We all know that Rob Halford of Judas Priest is out and proud, but what about the rockers who always pinged but have never officially declared they were gay?
I always thought David Lee Roth pinged to high heaven, as well as Paul Stanley from Kiss and Poison's drummer, Rikki Rockett.
Did Billy Squier ever come out?
You simply cannot convince me that John Cougar Mellencamp has never had a man's tongue up his hole.
Mellencamp? You know, I never really thought he pinged, but now that you mention it...
EPIC fail. who gives a shit about nasty smelly rock musicians. ewwwwww
David Lee Roth has GOT to be gay. Has he ever been linked to any woman? He was posing as a macho, longhaired rocker back in the day for adoring, screaming female fans so I can see why they'd want him to stay in the closet but what's the deal now.
Paul Stanley is a flaming queen.
Bowie and Jagger were fuck buddies at one time.
I always thought Steven Tyler and Joe Perry were kinda close. Didn't Steven recently reveal that he once had a homosexual encounter?
America, I’m not your pet gay.
America, I never said I wanted to marry you. Can’t we just live together?
America, I’m not a Care Bear on your suburban lawn with an adopted Guatemalan baby in my arms and my legal-in-twelve-states-and-DC husband weeping beside me and humming the score of Rent through his grateful tears.
America, I’m not a happy happy drag queen sent to earth by Jesus, Cher, and Harvey Fierstein to teach joy and love and endurance to straight people in tour buses. . .
[quote]who gives a shit about nasty smelly rock musicians. ewwwwww
Apparently you do, shithead. Otherwise why waste your precious time in the thread?
Both Roth and Stanley are rumored to be at least bi (I think Martha Quinn outed Paul Stanley by accident on the Howard Stern show - she was talking about going out on a date with him and Howard asked if they fucked and she some something to the effect of Paul bowling in an entirely different lane - they went on a bowling date).
Roth is also said to be hung like a mule..he has self described it as a baby's arm holding an apple.
David Lee Roth is definitely a closet case.
I always thought some of the Duran Duran guys were gay. I can't remember who is who in that band. It was either Simon Le Bon or one of the other ones. But apparently, I'm wrong.
[quote]David Lee Roth has GOT to be gay. Has he ever been linked to any woman
He dated Apollonia from "Purple Rain" in the early '80s, but outside of that, I've never seen him linked to any woman.
seriously Rod Stewart??? has no one heard the old rumors about him passing out on stage and getting his stomach pumped to find out it was full of cum?? God that one is older than datalounge i think. There were always rumors about him and bowie.
[quote]Roth is also said to be hung like a mule..he has self described it as a baby's arm holding an apple.
[quote]seriously Rod Stewart??? has no one heard the old rumors about him passing out on stage and getting his stomach pumped to find out it was full of cum??
That's an old wives tale that has also been linked to Lil' Kim and Jordan Knight of New Kids on the Block.
I find it hard to imagine that the Cure's Robert Smith hasn't at least dabbled.
I mean, "Man Inside My Mouth"? Really?
There are plenty of rumors on Bono as well, One of the guys from Missing Persons is at least bi, Warren something..and has plenty of nude pics floating around...pretty hot bod and nice cock if I remember..
lead singer from Metallica always pinged for me as well...
So many decades and the question of gay rockers-unlike actors and pop stars-was ever properly opened. I always thought there would be tons of interesting discoveries waiting to be uncovered. Seriously, why would rock`n`roll be gay-deficient?
[quote]There are plenty of rumors on Bono as well
Wow, never knew that. His ass (back in the day) was delicious.
[quote]lead singer from Metallica always pinged for me as well...
Hetfield? He is kind of hot, but he never pinged for me. What about him pings?
[quote]One of the guys from Missing Persons is at least bi, Warren something
Warren Cuccurullo. He was also in Duran Duran for a time. Massive dick and hot, muscular bod. He posed on the cover of the Brazillian gay mens' magazine G, and he also did a few amateur pornos (a couple of them where he's taking a pink dildo, and several hot j/o ones).
Rob Zombie is married to that chick who he always puts in his movies, but he sort of pings for me too--not like he's out and out gay, but that he's so freaky that he wouldn't mind dabbling if the situation ever presented itself. I know he's not everyone's cup of tea but, besides the fact that he looks dirty and like he smells of b.o., there's something hot about him.
