Kid Rock has a message for the man who tried to break into his home in Clarkston earlier this week: “Don’t mess with a (expletive) Like Me.” Those words were posted Friday on the singer’s website, along with security camera images showing a man on crutches and a van. According to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect used the van to ram a gate on Kid Rock’s property around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday and then tried to break into a building on the property. The singer, whose real name is Robert Ritchie, is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the suspect’s arrest. In a post on www.kidrock.com, the suspect is described as being in his late 40s or early 50s. He has a receding hairline, a mustache and side burns and is a smoker, according to the post. “Thank God I was not on the property at the time of this attempted break in. I am an avid hunter and marksman and I will not hesitate to shoot anyone who has myself or family in fear for our lives,” the singer’s website read Friday night. “I take the invasion of my personal space very seriously regardless of who you are and YES, I do profile people. I am currently profiling any balding white male on crutches driving a white creeper van.” The post calls the man a “jackass.” Anyone with information is asked to call the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office dispatch center at 248-858-4911.
