What were the names of some of the newspapers/publications which were available for free in Manhattan gay bars in the mid 80s to mid 90s? Specifically, the ones that had personal ads in them. TIA
The Village Voice
The Village Voice didnt start becoming a free publication until 1996. Im looking for the ones that were specifically geared to the gay community.
WON'T SOMEONE THINK OF THE CHILDREN??!!!???
H/X was the big one. It folded when the Internet made it easier to disseminate the information the magazine specialized in, and H/X couldn't or didn't keep up.
I knew the guy who ran it, Matt Bank--he was incredibly successful in the mid 90s, and now he's not as much.