Roddy Bottum of FAITH NO MORE is openly gay. Bottum wrote the lyrics for FNM's "Be Aggressive", a song about going down on a man. Hot FNM lead singer Mike Patton said he had no trouble singing the homoerotic lyrics.
Prince shockingly is not gay. He even calls it out in his own music (Controversy - "am I black or white, am I straight or gay?")
He is a notorious womanizer and for his height is rumored to be sporting a giant dick (rumor is 9" on a 5'2" man..must look like a third leg).
Perry Ferrel (sp?) from Jane's Addiciton/Porno for Pyros is famously BI, as is Dave Navaro, Anthony Kedis, Scott Weiland and a few other of the grunge metal era men.
I think Prince is in the very least bi. I mean, he seems a major pussy hound from his songs, but he HAS to have some sugar in his tank.
Navarro and Kedis are totally hot, as was Scott Weiland before he went all apeshit with the drugs. Isn't Pat Smear gay too?
Steven Van Zandt. Go to 3:45 in this video. He wants to blow Bruce.
And what the FUCK with the headgear? Dude, we know you're bald.
Bruce was fucking HOT back then, so I can see why Steven wanted to blow him. Unfortunately, the red-headed tart in the band had her sights set on the then-married Bruce.
Glenn Danzig always seems angry, like he's hiding something.
Ace Frehley once told a friend of mine that Paul Stanley was bisexual.
And in Peter Criss's tell-all book (yes, I actually read it) he says that Ace Frehley crawled under a blanket in Criss's hotel bed (while Criss was making out with some chick)and that Ace blew him.
That's hot, R42.
I always thought Sylvester was gay, but who knows?
R8 I always thought Steven Tyler and Joe Perry were kinda close. Didn't Steven recently reveal that he once had a homosexual encounter?"
Steven was clearly obsessed with Joe. An old Behind the Music on VH1 hinted at something. Their producer made a comment he couldn't figure out who was doing what with who (meaning Steven, Joe and their wives at the time.)
What about Henry Rollins? I've heard rumors about him for years. I'd like to know about more classic rock guys from the 60s and 70s...there's got to be some stories out there!
EVERYONE mentioned in this thread is archaic. Ugh. Don't gay guys listen to new music anymore?
The problem is not that the names mentioned in this thread are archaic, r43, it is that there are no real "rock stars" (in the classic sense...) anymore, just as there is little decent music created these days.
Back to topic...Rod Stewart was known to be included in a group of gay/bi British rockers who called each other women's names. I saw this on a documentary of Freddie Mercury. Freddie was on camera laughing about this, and while he didn't say they were gay outright, the message was clear, as the group included Freddie, Elton, Rod, etc., etc.
Robert Plant and Jimmy Page seems bi. I know they were notorious pussy hounds back on the day, but they both give off a bi vibe.
yes we listen to new music but rocks start are actually out sometimes...
But to make you happy . Pete Wentz. I hear rumors he likes his meat on the side.
Both Ray & Dave Davies of The Kinks have spoken openly of their bisexuality...but not until they were much older. No one seemed to care or make anything of it.
Philip Anselmo, formerly Pantera & Darryl Abbott, too for that matter (RIP)
Jon Bon Jovi always seemed a little suspect.
I've always wondered about Mike Patton.
He was married to a woman for a while, I think, but they broke up. According to him, he was touring too much for it to work out.
Ezra Koenig from "Vampire Weekend" is cute enough to have gay rumors about him. The drummer is hot, too.
r63, I thought he was out?
Rostam is out, R64.
Michael Hutchence: any stories?
Thinks for the video, R28 - for a minute, I thought I was watching Liza Minnelli's audition tape for Cabaret.
Jon Bon Jovi once alluded to the fact that he and Richie Sambora once got a little "too close." Who knows if he was making that up of if they made out or what.
But I agree, rock publicists seem to keep those door sealed tighter than Hollywood.
Ad all the musicians here identified as bi all either have girlfriends or were married.
Several members of Duran Duran seemed suspect to me and now that I think of it, all five of them got married during 1984-85 at the height of their fame. It was like one after the mother.
I still have a hard time picturing Boy George and the sexy Jon Moss as a couple. Moss seemed so uncomfortable about the entire thing.
Bob Mould is gay.
Keith Murray from, We Are Scientists, seems gay but apparently has a long term girlfriend.
