Don't cry for Angus. He's the richest kid in L.A., unless he gives all his TV earnings away to a cult.
Jones will still appear occasionally I believe.
No one will notice the difference.
Has Amber done comedy before?
R1, why would they cancel the show? It's still making truckloads of money for CBS and Warner Bros. I'm not vouching for the quality, but it's a cash cow -- and CBS and WB are businesses.
The only times I have ever watched this show was when I was channel surfing and saw Holland Taylor. I like her, but the show was beyond lame. However, Amber Tamblyn as a horny dyke sounds kind of interesting. Of course given CBS's demographics, I doubt they will do it well.
"...playing Jenny, the lesbian illegitimate daughter of the late Charlie Harper (Charlie Sheen)."
I assume she'll play one of those soft butch lesbians who sometimes stuffs her pants with quarter length athletic socks.
Really good choice!
What the fuck happened to her career!
Ten years ago, in September 2003, CBS premiered [italic]Joan of Arcadia[/italic]. Amber Tamblyn won the Golden Globe. She was nominated (and should have won) the Emmy. Years later, she does the dying [italic]House[/italic], and now she's about to do the rigor mortis [italic]Two and a Half Men[/italic].
What a disappointment!
I never watched the show, but it's great to see that no-talent ugly little fat fuck gone. Nothing personal kid.
R10 - I think she does not aspire to the ,limelight. She's made a few good indie pictures like Spiral. She also does poetry readings. And of course is married to David Cross.
David Cross is a wack-a-doo. I don't know what that says about Amber.
Oh, I get it. She's a lesbian, so that must make her half man. This show has managed to sink to new depths WITHOUT Charlie Sheen. Impressive.
Don't worry, R14, a lot of people hate the show now.
Amber talks about her character.
ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Tell me about your character, Charlie Harper’s long-lost daughter.
AMBER TAMBLYN: Her name is Jenny, and she is a fun, playful, debaucherous character. She’s unapologetic and enjoys drinking Ashton Kutcher’s character [Walden] under the table. Literally, at some point, he’s gonna be under the table, and there’ll be a joke about that.
You describe Jenny as unapologetic, which also seems to describe what her father was like. Does she share any other character traits with him?
Yes, very much so — her love for women. She’s super into the ladies, and that’s something that is a recurring thing. I think I’ve seen more bras and panties at this point than I have in 20 years of my career. And I ain’t complainin’.
[quote]What the fuck happened to her career!
She is 30 and has been a working actor since she was 12.
She's a published poet - which is probably more rare than a working actor.
I'm not sure exactly what you find disappointing?
Lynda Carter will also be joining the show, believe it or not.
Final season. Moving on.
Yet another lesbian character on tv.. not exactly surprised. And to have her as a horny dyke.. again, not surprised. Wake me up when they have the balls to add a gay (male) character.
Anything or anyone is better than Angus T!!!
When is the Steve Jobs movie going to be released?
What is the story with Lady Miss Butthurt at r21 who always crops up to complain that lesbians are better represented on TV than gay men? Plenty of TV shows today feature gay male characters--probably just as many or even more shows than feature lezzies. Perhaps r21 just needs to get over his need to be the victim in every situation.
Angus T. Jones sounds like something you'd order in an upscale steakhouse. "I'll have the Angus T. Jones, medium rare, with a side order of hash browns and the creamed spinach."
Amber has put on some weight, but carries it well.
I liked the show before but I believe it is time to pull the plug. Ashton could not save it and the character of Alan is now a cartoon.
Everything you had to say after "I liked the show before" became meaningless, r27.
Angus was the funniest character on the show. He had some great lines and executed them well.
The series is cursed. One and a half of the two and a half men went cray cray.
SO 1 dyke equals one half man. how many gays equals one dyke
Take this show out back and put a bullet in it already.
Angus is an unfortunately homely, crazy little fellow.
Such a rotten-hearted show, with three great actors (Crier, Ferrell and
Holland Taylor) too craven and connected to the money to leave. That shithead who replaced Sheen, the disgusting and one-note Jones, the aggressively wrong Tamblyn - hideous.
I'd watch it if Lynda Carter turns into Wonder Woman and kicks Ashton Kutcher's ass.
[quote]She's a published poet
Yeah, she's a regular Robert Frost. Do you have any understanding how the media industry works? You'll be pushing her for a Nobel Prize next.
R36 - Actually I do.
Apparently you don't.
[quote] Amber Tamblyn is a really unfortunate name.
This will probably be the last season. Even the addition of a boner-dyke character and probably more cunnilingus jokes than previously known to man won’t help it.
I watched it ... it was nice to have Holland Taylor back. She wasn't on much, if at all, last season.
I really liked the show for about the first three seasons. After that I watched it occasionally. In the first couple of seasons, when he was completely self unaware, Angus was funny as hell. Especially when they teamed him with his grandmother.
But yeah, the mom and housekeeper were the funniest parts of the show. Especially the way the mother dealt with being a new widow.
Why so pessimistic, R39?
Yes, really, Russ Tamblyn, father, at r38. Amber is a wretched, trailer-trash name under any circumstances, and sounds particularly awful with Tamblyn. For those of us who are elderqueers, reminds me of the refrain to that stupid Black Betty song from the 70s:
Whoa, Black Betty (Amber Tamblyn)
Whoa, Black Betty (Amber Tamblyn)
Black Betty had a child (Amber Tamblyn)
Damn thing gone wild (Amber Tamblyn)
Sounds nearly identical to the original, right?
What, I was supposed to like the name because her father was a celebrity, too?
[quote] Ten years ago, in September 2003, CBS premiered Joan of Arcadia. Amber Tamblyn won the Golden Globe. She was nominated (and should have won) the Emmy.
She thought she was too good for tv and wanted to be a big movie star
[quote]it's great to see that no-talent ugly little fat fuck gone.
He isn't fat anymore. I don't think he gained any weight since he was 10, in other words he grew into his fat.
R35 - LOL!
Amber's actually quite a good actress. She's showing range too, her character on 2 1/2 Men is very different from her character on House.
I watched the season opener of 2 1/2 Men with Amber Tamblyn. She's good, but the plot is predictable because she's "just like Charlie." That said, she's taking screen time away from Kutcher, which is a good thing! Still miss hot mess Sheen on the show, but Cryer and Berta are still on fire.
That's racist, they are calling her a half a men cause she likes the lezsex?
You fags are all shit fucked up.
No one has called her half a man.
She's doing quite well as Jenny.
One of the worst sitcoms ever. It's at the bottom of the barrel with Family Matters, Full House and My Mother The Car.
R51 - It's lasted 11 seasons and I am enjoying Amber.
Angus was far funnier.
R53 - No, he wasn't.
Amber is doing well in the show.
Amber's character Jenny is a great addition to the show, and Amber's performance is solid.
Tamblyn is the only funny thing on that show.
R57 - Sadly true, though I like Courtney Thorne-Smith.
