There is a scene where Dwan and Jack are running through a deserted NYC street, Dwan is exhausted from running and stress and begs Jack to get her a drink. He brings her into a deserted bar and pours her something.
Which neighborhood was that, and was it a real bar? Or, all a set?
I guess it was a set.
I'm getting this movie mixed up with Kong Kong.
They told me I was too ugly!!!!
Is this the movie where they play Ping Pong?
King Kong went to Hong Kong just to play ping pong with his ding dong.
K King, "Gay Sons of Lesbian Mothers"
Don't they also sing a song?
Love theme to King Kong was a flop even in the lungs of Maureen McGovern.
r3, you made me laugh.
I think I'm the only person who actually likes the '76 King Kong. It wasn't nearly as bad as people made it out to be.
I like it too. I thought Jeff Bridges and Charles Grodin were good in it. I like the scene where Kong makes his first appearance, with the loud music and him breaking down the trees as he approaches "Dwan". Ugh but that name....
It was better than the 2005 version. (although I thought Naomi Watts did good work in that one....but Adrian Brody was terrible. Watts had more chemistry with the ape.)
The 2005 version was just a bit too long, but visually it was stunning. Loved the scenes of Depression-era NYC.
I liked the 2005 version too for the same reason as R15 and I loved the score.
The 2005 version would've been masterful if they'd removed most of the first 45 minutes.
The interior was probably a set as the hydraulic Kong hand was used there to pick Dwan up.