Sorta like Sufan Stevens who was rumored to be gay, but is now rumored to be married with kids. This is thought to be him getting a bj from a girl on Pirates of the Caribbean ride.
R56 Yeah, Billie Joe Armstrong is openly bi, and he's hot as hell. Same as Brian Molko from Placebo.
[quote]Jon Bon Jovi once alluded to the fact that he and Richie Sambora once got a little "too close."
Tell us more.
I had no idea about Dave Davies. Googled it and he apparently live with TV presenter Michael Aldred for a time. I can't seem to track down a pic of Aldred. He was one of the presenters of the pop music show Ready Steady Go. Can anyone confirm if the guy in this clip is him?
Broken hearted about Sufjan being a creep. Delete and punch itunes.
I never heard any rumors of Bono being gay. In fact, all the rumors have been about his affairs with other women: Christy Turlington, Andrea Corr, Winona Ryder. I've heard lesbian rumors about his bitchy wife Alison, though.
There's always been rumors about Paul Stanley being gay. Maybe he's bi; he had an affair with the actress Donna Dixon (she dumped him for Dan Akroyd!) and he's married now, with three kids. Ace Frehley was known for making out with guys. He was totally blotto on drugs or alcohol most of the time so he probably has some sexual experiences with men. Same with Peter Criss. A former friend of Frehley's named Gordon Gelbert wrote a scathing book about him called "Kiss and Tell." He said at a party or something Criss and Frehley got into a shouting match about which one of them had blown the other one first: "You blew ME first! No it was you who blew ME first!" I think this went on in the presence of their wives. Gene Simmons is the only member of Kiss who hasn't been outed as gay or bi. His reputation was that of an indiscriminate pussy hound who would fuck anything. Frehley said he gave the rest of the band crabs; seems all their costumes would be packed in one trunk and they all got infested with crabs due to Simmons being chronically afficted with them.
I don't know if it counts.
And I don't know if it were said before on this thread.
But "The Artist Formally Known As Prince", comes across as very fruity. So what if he's "had" or is around lots of women. Ever heard of something called a "BEARD"!?.
[quote]The Artist Formally Known As Prince
He hasn't been "known" by that name since the 1990s.
Dave Davies was fucking sex on legs in the '60s.
I understand that. Hence the quotations.
It was a silly little joke referencing the multitude of times that he's changed his name and his many logos.
Davies talks about some of his "experimentation" here.
"Oh my God. I'm back. I'm home. All the time, it was... We finally really did it ... You Maniacs! You blew it up! Ah, damn you! God damn you all to hell!"
We are switching to the new platform for The DataLounge this weekend. All of our mobile users have been using it for over a week and all first time users have been using it for about a month - which adds up to well over one million users. So we're ready to end this phase of the testing and move everybody to the new site. (more)
And yes, we've changed the look and some of how it operates.
Yes, we know you just *hate* it in well in advance.
Yes, we know we suck.
Yes, we are the biggest suckers that ever sucked.
But it was time for a change and with the huge shift to mobile it was long overdue. We've taken this opportunity not only to update the look but also make major changes under the hood (or "bonnet" if you're either British or pretentious or both). And we have to prepare for 2016 - a presidential election year where we can normally expect to see a 60% jump in traffic (yes, we've seen 5 presidential elections so far…Christ we're old).
The site has a bunch - nay, plethora - of new features which will make the site more usable: better search, the ability to ignore posters and threads, see link previews, to pick up a thread where you left off, spam and malware filtering and more.
If you want you can go explore and see for yourself, Click here.
And while running the tests we've noticed two interesting reactions to the new system - people are spending more time on the site and more people that come stay around longer and look at more stuff. Both good things. Yay!
Possibly we've not slain all the dragons and there will be issues that come up during the switchover. There's a help button in the lower right hand corner of the page which you can use to send us bug reports.
Please include as much information about the hardware (PC, Mac, Tablet, Phone etc), operating system (Windows, Mac OS, Android, iOS etc) and browser (Chrome, Safari, Opera, Internet Explorer etc) that you are using as possible to help us replicate and fix the problem.
Please note that complaints about colors, fonts, icons and the like are not "bugs" - they are design choices that we've made and we expect one or two cases of world-class bitching. But they won't actually cause headaches, scurvy, heart attacks, Restless Leg Syndrome, Morgellon's Disease or the vapors (but have your smelling salts at hand just in case).
Talking to DataLounge servers. Please wait a moment...
