europe, it's mostly the Muslim immigrants who separate themselves culturally. White Europeans wouldn't feel as uncomfortable around black Europeans who they can see are assimilating into their culture. When they see black Africans doing their own thing, yes there is a lot of racism there, trust me. If white Europeans ran into a group of non-assimilated black Americans, they would likely feel uncomfortable. I know because I've seen it happen.
PS I'm not for or against assimilation. I think everyone should do what they want. The thing that gets me about "there's no racism or there's less in Europe" is that it's not true. Black people are expected to not have their own culture there.
Teena Marie is white?!?!?!?!
I've got a fat gut...hey hey hey.
Anyone who has ever watched a football/soccer match knows that's there's a large amount of racism in Europe. You'd have to have your head in the sand to not acknowledge it. Just check out this random article on it.
"The most important sporting event in Eastern Europe since the fall of the Berlin Wall begins June 8 with the European soccer championships hosted by Poland and Ukraine.
But a complicated racial issue has arisen as the families of two of England’s black players have said they will probably not attend the 16-team tournament, fearing abuse or violence in Ukraine, where the team will play its first three matches. A BBC documentary depicting racism at soccer games there has further inflamed emotions.
At the same time, one of England’s top players, defender John Terry, faces a criminal charge after the tournament of racially abusing a black opponent during a club match last October in the English Premier League. The charge led to Terry’s being stripped of his captaincy of the English national team.
Although racism in soccer has been a continuing problem in England, Italy and Spain, it has by degree seemed to be more virulent at matches in Eastern Europe, with some fans making monkey chants and throwing bananas at black players, while others have given Nazi salutes and chanted, “Sieg heil.”
In 2011, the Bulgarian soccer federation was fined after fans made monkey chants toward the English players Theo Walcott, Ashley Young and Ashley Cole during a European qualifying match in Sofia. Also last year, the Brazilian legend Roberto Carlos walked off the field when a banana was thrown toward him at a league match in Russia.
The British government and the chairman of the English soccer association have expressed concerns about the possibility of racial abuse of players and fans in both host nations, particularly Ukraine. Few families of the English players are planning to attend the tournament, called Euro 2012, a spokesman for the soccer association said.
Ashley Walcott, the brother of the English wing Theo Walcott, said recently on Twitter that the family was avoiding Euro 2012 “because of the fear of possible racist attacks/confrontation.”
A third of England’s team is black. Mark Chamberlain, a former player and the father of the teenage forward Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, has said he will skip the group matches in Ukraine but may attend the tournament’s later stages. The final will be played in Kiev on July 1.
“It’s a major concern,” Chamberlain said in a British television interview. “I think your safety is more important than a game of football. It’s just prudent to keep myself away from it.”
So please stop with the superior attitude about Europe. At least none of the black athletes would be living in fear of playing anywhere in America.
And any region that's responsible for the Holocaust does not get to look down their nose at America about intolerance.
R111 You seem to have missed the point. No-one was saying there is no racism in Europe, the point was that the rest of the world doesn't have the same obsession / history with racism that the US does. To deny that racism is not only integral to the US but was *enshrined in law* is ridiculous. Your argument is specious at best.
Get over your anti-Europe inferiority complex, the rest of the world does not have the same history as the US. It's just a fact, not an opinion.
You're missing the point R112 America has to deal with racism more because there's a significant African American population here. It's very easy not to be obsessed about racism of black people if you don't have a large population to deal. That's how you get away with saying how you're not obsessed.
But the lie comes into play because the moment a significantly different ethnicity enter your population, you have a huge obsession and problem with it. Witness the extreme difficulty France has with its Muslim population and how many riots that have taken place. The lie comes into play every time a black player dares to enter your European stadiums and the blatant racism comes into play.
I'm not anti Europe. I don't have a complex. I'm not even American by birth. However, I think it's incredibly stupid to pretend that Europe, the birthplace of fascism, is so distant from having racism codified into law.
Racism also seems to be more of an issue in America because, well, Americans talk about it out in the open. Europeans don't like to discuss such a topic and it's more "hush hush". You only hear about racism when an incident that is fueled by racism occurs. Institutionalized racism is HUGE in Europe but because that's a concept and not an incident, it is largely swept under the rug. In America, both overt and behind-the-scenes racism are constantly discussed.
