Lucille Ball, Betty White and Estelle Getty on this week's Super Password
Playing for charity, and a lot of fun.
Good chance to see a really old Lucy as herself. Her first time on the show, but she plays well. Estelle's first time, too, and she's a little nervous.
Betty is a professional, as always.
Ann Dusenberry (from Life with Lucy) is the fourth, but I don't know her.
Episode 2 at 11am today (eastern) on GSN.
Anyone know when Lucy will be on quiz show again? GSN site not helpful.
Didn't Lucille Ball and Estelle Getty die already? How can they be on the show?
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday will be the concluding episodes of this week's Super Password. (they do five shows.) Then Thursday will be new celebs.
why didn't Lucille give clues? And who is Lucille's partner?
(whispered voice) The password is OLD.
Did Lucy had a drink and a cigarette going under the cubicle?
God, Super Password sucked.
I shaid the clue for the pashword waszh sheltzhzer. Can't you undershtand Englishsh?
the password is....Jackass
Bert Convy's Jew-fro was well-controlled in that episode.
Lucy wouldn't even look at poor Ann Dusenberry! This episode is probably what ran her out of Hollywood. She was so good as Tina the beauty pageant winner in Jaws II whose boyfriend gets eaten by the shark, and of course who could forget her turn as Meg in the Susan Dey/Eve Plumb television version of Little Women.
Lucille was 11 years older than Betty but looks decades older.
And Bert convy was Irish, not Jewish, r16.
Lucy learned that Desi died on that day of filming the whole week of shows of Super Password.

The password is WAAAAHHHH!

Do you mean backgammon?
As the host, Bert Convy was notorious for blurting out not only the Password in play, but Passwords that were coming up and the answer to the Super Password puzzle itself. Patty Duke was a frequent guest who was prone to goofy breakdowns of her own. Once after Bert spoiled yet another game in progress, Patty bluntly asked him why he couldn't just shut up.
Lucille Ball was terrible on these shows. She constantly looked bored, playing with her jewelry, looking down, looking away and at times, seemed totally uninterested in what was going on. She seemed to be in a world of her own. Of course, she looked down on everyone. What a total b*t*h in her later life.
Bert Convey always looked lost. A nice guy but totally dumb.
Bert Convy was Irish? No kidding. I always assumed he was Jewish.

Did this stuff make it on the air, r26, or was it cut out?

No kidding. I can't believe some of you are so obsessed with that shrill, one-note hag.
looks like Lucy got a pass on the time limit for responses
Convy (Convey, Conway, Conaway) is an Irish name. Bert's mother was a Whalen, so he was Irish on both sides.
This was on today on GSN. Estelle was nervous but actually played quite well. Lucy wasn't that bad a player but she looked like she would rather be anywhere else, what was the point?
R32 I refuse to believe Bert Convy wasn't Jewish.
Clearly Convey had a Jewfro whether or not his racial background was Jewish

What do you expect from a psychotic?
Bert Convy died of AIDS. It was "officially" a brain tumor to cover up his homosexuality. But it was right at the height of the AIDS epidemic.
R35 ha you sound like my mom - she always assumed any celebrity who died somewhat young and around a certain time must have had AIDS. Sometimes people do get sick and die young.
Sometimes...But mostly they have AIDS and cover it up.
I think all Americans should be required to submit their DNA and fingerprints to a database. That way if a crime happens we'll know for sure who's guilty.
End crime now.
