So far it's only 86 in the living room, bathroom, and kitchen. 76 here in the airconditioned bedroom and office. Last year it got over 90 in the unairconditioned rooms for like a month. I told myself this year I would buy another air conditioner. But this year it hasn't been hot and I didn't.
We had a massive freak thunderstorm last night here in Seattle -- was in the high 80's yesterday, today it's not even 70.
95 (feels like 98), NYC.
The Voice of the Night
Mid-80s in New Orleans. There's a convention in town with a lot of people from the Northeast and the D.C. and NYC attendees are saying it's much hotter back home.
93 northwest of Boston. The cat looks like he wants to cry.
Philadelphia is excrutiatingly hot and humid in summer.
My exterior doorknobs are so hot I use a handkerchief to open them.
I'm going to a Senior Cooling Center and play mah johnng with all the other old ladies. Oops, oh no, I'm not. Prime Time is off!!!
I'm not trying to be a Nervous Nelly, but what exactly the a brownout like? I'm kind of worried about all the A/Cs plugged in all over the city.
The Voice of the Night

Mama's mussy was so wet we had to get out the big beach towels to mop it up....
All the Northerners are so amusing... Yes, you'll find us amusing in the winter (what's snow?), but we'll enjoy you right now.
Top floor apartment here in Chicago. Two window units cranked have cooled it to 82 degrees.
r15, I'd much rather be sweating balls in NYC than in any red state Jesusland shithole, thanks.
How sad that you're so defensive, R17. All of us are embarrassed for you.
Mid 80s in London. No air con anywhere worth talking about.
[quote]R17]. All of us are embarrassed for you.
Speak for yourself. I hate this 'we' business I'm starting to see on DL.
NYC is increasingly moribund, R17, so I'm not sure what you're so proud of... It is to every other major growing city in this country as America is to China.
R18 speaks for me too. NYC is loathsome, and the world does not revolve around it. The rest of humanity has finally gotten to the point where it can criticize The Rotten Apple without being tarred and feathered.
I can't take this anymore. I HATE SUMMER. When you cannot even walk 5 blocks without being a puddle of sweat it is NOT. OKAY.
Yesterday I took three showers just to maintain some semblance of dignity. When the weather reaches 90+ degrees in the Northeast, it actually feels like HELL DEGREES because of the unbearable humidity! Last night it didn't even get below 85! Something is terribly wrong with that.
You know it's bad when I 28 year old man who is physically fit is having difficulty breathing! I can't take this anymore. Call me Mary! but this is just too fucking much. October cannot come soon enough!!!
I live in NYC but I have to flee it as often as possible in the summer. Living in any type of urban setting when it's hot and muggy is gross. It's hotter, more humid and more intolerable in cities for some reason. Maybe all the people. Maybe all the concrete. But regardless, once you go out to the country it seems more tolerable.
[quote] I told myself this year I would buy another air conditioner. But this year it hasn't been hot and I didn't.
You might look into central air....
Oops. Should read "But irregardless..."
97 here in Kansas City,Mo.
there are pools of sweat baby pool deep under my moobs
R26, your auto-correct was correct. Irregardless is not a word.
Philly's heatwave has been extended into Saturday. You know there will be people who will have the need to go outside, just because it's the weekend.
98 in far South Chicago Suburb.
How I know it's hot: my old dog barks at my feral cats from the deck, doesn't bother chasing them, they simply lift their heads up and stare at her, one gives her the paw, they all go back to napping, old dog is turns to the back door, goes back inside.
Inside cats feelings as follows:
NYC is like the Congo right now. And everybody stinks.
She's great R32. Love it.
NYC may not be Mecca, but I'd rather be in a cultured place than anywhere in the pigfucking, cowfucking, cousinfucking South.

Any updates as to how the Hell's Kitchen whores are holding up?
Remember that candy that was those little wax bottles filled with a sugary liquid R37? Ever see one left on the sidewalk to melt in the sun?
That's what HK looked like today. You could hardly take a step without having to hop over one.
