Anyone excited for Matt Damon's new movie: Elysium?
It's coming out on August 7, around the same time Oblivion is going on DVD. I can't wait to watch it.
Not really. saw the trailer with the new Star Trek. All looks oh so familiar.
I think it could be interesting. I miss good sci fi. Actually I miss sci fi in general. Pacific Rim was great. I hope that this will be good too. It's a shame that Orson Scott Card is an asshole because I love Ender's Game and the movie could be good too.
Also, Terry Gilliam is working on The Zero Theorem and I'm looking forward to that one. I just hope he doesn't fuck it up.
I'm sorry, who's new movie?
Foster comes of as QUEEN BUTCH in the trailer.
Does that mean Oblivion is going into Oblivion?
Yes OP,can't wait for this one. I just saw WW Z the other night, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.
Jodi's character in the trailer seems just like the one she played in The Inside Job. Ice Queen.
Oh hell yes. District 9 was awesome. Can't wait.
It's probably the movie I'm MOST looking forward to. I love the examination of class (99%/1%), and I loved "District 9"... I can't see how this will miss.
I can't imagine NOT being excited to see this.
It looks like it's probably the best of the special effects movies coming out this summer, actually...
Loved District 9 also.
Elysium is probably the only summer movie of 2013 that I've been anticipating.
Ever since the stars did a panel at Comic-Con LAST summer, I've been very curious. Of course they couldn't talk about the story at all back then. But the cast and the writer/director were enough to hook me. Also the fact that it's an original story.
Looks like every other SyFy movie over the past two years.
District 9 was an AMAZING movie, but I agree that Elysium (directed/produced by the same ppl?) looks like a rehash of every dystopian movie made in the past 2 years, up to and including The Hunger Games.
Not the biggest Damon fan, but I loved District 9 and will give it a go.
Remember when Jodie Foster gave her speech at the Golden Globes and announced...that she was single?
And sort of hinted that she was retiring from the business and vaguely inferred that she was lesbian?
So is Elysium her last acting role?
Jodie Foster? Yes, please. ANYTHING she does at this point in her career is worth a watch. And Matt Damon has grown on me. He has an "Everyman" quality that is infinitely likeable. Kind of like Tom Hanks with sex appeal.
I hear District 9 is amazing. I've still never seen it. Maybe I'll check it out.
