Mika will need tweezers to grasp Russell's tiny little shaft.
I hate this asshole.
That woman is a Cunt with a capital C.
Where pretentiousness meets vapidity: Brand and the cast of Morning Joe deserve each other.
I stopped watching the show largely because of her.
It's hard to believe that she's Zbigniew Brzezinski's daughter...
They were being snide and snotty and he called them on it nicely.
Who is Russell Brand???
Katty Kay has been in the US far too long because she's now a face-lifted cunt.
If only I knew what a shaft grasper is.
I'm sure Joe Scarborough could tell you all about Mika's grasping.
Ha! Thank you for posting this. Though I don't watch the show, I love me some Mika. To me, she's a throwback to the icy but sexy Hitchcock Blonde and I love when she squeals and makes that little orgasm sound. She doesn't get to say much on the show, but I hang on every word. To me, Mika is the sexiest woman working on television today. Of course, you can't trust me. I haven't touched a woman in nearly 40 years.
Whereas Russell is a consummate graft sharpster.
Mika is so friggin sexy, dude. She just exudes heat.
I was once a Shaft Grasper. Those were good times.
Yeah, it was cool watching her come all undone by Russell Brand. He does have that effect. I'm sure they totally did it after the show. He probably tossed her in a closet and had his way with her.

At the end of the clip, Mika was grasping the neck of her water bottle and kind of rubbing up and down. He's an asshole but he can hold his own with just about anyone. A little rude on the show, I thought. The Brit press is playing it up like they were condescending to him, and he put them in their place.
They absolutely were condescending to him. The intro was incredibly rude and the other dumb bitch started calling him Willie (as in Willie Brandt) at one point. The 3 interviewers sounded totally ignorant and banal the entire time.
The Brit press is correct R17.
Oh I didn't see it that way at all. It was fun to see Mika so affected by him that she actually lost the thread. Smugboy was rude all the way through, turning away to comment on the "tweeters" when someone tried to speak to him. But he was funny, so there was that, I suppose.
I hope mika get gang raped by a group of black prisoners
Did you hear Mika's dismissive introduction of him, R17? Brand was masterful in his demolition of Mika. And she deserved it.
I did, but I watched the whole thing. Did you? I really think it was cute and charming and not at all bad television.
I guess it's someone's sick idea of a sexual fantasy, r24. Most of the sickness is that involves Brand.

Russel Brand vapid? I suppose he has an image (that I'm not familiar with as an American who's only familiar with the name)
But good god almighty, his Margaret Thatcher editorial was really pretty sublime (and I'm someone who doesn't use words like this). The boy can write! It's one of the best pieces of journalism I've ever read.
Please don't be harsh on me.
No, R26, Brand was meant to be the pretentious part of that equation but you're right, that was a well-written article. Thank you for sharing it.
Oh Lord, I tried to get through the Brand article and, overwritten as it was, I just couldn't. RUSSELL BRAND WANTS YOU TO KNOW HE'S A GENIUS. And perhaps he is. But I wish he'd stop shoehorning adjectives. It makes his text dense and unreadable.
Are you an American, R28? I just ask out of curiosity because, as an American, sometimes the British writing style can be florid and overly-elaborate to the point of slavishness to their own erudite self-regard (c.f. Christopher Hitchens et al.). If you read out of your own comfort zone or area, you'll recognize the difference. But Brand scared the shit out of me because he made sense and pared it down.
While not being direct or to the point for those who don't grasp their theses, the writing is sometimes "ponderous" or "overly-elaborate," and not heavily laden with empirical evidence. How welcome is it? Basically, if someone's trying to sound smart and you can't make sense of it, you might be the objective of their trap.
I honestly don't see Brand as being guilty of this charge. Perhaps he's guilty of other crimes against humanity? (I have no idea if his divorce from the pop queen prompted the stilleto to the balls response or not.)
Yeah, I know that comparison's going to leap out of the woodwork as an unjustifiable one.
But there really is a difference between British and American writing. Our directness and obviousness lacks nuance, even when the stupid perpetrators try to glove it within humor.
The usual 'Americans fucking suck' popinjays flock to youtube, predictably missing the fact that one of the interviewers in question is actually British.
I'm with R26.
Brand's image as a comedian is of an asshole, but he's a smart guy, smarter than he lets on.
His essay on Amy Winehouse was an oasis of sense and compassion in a sea of drama and tabloid death porn.
Mika, et al treated him dismissively, and he read them for the dreadful, half assed journalists they are.

Barely. It's obvious Katty Kay has been in this country far too long. I've seen her devolve into yet another 'American' reporter. I used to like her.
Brand's Guardian article on Thatcher was fucking brilliant. And if you have reading skills above those of a ten-year-old, it's quite readable.
And Katty Kay is Peggy Noonan with a BBC British accent.
She was rude in the intro, but that was about it.
I don't see why this is generating Internets attention. It's pretty lame all around...
Katy Kay is the daughter of a diplomat, Mika, the daughter of a politician. Both born into privilege. Before her cat like facial surgery, KK used to be interesting. Now that she is all over the tube, I like her less and less. Mika has always been a hack and bad actress when she tries to be serious. While I don't like Russell and don't find him funny at all, it was fun to see him go at them and watch them squirm not having any comebacks after his assaults. If he is from a working class family, it makes it even better.
R35, probably because Mika thinks Brand is "beneath" her. She's an elitist tool.
Yet another asshole born on third who thinks she hit a triple.
Great publicity for him and the show!!! Isn't that what it's all about?
Brand presented the 2006 NME Awards. At the ceremony Bob Geldof, who was accepting an award from Brand, said at the podium, "Russell Brand – what a cunt", to which Brand replied:
"Really it's no surprise [Geldof]'s such an expert on famine. He has after all been dining out on 'I Don't Like Mondays' for 30 years".
He annoys me, but he does have some good lines. The Geldof line was good.

Yes, after all American journalism exists for two purposes: to disseminate government propaganda and to sell products.

In both cases, dealing with limp dicks.
If you've ever heard Brand on Howard Stern, where they aren't under time constraints, he's hilarious and incredibly quick-witted. I think some of the interviews are on YouTube. He talks about being molested as a kid and tries to make light of it, but Howard tries to get at the real effect it had on him.
He also talked about Amy Winehouse (before she died) and it was really touching.
I never cared for him but after hearing him being more or less himself, I was totally won over.
Russell Brand is fantastic and a true humanitarian. He's quite before his time.
Mika apologizes for not being prepared and said she didn't know who Brand is. Tired and had had a long day. Pathetic.