Philly and DC areas were hotter today than all of the rest of the us but the southwest like Phoenix and Death Valley!
Fuck you, r15, it was HOTTER in Philadelphia today than houston, so suck my cock!
The TV news said it was 100 in Newark, but my car said the outside temp was 103. (This was around 5:30 when I was on my way out to dinner.) The heat index (or whatever it's called when the humidity is factored in) would put that number even higher.
Still, without a doubt I prefer this to the coldest days in winter.
And at least it was breezy today, even though it's the equivalent of opening an oven door.
Frosty here in Montecito, California. Definitely below 32 degrees in the house. Oprah heard Rae Dong Chong's comments.
[quote]without a doubt I prefer this to the coldest days in winter.
Not ME ! I hate this shit! Garbage stinks like Hell and cars overheat! Not to mention the flies and gnats everywhere! I hate this hellhole and I'm crossing the days off the calendar until the next deep freeze.
R44, fuck you too! You're drier and have central air!
It's so damn hot I saw a dog chasing a cat and they were both walking.
Stephanie Scarscelletti reporting from Ronkonkoma.
Won't you have to ask your mother for permission to use hers, R40? All of us here know that you have no cock of your own.
I'm with you also R17. We may not number enough for a DL we, but linking any damned thing including the ambient daily temperature to portions of the country (or politics) which offend you is getting tiresome.
Tell that to the snotty, haughty New Yorkers, R49. For a decade, they've bashed every state that isn't their own. It's as rich as Wall Street for you to play the martyr now.
It reached 81 today with 2% humidity. UGH!!!!!!
Still hotter than anywhere else
Was 82 at 5:00AM today, seemed like a cold snap. Those storms they keep promising to give us a break in the weather can't come soon enough. Oh yeah, fuck this heat. C'mon October!!!
For Christ sake quit your bitching. Winter never ended. It was still snowing in May in parts of the country.
Not where I live, it never snowed here
My swimming pool is too hot to swim in. I'm going to throw the garden hose in and see if I can cool it a few degrees.
Is Palm Springs really that hot in the summer?
I want to move there but my snatch cannot DEAL with 110 in the shade, gurl.
Then don't go there
Palm springs is a desert, honey, don't go if you don't like pizza-oven like heat.
[quote]Not where I live, it never snowed here
It may not have snowed in Philly but it sure as hell was cold through out PA all through May. Winter never ended.
Bullshit. It was average spring temps the whole calendar year, you lizard. At least in the Delaware valley
[quote]Bullshit. It was average spring temps the whole calendar year, you lizard. At least in the Delaware valley
You're in a valley you don't count. April was among the coldest on record in the north central U.S
Not for us, it was average all year except that we had low snow fall. Now with a hideous hot summer it feels like penance.
And frankly, you toads in the back woods don't really want to know what we think of you, do you?
R32 I love that woman. I've linked all my friends to her video
There's suppose to be a thunderstorm in Philly from today through Thursday.
DEAL WITH IT!
r68 I'm singin' in the.....damn, it's over already. Guess I'll go take my walk. Wanna' join me for scrapple and eggs afterwards?
Does anyone have one of those split A/C systems? I got an estimate for central air and it was $12,000. I want to look into this as an alternative because if this is the new normal, I don't think I can continue to live without air conditioning.
Friends do and LOVE it
(Fingers In Ears) Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na
what's split A/C?
You stick it in the wall, no ducts
I'm about to pass out. I walk around feeling dizzy every day, I don't feel like eating.. it's just too hot. This heat has really taken a toll on me. It's hell. I cannot stand these heat waves. Seriously.. it hasn't rained here in forever. We even have forest fire warnings. It's really bad.
Oh, and before you say something.. it might "only" be 28 degrees here. But remember, we have NO A/C here.. it' not like in the US where everyone has A/C. It's much harder to deal with the heat here up north. Besides.. the humidity is awful too. It feels more like 37 than 27.
Those are both really cold temperatures, R75.
Now it's not even 70 in Philly! I'm sitting here with my windows open on a day off lovin' life.
