Decided to give the show a try the other night. Not horrible, not great. Takes some getting used to the flashbacks as the plot unfolds.
Two major mistakes on first episode...
Inside to avoid spoilers....
The killer is hiding in the attic, access through a trap door in ceiling closet. Detective searching house calls for a ladder to access the trap door. How did killer get up there without a ladder?
Second was he hears them coming and escapes through an attic vent. House is surrounded by cops. How did he get off the property without being seen?
I assume it's crap just like all the other Canadian shows the networks have been importing to fill their summer schedules the past few years.
Because they film in Vancouver, the show is lazily recycling much of the second-tier cast from "The Killing." The female lead, the teen killer *and* the hunky/nerdy junior investigator were all carryovers from that earlier, soggy misfire.
Oh, and Lauren Holly is tragically unrecognizable. She looks like Christina Hendricks, if Christina had been been popping cortic-steroids like Pez and shotgunning Old Milwaukee. Egads.
