I've listened to the "song of the summer" contenders-
Miley "I Could Care Less for Chipmunk ExDizney Tweens"
Beyonce "I'm Gorgeous and Rich"
Avril "I'll Never Admit to Forty, EVER"
Mac&Ryan- "Can't Hold Us"
But, I have to go with #Thicke+TI+Pharrell "Blurred Lines"
Goddamn, that song is awesome, and the (uncensored) video is hot- I'm a gay dude, but those chicks are HOT!
I hope this launches Robin Thicke (He Has Big Dick) into the pop stratosphere!
The fact that he asked his wife's permission to do the video (it has really hot girls walking around in nothing but thongs) and basically being a super cool guy makes me love him.
I'd love for him to do some work with Macklemore.
Does anyone else hate the songs this year? Blurred lines plays every 10 minutes these days. Usually there is a certain sound for the summer, this summer almost seems 70s inspires with get lucky and the instrumental on blurred lines.
Marvin Gaye's estate had better be getting their cut on Thicke's song.
Yup OP. Blurred Lines decimates all including Get Lucky. It's more of an uptempo banger and more blatantly about sex. Can't go wrong.
I have had it on non-stop repeat since I bought it as a curio when I saw it was #1 and haven't burnt it out yet like I did Get Lucky. Love the video.
What one does it take from r4? I knew it had to be something.
Love Blurred Lines and yes that video is hot.
Pharrell is so fucking hot and camps it up a storm here. Is he the youngest looking 40 year old ever? I was in disbelief when I found out his age years ago.
He's been on so many great records, such as Snoop's Beautiful, his own Frontin.. have to download all these. I don't mind paying to replace old illegal mp3s when it's the classics.
[quote]What one does it take from?
"Got To Give It Up"
Obviously, "Blurred Lines"...it's been #1 on iTunes for quite some time now.
Blurred Lines? Nice and rapey of you, DL.
"Lose Yourself to Dance" will be as big than Get Lucky
"When a Fire Starts to Burn" by Disclosure (actually, their entire album is as good as Daft Punk)
"Vocal" by Pet Shop Boys
"Alive" by Empire of the Sun
"Jack" by Breach
Robin thicke's rape song is very famousl
Hot Stuff, Bad Girls, My Sharona, Ring My Bell??? What about these?
Beyonce's song isn't officially released. Don't you know all the trolling she and Lady Gaga are pulling with their fans?
Anyway, Blurred Lines and Get Lucky are the frontrunners for me, but I Love It might come out on top by the end of August.
Pharrell might have a one-two punch summer if Azealia Banks releases ATM Jam in time
#THICKE (dick) FTW!!!
New late entry: Basement Jaxx, "What a Different You Love Makes"
A music video that makes you instantly happy.
to really "make" the Song of the Summer- meaning vapid and bullshit "why can't we just want peace" will rest on the small shoulder' of the sweet boy oh loves "fighting crime" while killing the Crush.) or this film will flop.
It's obviously Blurred Lines. I wish it wasn't, but it is.
It would have been Get Lucky, but that was released too early. I think everyone involved with that record were surprised just how huge it was.
Instead of that vile "Fancy" song, or the equally revolting Arianna Grande Latte/Iggy Azaleas "song", the hit of the summer should have been "I've Never Been In Love (B4U)" by Cobra Starship ft. Icona Pop.
